Logs for McMurdo1

12-Feb-05
Ok so I am a bit slow on the uptake when I read the hints. Found it just where it should be after the Duh! moment while riding the bus yesterday. Weather today was much nicer and had a very enjoyable time. The ducks were a bit disappointed when the container did not contain any thing for them to eat. I tried dropping Troy's tiger but without removing about a quarter of him, he was just not going to fit the container. I guess he'll just have to go back to North America again and hopefully make it this way again.

I, along with many who log this, got the news on 9-12. I was getting up to go to work and noticed that my news notifications on my pager had been very active overnight. As soon as I saw what the headlines were I turned on the television to the terrible scenes. Being over half a world away in Antarctica made it both easier to deal with and harder. We knew that there was not much way for us to help directly, but also knew that our main source of transportation may be a bit busy when it came time to open the station for the season. Thank you for giving me the chance to touch history and reflect a little.

Nice hide. Found it on a warm rainy, drizzly day. Having just returned from Antarctica the rain was very enjoyable. Took nothing, Left a McMurdo sticker and tried to keep the log book dry as I signed it.

Well after the TB I have didn't fit in Bob's place I decided to walk over and try this one. The three waypoints were easy enough to find and very cleverly hidden. The magnet seems to be missing from the utility box however. It may just be my "yank" math, but the result I get does not place the cache within the park. Oh well it was a nice warm rain (and I have not had the opportunity to walk in the rain for six months) and good exercise. If I make it back to ChCh in the future I'll try it again.
