Logs for Noddy&Jo

15-Nov-13
Hooray! Found this after a brief look and a bit of head scratching. Almost thought I was going to have to go scrabbling through the leaf litter, then suddenly the clue made sense to me! It's been a while since my last find - appropriate that I restarted on my birthday Smile TFTC #19

Since we were early for an appointment just around the corner, thought I'd show Noddy this nifty little cache which I'd found about a month ago. Surprised to see the area has had a major landscape (by council workers?). Couldn't spot the cache in 4th or 5th. Methinks the cache has been muggled (ie disposed?). Suggest CO needs to check it out...

Tried to look like I was casually strolling around the trees-a bit difficult in broad daylight, especially when 2 muggles sat down on a nearby bench! Found a single sneaker in a bush and wondered briefly if that could be the cache... But no, remembered some previous logs which gave me a clue. Randomly selected a likely looking spot and gave it one last search as I casually strolled past. CIH! Muggles must have thought I had OCD, from the number of times I stood up and sat down! Hah! Finally found it. Shockingly easy when inspiration strikes Smile Jo had previously scoped out GZ during daylight hours, but too many muggles about. Returned one evening with Noddy, had a look around. Mulled over the clues whilst enjoying dinner at a restaurant across the way. Noddy was confident he knew just where to look, so we tried again after dinner and soon had cih. Noddy's first solo find! TFTC #16

Got sick of sitting in traffic on the way home from work. Spotted this cache listed en route. Nice quick cache & dash. Collected Jonathan the Bug CK. TFTC #15

What a great cache! WP1 was ingenious, as was the final GZ. Thank goodness for the super secret encrypted hint for WP1 though, otherwise it would've been a DNF for me! TFTC #14

This cache had me scratching my head for a while... almost gave up. Had another good read of some previous logs (thanks Marcus-not sure if it was intentional?), which, combined with the clue gave me some inspiration and finally spotted the cache! Took Geobear Cub Coin. TFTC #13

Well, think I found GZ, but unable to 'feel' the cache or spot any likely hiding places. With dozens of muggles about (and as also mentioned in a previous log, the people on the verandah across the road who must permanently camp out there!) couldn't take a proper look around. Guess I haven't got enough caches under my belt yet to know instinctively what to look for. Will have to come back with Noddy and try again another day.

Had an appointment nearby, so thought I'd give this cache a quick try. No luck... Tried again after the appointment... Still nothing! As I sat on the steps contemplating the clues, logs and options, saw another person who was evidently also a cacher, since he was hovering around #1 with a phone in his hand! He wondered off when he saw me watching! Finally found the cache on the third try. What an unusual cache-i nearly overlooked it! TFTC #12

Followed suggestions per previous logs and parked near Montview Oval before starting off down the fire trail. Got to about 15m from GZ, when the compass seemed to indicate that we should head off the path and straight over the cliff edge! Not being brave enough to risk sliding straight down into the valley, we spent about 45min beating around the bush (literally!) before we finally found GZ and the cache. SLTNLN then headed back through the bush toward the path. This time we took the route which should have used in the first place and within about 5mins we were back on the path again!
Treefrog cachekinz was not in cache today although it is listed.
TFTC, the great views over Berowra Valley Regional Park, and the opportunity to enjoy this little walk which we would never have known existed.

Think we found GZ, but there were a couple of muggles canoodling (I think!) right on top of it! Will have to try again next weekend!

Nice easy find-the description and clue were very helpful for quickly locating GZ. Although there were no spiders in sight, still got the creeps when I stuck my hand in to retrieve the cache. Luckily no muggles too close by either. Took the Chimney Sweeper geocoin. There were no other TB in the cache today (even though there are 4 other trackables listed in the inventory). TFTC #10
