This cache was one of our main stops on this road trip. I made the trip down from Spokane, Washington with AmplePeach, Stealth_Mom, and Majeda. We met up with the KKlndike Explorers and River Dwellers in Pocatello, Idaho and decided to we would do this one together after finding Southern Idaho's First, GC5C.
We had to get to this one a little bit differently than everyone else probably did. We had to come up from the South through Price, Huntington, and Orangeville due to a massive forrest fire that had closed some roads.
We found the right road (Millers Flat Road) and started to follow the Explorers up. Once we got to 8300ft my car (Mazda 6) started to act funny (Fuel Pump doesnt like the elevation, known issue with this vehicle). We are 4.40 miles from the cache with a dead car, great. The Dwellers kept going and made camp. After an hour of waiting the Explorers came and got us (now 7pm).
We arrived at the cache site just as the sun was going down. We all signed the log and took some pictures. The campground was very nice. I would definitely make the trip again.
Thanks for keeping this one alive! I sure enjoy finding old caches. This one will get a favorite from me!

I have had this cache on my list for quite sometime. I need this month/year for the Jasmer Challenge. I was in town for the block party with family and friends. We decided that today was the best day for the hike to this cache. We started at the Barlow Pass Trailhead. 3.75 miles from there to Monte Cristo. I really enjoyed the hike on the way. It was very nice crossing the river over the log! Monte Cristo was very cool! Thanks for keeping this one alive!
