Road Trip Caching with Zanna to Florida - Day 2 of 4. It's Zanna's Birthday today! We got caught in a traffic jam on the bridge on Overseas highway for about an hour. We made the very best of it for sure!
Headed to the Keys to get the Virtual Southernmost and to get the Oldest in Florida. Zanna planned out a fun trip that would pick up unique spots and fill in some counties and fun webcams. Had a great time all weekend. Saw the sun go down at the southernmost spot and enjoyed a delicious dinner at El Meson de PEPE - which I would highly recommend.
Thanks for your cache along our route

I can't believe I came to Mingo. YAY! Really! Big excitement swelling in me the whole morning as I headed to GZ. It was windy and chilly and I was happy dancing!
Thanks to all the cachers that make sure this stays alive and the CO for maintaining year after year.

I set out for a Geocation & visit/help my dad in Alaska journey on Sept 3. With a mission of course..... My goal was to get my 50th state cache which would be in Hawaii our 50th state. My route wasn't as simple as a flight on a plane to get there. With an additional task of making sure I have a minimum of 10 caches in each state that I've cache in I would have to also backtrack into some states I hadn't already accomplished that.
Travel route began from Dacula GA to Tucson (by way of a little North, west, and south). Stayed in Tucson, AZ a few days to cache and hang out at the pool.
Tucson to Hawaii. That was my biggie! GC23 was the oldest cache and I went for it too. Hawaii to Cordova, Alaska. Spent time with my dad in AK. Hid a few caches and then driving my dad for our annual trip from Cordova to Tucson, AZ. Long journey! But oh wait. Barrow AK was only a couple hour flight away from Anchorage after the ferry from Cordova. Let's do that and get those caches way up North to fulfil that dream! Done. Then the trip down the ALCan hwy to the lower 48. While traveling we saw that only a couple hour jaunt north would get me a NW territory cache. So we did that ! Then back south and on the AlCan hwy again. Caching along the route seeing so many beautiful sceneries. Not much snow this trip. Beautiful fall colors and caches that brought us to interesting pull offs and scenic places . Once we made it to the lower 48 it was time to do a few trails and head to Gooding ID to see family. Slip over to WY for a few smilies and drive. Then headed south to Cedar City UT more family and more caching. Finally on the 31st day of the journey we made it back to Tucson. My dad has learned traveling with a cacher is slower. But he is getting older so he doesn't need long car rides without breaks anyway!! At least that's the story I fed him. After Tucson my adventure home was caching and camping my way back to Georgia just in time for the annual Going Caching Mega Event.
I traveled and cached in 27 US states, 2 Canadian Territories, and one Canadian Province. The highlights were Hawaii and Barrow, AK (being the northernmost geocache, seeing the tundra in person a polar bear, snow, and super nice Eskimos that treated us so nicely). I used the earth and virtual caches to bring me to amazing places. Approx 11000 vehicle miles and 12000 air miles. A big handful of new friends and lots of smilies.
A million thanks to each CO and fellow cachers for placing and maintaining the caches along my route and giving me the drive and inspiration to come up with crazy goals and new "geo-dreams"!

It was a blast being part of the Gritty Girls team with my caching buddies from Georgia, Leafer54, Zanna, and Ihff. We started in Vegas for the Gritty Girl trail caching adventure on 4/12 and ended back up in Vegas on 4/20. So excited to start our tour with the ET Hwy trail, NV cacher series caches, and the Geo Art in Rachel. Then we did HMD, Route 66, ElDorado and other specially found or small trails. Many fun laughs came out of our van during this trip. Our team was pretty well oiled, We rotated positions hourly so no one got bored or tired. I loved jumping the most.
We lucked out on our entire trip getting ideal weather. We pushed our rental car to the very very maximum most days.
Power Trails rock - I love the speed and energy. Always ready for the next. Thanks to all who maintain the trails and come up with the ideas and place the new caches out there to add to our crazy adventure
