Logs for Species5618

Since dak's Emu Mob lost his fight with cancer back in July of 2008 this cache has been in decline without a local maintainer. I finally reached out and sent out some emails hoping to find someone who would be willing to be my local maintainer. Almost immediately TeamThommo wrote me back and enthusiastically volunteered for the job! Big GrinCool She has now replaced the cache and it is now in good condition and ready to find.
I would like to take a moment to remember dak's Emu Mob. He was a good friend and has been missed. Sad

Paleopal and I found this cache on our way back from a three night stay in Las Vegas. We came down for a quick vacation between semesters ( We both work at a college). Our main goal was geocaching the area while seeing the sights and to do some of the E.T. Highway caches on our way home. This was the Power trail portion of our trip. We are not big on numbers but more about quality caches. Every now and then it can be fun to go to the dark side and do a power trail. Surprised Since we were near the (in)famous E.T. Highway we decided we would give a short section of it a try. We set a goal of 200 E.T. caches and found the first 217 of them. I started out running out to find each cache but that didn't last long and I started a using a quick but more leisurely pace. Unlike most people we dated the logs and Paleopal added color to the stamped log entries as is her usual habit. We averaged 1:27 for each cache, [xx(] I know that is not that fast compared to the hardcore power trail cachers but we were happy with our pace. By the time we had met our goal we were ready to quit and move on down the road. Next time maybe we can do 300! Razz
Thanks to Clay4&whtwolfden for the hide.
May you always find that which you seek.

Paleopal and I found this cache while we were heading to Las Vegas for a week of geocaching fun. Along the way we camped out near Mono Lake and of course found several geocaches along the way. We did have to be careful not to stop too often along the way otherwise we would take the whole week just getting to Vegas. Surprised We made it a nice two day trip with lots of stops, caching and non-caching instead of a long nine hour plus drive.
This was a strange cache for us. We found a film can cache right away when we got there. After opening it appeared to be an E.T. Highway film can. Could it be a throw down cache from someone who couldn't find the cache? It certainly was not a Two-litre bottle preform as described on the cache page. We looked around some more in hopes of finding the original cache. Is it still there or is this now the sanctioned cache?
Thanks to Moose Mob for the hide.
May you always find that which you seek.

Since the imformation boards have gone missing I have added the nessesary information and posted pictures of the original signs in the cache description.
So it is now a kind of armchair multi.

Lil Devil wanted to swing by on our way north to grab this cache since it is the oldest cache in the area. We also met up with another out of town cacher while we were there.
On this day there were two event caches one at Logan's Roadhouse in Citrus Heights held by RCGDS and one at Logan's Roadhouse in Chico held by the NUTS. It was just too tempting to not go to both. So Lil Devil, Angel, Paleopal and TeamBnE headed up to Chici after the RCGDS event and did a little geocaching on the way.
This was the third cache of 5 during our little road trip..

Sorry for the late log but life has been busy and I am just now catching up on my logs.
Thanks to Art Clark for the cache.

Found another Little cache in the CML area.
Thanks for the cache

What a great view!
This cache is in a great location.
Another small cache in CML (Cool Micro Land).
This would have been a good location for a regular sized cache.

Thanks for bringing me to the fantastic view.
I will remember this spot.

Such a small cache way out here.
Found it after a short search.
Thanks for the cache

We looked and looked and had to use the hint to refocus our search. After awhile I saw something that looked strange and there it was. TNLNSL
