this labyrinth was placed by the members of the deer isle, maine, congregational church. it is somehow fitting that they used "pot warp" (rope used by lobsterfishermen to tie their buoys to their lobster traps) to make their labyrinth. this is a fishing island. the labyrinth was placed here several years ago (and needs a little touching up.) i only found it this summer when i placed "labyrinth cache" (gcq6ax) here. cachers who have found the cache have had fun walking through the labyrinth.

this is the deer isle sedgwick bridge, spanning eggemoggin reach in penobscot bay, deer isle maine i go over this bridge at least two times a day, traveling to work the bridge was built in the 1930s and is in fair condition (having been tested this year) the state works on it pretty much constantly the fairings on the sides were added after it started swaying so badly that it had to be closed (it was one of the galloping gertie bridges) there is traffic going across it constantly, from bicycles to tractor trailers hauling huge granite blocks every time there is a bad storm, we expect it to fall into the reach the speed limit on the bridge is 25, but no one goes over it at that speed - usually more like 55, to get across before it falls i know people who refuse to cross it, but there are still plenty who do, as evidenced by the number of people who have moved to the island and built houses recently
