I was working at Westfield Riccarton mall at the time. I remember walking through the mall on my breaks and the surreal feeling as all the stores that sold TV's were full of people just standing there watching the events unfolding on the TV screens. There must of been 100plus people in each store. There was no music playing on the store radio that day either just news bulletins all day.
