10-Dec-05
Unfortunately the December 10, 2005 log for Highlands, NJ, shows a picture of the base of the already logged Matawan, NJ Doughboy (enlarge the picture of the GPS screen and you can read the map). The doughboy that actually stands at Highlands, NJ is not by Viquesney.

[Well, I guess this is sort of a find for this cache; it's a real Spirit of the American Doughboy sculpture by Viquesney, except that it's a miniature version of the famous statue. This version is a table lamp, a rarer item than Viquesney's popular 12" desktop statuette. Both were produced throughout the 1920s and 1930s. Judging by the eBay statistics I've been keeping, there are maybe a couple hundred of the statuette version still around, out of over 25,000 originally sold.
