### VACATION UK 2019 DAY 1 ###

After crossing the sea last night we (Mrs_Moose, cachedog Finnley and I) first drove to Leeds. A visit to the oldest webcam cache in the world is a must! A short walk from the parking lot to GZ. The webcam was located quickly. The square was almost full with the installation of the Pride festival, which is scheduled later in the week. Still we found a spot which was accessible and in the range of the webcam.

We continued with a walk through the city centre. Passing city hall we had a good look and found the information required to log the virtual cache.

After lunch we drove south to meet with our son, his girlfriend and her parents. During a walk we passed several caches. Unfortunately only one could be found. "Barlow lees lane" was logged.

CO's, thanks for these caches and showing us some very nice places!

This weekend the Geonutshells mega event in Prague, so Hebebe28, Repelsteeltje1975 (Mr. and Mrs.), Mrs_Moose and I took the air plane on Thursday and flew to the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic. It was already late in the evening, so we limited today's activities to diner and a drink in an Irish pub.

On Friday after breakfast we went to Vysehrad for a small tour. During the walk we found the traditional cache "Vysehrad", took some pictures at the new virtual, did hide for the rain shower, found traditionals "Bazilika sv. Petra a Pavla na Vysehrade" and "Posledni Vysehradska", had some coffee and enjoyed the great views. After the visit we went downtown for site seeing of the Charles bridge and Malá Strana. During our walks we visited the new virtual "Pražské Benátky - Prague Venice", event "JOHN LENNON - vzpomínka", a bar to warm up, event "FAB - Meet friends from Leipzig". Later we had dinner in a brewery and a drink during live music at a pub.

On Saturday I had some time left after breakfast, so I started with the mystery "Tyrsuv dum". Great cache! Next we went all together to the event "Deskohraní s agenty" and played a game (Osel) for a few hours. At lunchtime we done some geocaching nearby (tradi "Prvni menirna Metra Kacerov") and downtown (virtual "Sv. Vaclav virtual cache", mystery "Anglicky Slovnik / English Dictionary", virtual "Franz Kafka - mechanical bust" and tradi "Pohybliva socha Franze Kafky". After dinner we went to a cider bar, where at the same time also event "Meet & Greet in the InCider Pub 2.0" was held. We had a great evening with a cider tasting session and the talks with other geocachers.

Sunday is the day of the mega event. We started with a visit to the castle area and site seeing. This included a picture for virtual "Katedrála sv. Víta || St. Vitus Cathedral". Back in the city centre it was time for lunch. Afterwards the ladies went to a Christmas market and the guys went to Petrin. It was a tough walk uphill, but allowed us to log mysteries "Uprchlici" and "PraGeo - Petrin Cache". When walking to Strahov Monastery we found traditional "I love Geocaching in Prague". After a break at the monastery we went all together to the mega event, floating the nutshells and logging the lab caches. After the event we had a great time with our Czech friends during dinner and drinks in a local restaurant.

Unfortunately the next morning after the early breakfast (with champagne thanks to our friends Big Grin) it was already time to go to the airport and leave. But the dates for next year are already reserved!

CO's, orga's and friends, thanks for making this a great weekend in Prague! We loved it! See you next year again!!!

After a day resting we went to Gozo today. Wow, what a beautiful island! We worked on the Wherigo cache today, but unfortunately it was too long to completed. During this trip we did visit a lot of great places. Too bad the arch was gone...

Traditional "VV cache no 1" was the first cache we found on Gozo. What a great view on the fjord! The hole with the cache was quickly spotted. Of course nog mugglers closeby. They were all in the water!

At the next stop on Gozo we searched "Azura Coast", but unfortunately we could not find it. We managed to get the information of earthcaches "The DWEJRA - GOZO" and "A natural disaster ?". At the parking lot we also found traditional "Azure Park". All three caches with nice views on the shore!

The last stop on Gozo was traditional "The priest's view". We took a very, very steep road to get up. After a short walk we were at the cache location and could enjoy an evening view on Gozo. A fantastic vie up here!

After logging we drove back to the ferry. Lucky for us we now did not need to wait an hour to leave. At the B&B another dive in the pool to cool down. A very enjoyable day on Gozo! Thanks all for these caches, which guided us!

### The Great Baltic Tour of Moose61 and Hebebe28 ###

When we heard about the plans to organize a Mega event in Estonia Hebebe28 and I started to make plans for a trip to the Mega and countries in the area. Plans expanded, reservations were made and all plans were executed!

## Short overview: ##
**Tuesday June 28:** Hebebe28 and I traveled from the Netherlands to Tallinn in Estonia. No time for caching.
**Wednesday June 29:** Travel to Panevežys in Lithuania. Three hours to do some sightseeing and find 3 caches in Lithuania. In the evening travel to Riga in Latvia. Just enough time for a quick look around in the city and to find 2 caches.
**Thursday June 30:** A day in Riga with plenty of sightseeing, caching and exploring of restaurants and bars!
**Friday July 1:** After an event in Riga we took the bus to Tallinn in Estonia. There we started with the event of our Czech friends Geocule and Padlock. After the event we went to the centre of the city for a great Estonian beer (and find a few caches). Afterward we met some German geocachers, found some caches and a bar with 691 different kind of beers and a strange kind of coffee...
**Saturday July 2:** Took the train to the Mega event in Saue. Had a great day meeting new geocachers and old friends. Searched for some traditional and the LAB caches in Saue and Laagri. It was a great sunny (and hot) day! Found an additional cache at the steam loc at the railway station.
**Sunday July 3:** Took the boat to Helsinki in Finland. First cache of the day was SunGear, a traditional 25km north of Helsinki hidden in the year 2000. Some sightseeing in Helsinki, of course including some geocaching. In the evening we went back to Tallinn.
**Monday July 4:** Time to explore the center of Tallinn. The geocaches took us to the best places!
**Tuesday July 5:** After getting some good tasting chocolate we explored the towers of the old city. After the cache was found it was time to travel to the airport. In the evening we did fly back to the Netherlands. End of a fantastic journey!

*Thanks all CO's and orga teams for the super caches and events. They gave us a great week of geocaching and relaxing!*

## Cache note: ##

Sun Gear was one of the main reasons to come to Finland during our trip. It was also the first cache we visited. Now Scotland is the only country in Europe fto visit for a cache hidden in 2000.
Getting to the cache was not too difficult (although the paths leading to the cache was pretty muddy on some places), also finding it was no issue. The main problem here were the muskito's and the ugly flies which wanted to stab us.
After logging we rushed back to the bus, leaving the beasts behind for the next geocachers...

Natuurlijk!

Finally after more than a year planning now the trip to Seattle. Last year the trip to Seattle was cancelled, now a second try. A visit to Monte Cristo was high on my list, so at the first day here the trip to Monte Cristo was made.

It was a long walk in the beautifull valey. Temperature was high, making the trip a bit harder. At GZ my gps spinned a bit around, so it took a while before I spotted the cache. Another month filled for the Jasmer challange.

Last year I wanted to go to Utah to search for Potters Pond. Unfortunately it did not wanna be that way. This year a new attempt. Made it to the US and arrived yesterday in SLC. Today a trip to Potetrs Pond. The travel to the valley itself is great. Arriving at Potters Pond al lot of warnings for black bears. Didn't like that. They are fun to look in the zoo, but no need to meet them in the wild.

The first challenge was to find the correct path to the cache. After a little looking the path was found and the trip to the cache was a succes. Halfway a deer was scarely run away. That means most likely no bear nearby, else it wouldn't have been there.

The cache was found in a good condition. After an entry in the logbook and some pictures the trip to the car was quicker tha to the cache.

Another month filled for the Jasmer challenge. Three more to go. If everything works out correct end of next week the Jasmer challenge should be completed.
