Woohoo, we did it! Eight years later and we were able to put this right and complete the Triad. So happy to be able to do this cache at last.
The walk through the tunnel probably took us an hour, but it didn't feel like it took that long. We just kept our pace going, pausing once to grab the cache inside the tunnel itself. It was very cold in there and pretty hot outside, so that made for a confusing experience! I was in shorts and a T-shirt, but Mzebonga produced a poncho which helped a lot (I had left my pack-a-mac in the car--d'oh!). Slurpeedkid played some tunes off her phone for the last few hundred meters which got our spirits up a little more when the fatigue began to set in.
After a rest and a photo op, we were off again towards the APE cache. The very familiar area came into view and soon we were uncovering the cache. Mzebonga took a moment to call his mum in the UK, Evil Edna, so she could share in the moment.
I dropped off a small bag of TBs into the cache as they did not want to leave North America. After doing the usual business, we hung out here and admired the view, basking in the sense of achievement (and the warm sun!).
What a great day to celebrate this caching milestone. I'm glad we were able to do this together as a reformed Team Awesome. Many thanks for your work in getting this cache reinstated.

This was my 7th earthcache find during my two full days in Edinburgh--impressive! After checking out the castle in the morning, it was cool to view it from another perspective (and get a geology lesson to boot!). Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful park :]
Mzebonga and I included this cache along our route this afternoon so we could walk by each sculpture and make note of the information we needed. As the rain came down, we found a sheltered spot to work out the coordinates. Fortunately, we picked a good spot because we were a mere 30m away! We took note of the hint and Mzebonga easily made the grab. Thanks for putting this together and bringing us to this lovely park.

Mzebonga and I visited this site the day we arrived in Edinburgh, but by the time we decided to go for a walk to this cache, the gates were closed for the day. We were out and about this evening after a great day in Holyrood Park and decided to give this one another go. It ended up being our sixth earthcache that day--awesome!
