Somerset, Pa
This globe is unique in the fact that it is always rotating. I can remember of a globe being in this location for about 30 years or so. I think someone else had it before the present owners. There may have been some years when it was not there, However I do not remember for sure.

This dam is the Quemahoning Dam. It was used to supply water to steel mills in Johnstown, Pa. They have closed or reduced operration and it was no longer to there advantage to keep ownership. A couple of years ago the CSA ( Cambria Somerset Authority ) was formed by Cambria & Somerset counties to buy it. It is now open to public fishing and ther is some recreation opertions in use now, with more development going on. Also plans are started to run water lines south to supply others with water to replace or add to there systems. There is some supplyed to the north from when the mill owned it.
