Description

Geomorph

is an ancient
Gnome

brought to life in the
Plasticene Era
from malleable earths of all colours

Unlike normal Gnomes, who are forever frozen in time and space, Geomorph has special magical powers. He can move from place to place and he can morph into new poses and even new creatures!

But he needs your help!

1. Help him to move.
Give him a ride to a new location and log his new co-ordinates here.
Please move him on within 2 days of finding.
Initially Geomorph is part of the GeGnome project and is keen to cover as much distance possible, as quickly as possible. But long term, he would also like to visit places of interesting Geomorphology
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomorphology

2. Help him to morph.
Strike an interesting pose.
Tilt his hat.
Let him hold something interesting.
Change his clothing.
Or even morph into a whole new creature!
Geomorph has a difficulty rating of 3 on the grounds that you may not know what he looks like until you find him!

3. Send messages back home when you log his new location.
Write a short story about his journey.
Upload a photo of him in his new location and new look.

Geomorph thanks you for your assistance and wishes you well in your future caching adventures.

Logs

02-Jul-13
Geomorph melted away long ago, but his log book carried on.
Now it is time to say farewell for good.

01-Jul-13
After consultations with the last finder, he says that he did indeed have Geomorph, but has since then moved house and cannot find him. Seems likely to have fallen foul of the dreaded lost while moving curse!

31-Dec-11
Found the little guy while seeking a different cache. Laughing
Will move him on.

30-Nov-11
Moved 16.94km
He's been resting in the car for too long, time to get back on the road. Actually I think he was upset about the upcoming frog invasion.

He's now sitting in a park behind some netball courts.

15-Nov-11
With the benefit of daylight Anna went out this morning while I was having a coffee and managed to locate the container, well hidden inside some shrubbery. So the gnome has been gnabbed. Certainly a different one to find a home for. Cheers.

14-Nov-11
OK, Darren has hidden it somewhere at my house and I don't know what it looks like. Assuming it is in the front yard a bit of a look with a torch didn't show anything obvious including underneath the shrubbery. Still that's why he placed it here, and hopefully can find in the morning before work.

Previous gnome placements have either been waiting for me on the front step or in the corner where easy.

If I don't log a find, please don't trash the neighbour's yards if you go for it, it's in 29 Pine St somewhere.

Dropped in to a gnown gnome hotspot. I wonder if he'll find it Twisted Evil

12-Nov-11
Damn, he's morphed into one ugly mess. Will drop off somewhere soon.

12-Nov-11
Found with spindoc, sadly we couldn't find the cache nearby
Spindoc said he would move soon

04-Sep-11
Still resting in his new home. Decided to leave him here in memory of VVV (which is allegedly only 2 metres away?!). TFTC

Yup, moved the fragile gnome to this nice spot. Great views. I left with him giving me a nice droopy smile Dancing

25-Jul-11
Another Gnome in the bush. This one was found cowering under a rock. With all the playdo, he's probably glad he's in a cofin Laughing

Geomorph came on a little walk with me. He scurried off along the track and ducked into the scrub.

'Geomorph' has now reached his destination, he seems to be very pleased with this spot and intends to make the best of it.
Quite surprisingly he proved very adept at tree climbing, how he does it is anybody's guess.

14-Jul-11
'Geomorph' has now left the Leura transport hub. He is well on his way to his new assignment and will advise of his new location very soon. He seems in great spirit and eager to get going.

Geomorph is now passing through lovely Leura.

But he won't be here for long.

There's a GFF mission to undertake . . .

14-Jul-11
Geomorph needs to be on his way now, to attend to GFF business.

And I'm glad to help.

Next stop, Leura.

'Geomorph' decided to hang around the GFF Gnome Holiday Resort for a few days before carrying his new duties as assigned to him by the new GGA (GLF-GFF Alliance). He is well pleased with the results of the Mt Victoria conference and will enjoy some well deserved R&R.
Don't go looking for him, the location of the Holiday Resort is Top Secret, so you won't find him at the co-ords.

We found this gnome while attending the Blue Mountains Gnome Event. TFTG

02-Jul-11
Went for a drive today to catch up with a few gnomes that I heard were gathering at an event in the Blue Mt's. Something about the GLF and GFF calling a truce.

Meet a few gnoming aficiandos and even eat my way through a couple of gnome cup cakes (Thanks to Just a Cacher for those) while signing (almost) all the logs.

A great way, and a great spot, to spend an hour or 2.

Thanks to all who attended, great to meet you, along with the gnomes.

02-Jul-11
'Geomorph' was one of the delegates at the Mt Victoria meeting between the GLF and the GFF. He tried to make a speech but since he morphed into a blob no Gnome could understand him! The MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was duly signed by the 50 Gnomes present and every Gnomes went on his way very happy with the result.

02-Jul-11
Logged what is left of Geomorph at the GLF/GFF GCA Gnome event in the Blue Mountains.

Left him with rogerw3, who escorted him off One Tree Hill.

I'm sure he's in safe hands . . .

I wonder why I'm the only one heading up this hill? Everybody else is coming down. Maybe the sun setting has something to do with it?

Under the burnt log.

316. It really was a very pleasant morning to be walking around Mt Majura in the very pleasant company of Mrs Winglen. Interesting that tomorrow our views are expected to be a lot less expansive and more submersible. Didn't think that I had the right object and not sure how much air he gets but appears okay if a little warped.

TFTC and the eus.

18-Jun-11
Found this on a pleasant morning's walking around Mt Majura with McPhan. About time this power trail moved somewhere else I think! Thanks for the gnome Very Happy

14-May-11
Found along with 4 other gnomes on the gnome power trail up the hill. Like the idea of a gnome power trail, and like the views, so left him there.

This guys colours are MORPHING together a bit, he looks cute like that.

Another find along the Mt Majura gnome power trail. TFTG

GCA 128 - 3885. A walk up Mt. Majura for some Gnomes and a GC Cache !

Parked the car and started up the familiar walk up the road. After some finds and a couple of DNFs I was happy to make this find !

TFTC !!

26-Apr-11
Found with SecretSquirrel-BJC as we headed up to the GC cache at the top of the hill.

26-Apr-11
A lovely walk up the hill to find a GC cache and found the gnomes as a distraction on the way up - a good way to break up the walk.

Left gnome in same place - did not move

Out enjoying the culture of the National Museum. But he has gone by now

06-Mar-11
Poor Mr Geomorph! He looks more like a Geoblob now, and the weather has cooled down, so he isn't easily malleable any more. He was very happy to join the crowd in the van.

05-Mar-11
2 Canberra gnomes kidnapped by the GGG (GNOME-MARE!!! & Mr Bump), with the aide of of a forward observer stationed at Oberon (Heave-Ho) formed the Gnome Liberation Front, and convinced a cadre of gnomes currently resident in the Blue Mountains environment, that their services were required in the ACT.

This led to a call being placed by the GLF for a mass extraction of the gnomes and various pickup points were organized. The gnomes had a long march from their various Lithgow detention points and a few gnomes were left in the region to gather intelligence in case of a need for future pickups.

Look for these gnomes to start appearing in Federal relief agencies as experts on the Flood recovery and CRPS programs.

Geomorph's shape changing ability will be greatly advantageous in the area.

Found this poor fella resting quietly in Lithgow. A quick find, while on a invasion of the nearby area with Blackbunny and Just a cacher TFTC

Geomorph has been moved, very gently due to his medical condition (melting syndrome) he his in his own container to hopefully better protect him. You will find him just off the road on the talus face.

Sadly poor little Geomorph is no longer able to travel on his own, He had a rough journey so far, but the heat wave of the last few days have taken their toll, so from now on Geomorph will travel in his own coffin to protect him as well as possible

Geomorph was with 41 other gnomes at the event but he decided to go home with someone else. He also tried to swallow up Jake who was stuck to his hat.

05-Feb-11
Another great event today. On a stinking hot day in homebush oveer 40 gnomes showed up and looked to be having a great time especially this little guy. Oh yeah there where some fun people there aswell.

Looks like a couple of gnomes may have followed us home and there locations will be updated soon.

Thankyou to the organisers and who ever gave this little guy a lift. Looking forward to the next event.

05-Feb-11
Found at the Post Gnome race get together today. It was there with 41 other gnomes who had heard about the event.

05-Feb-11
I found this guy stuck to the table at the gnome party so while he was unable to get away from me, I managed to sign his log

05-Feb-11
Attending the post race gnome party at Homebush this was one of MANY new to us gnomes we found on the table. Fun little gnome, he didn't morph today but maybe next time. tftg

05-Feb-11
Geomorph is on his way to a nice convalescent home, the poor thing a melted in today's heat and is unrecognisable, I will see what can be done to stabilise his condition, but some cosmetic surgery may be required. This could take a few days but he will recover and be on his way soon.

Dropped him off at Leura Station on my way back from the gnome farewell! But a local gnome-gnapper was close at hand to take him away again!

05-Feb-11
Found among the 41 other Gnomes at 'The GeGnome Project - Post Gnome Get Together!' A great time was had by all, even the Gnomes and they spent their time having logs and other things pushed up their nether regions at least for most of them. A great way to see Gnomes that I would not have been able to get to otherwise. Poor Geomorph looks nothing like he did at the start, the 40 degree heat got to him and he has melted a bit!

05-Feb-11
I encountered this little gnuy at the The Gegnome Project-Post Gnome Get Together at Homebush Bay! He was one of an amazing variety of 42 gnomes in attendance on the day, at Wentworth Commons -- and a few gnome-mad geocachers attended as well . . . The scorching 41 degree temperatures didn't dent our enthusiasm.

Congratulations to all those battle-hardened gnomes who survived the rigours of the recent competition and our condolences to the owners of those who suffered injuries and/damage or who were finally declared 'missing in action' . . .

This gnome can now take a very well-deserved break, doing whatever it is that gnomes do when they take well-deserved break . . .

05-Feb-11
Another new gnome, caught up with him at the gnome event today and got to sign the log. Good to see an SA gnome over here.

05-Feb-11
Well what a party that was! There were way more gnomes (42!!!) than cachers (maybe 10 teams, about 20 people) and things almost got out of hand Surprised Luckily some of the gnomes who attended were able to keep a bit of control - Bruce the Gninja, GeoPirate, Gno-mad, Gnome-Mare and Geolady were big enough and tough enough to exert some authority.

I met Goemorph who was feeling very soft in the high temperatures - hope he can hold it together for long enough until the cooler change tonight! I'm a Gnome, duh!

We held a ballot to see who would go home in which car and Geomorph agreed to take pjmpjm.

After an exhausting day shopping at Chadstone, I found a lovely large 3 pronged tree to rest under in this lovely bushy park.

27-Dec-10
Found him still sitting under the bush here. Must have been the lack of exercise has made him a bit more blobby than he looks on the picture.
Will put him on an exercise program for a couple of days to tone him up before we put him out again.

09-Dec-10
@cached - just search the movable ones, are you going to request ALL the Gnomes without Gnome in their name to have name changes?

09-Dec-10
Looks like it was our turn to get beaten tonight. No sign of a small one!

09-Dec-10
can you put "gnome" in his name? I would have found him today, but it was difficult to search for these by cache type and so could only search by name, "gn" was usually enough. You may be disadvantaging yourself by not having it in your name!

He looks like a great gnome, would love to find him!

03-Dec-10
We did find him with Ma77hew, sadly he is in a bad way on his way to hospital with heat stroke, i will upload photos later, i am currently running back and forth between 2 sick gnomes we found today Sad

Sorry his photo is not really Geomorph but a duplicate, I just wanted a reason to play with plasticine, sadly though I do not think geomorph will last much longer, he was a mess, stained our hands, runny yucky mess, but a great idea

03-Dec-10

Geomorph survived the introduction to the kids with only a minor change to his costume. He now has a new bobble on his hat and an orange left boot. I'm a Gnome, duh!

A little tweak to his beard, arms and hat were almost lost when he was left in the car and became melty... Shocked

01-Dec-10
What a malleable fellow! Hopefully he'll survive his introduction to my kids! Twisted Evil

Awesome idea. Clapping

Found without too much hassle and I offered him the protection of my umbrella before a thunderstorm arrived.
