Description

Reverse Geocache

What is it?
This youtube video is of an American one and explains the concept well
Basically I give you the cache and you have to take it to the secret GZ location to open it. It contains a GPS, LCD, batteries and a button. When you press the button it turns on, tells you how far away from the secret GZ location you are and turns off. If you are at GZ it opens. And after three distances have been calculated it stops telling you how far away you are. If you don't know where GZ is by this stage you get a DNF...

So how do you get it?
See below in the logs for who's currently got it
Then send me an email, see me at an event or leave a note on this page and I will arrange some way of getting it to you.
Note: This is NOT to be passed from cacher to cacher. It has to come back to me between finders so I can reset it and change GZ location.
It will usually be somewhere in Adelaide but will travel to other parts of the state when I do. I will post a note on this page if I'm taking it somewhere with me.
If your visiting Adelaide from interstate send me an email and I will arrange to have it available while your here.

Swaps
Ok, the number of swaps in the cache is getting a bit ridiculous. So much so that they interfere with the opening mechanism and make it impossible to get the lid shut. So can people please not add swaps to the cache unless they take one that is physically bigger out.

This is the forum topic about it
Thanks to winterdragon for testing it for me

If you have enjoyed this cache please press the "Recommend" button on the right side of the page! (After logging your find that is!)

Well, without a doubt, my favourite GCA cache so far.
In Adelaide for a couple of days so contacted the CO who kindly offered to drop the cache to me at the GC event last night. I did some work on it on the way back to the hotel and came up with a Likely GZ. Headed down this morning with one try left and got the message I was hoping for.
Added my name to the book and now to arrange return
Thanks so much for this great cache.
*Overall Experience: 5*

05-Jan-18
Well, I’ll be in Adelaide from 17th to 19th January from Perth and would love to have a go but not sure how to make it happen.
Please send me a message if there is a way we can make this work ?

A huge thanks to Laighside Legends for responding to my query so quickly! We arranged a drop-off at my accommodation and had a delightful chat about caching as well as the specifics of this magical little box. It sat in our possession for two days before time became available and the weather and children were kind. Our first coords were a good starting point then we drew a nice circle and sussed out two potential spots. We tried one, were wrong, then tried the other. Oh so close! A little GCA trickery and tada! A glorious place to be brought to on what was a spectacular morning. I got nervous at this point - what if I'm wrong? I think I know what I'm doing, but really, I'm not that confident. Make the spiderling push the button, yeah, then it'll totally be all his fault if it's wrong. Right? Ok, it worked and I'll just usurp the glory from the innocent spiderling. Tap and the genie came out. The log was signed, the spiderling played with the toy soldier inside before both were returned and the black box sealed up for the next finder. Thanks for our first Reverse geocache! The best fun. Hopefully we'll see you again at the Melbourne MEGA this November!

I'm travelling to Adelaide for a family holiday from the 29th to the 5th - any chance you're free and I can have a go at my first reverse geocache?
Thanks,
Mummy Short Legs

What a lovely geocache. Well done Ben. This is the first GCA I have found in sometime - found with four-fun under the whooshing wind farm blades in the Edithburgh area under starry clear skies. We got there in the end, taking all the shots and then some by driving this way and that in the zone.

Clear skies!

10-Jun-17
Found down edithburg way on a lovely starry night, accompanied by the eery noise of the wind turbines spinning nearby overhead!
Thanks for the fun experience with this marvellous piece of technology LL, definitely a good way to spend some time after a dinner event & before the 2.30 am planned flash mob [^]
Cheers

28-May-17
Yea sure, I'll bring it along to June LWE!

28-May-17
Any chance this cache may be in the Edithburg area on the June long weekend? Pray

27-Mar-17
In Adelaide this week, any chance of giving this one a go?

09-Feb-17
I am coming over in the next couple of days. Will this cache be available.

03-Nov-15
The reverse geocache will be at the Melbourne Mega event if anyone is interested in having a go...

Thank you Laighsite Legends for the interesting cache.
Luckly the cache opens even after use of all attempts:P coz I used them all.
my first reading of the screen was on Dr. Owls event. unfortunately I didnt take note of exact coord ... wich is critical for calculation. ... 3056m
second at home... 8284m
third on the way to work 84m
fourth next day 155m ( dam I choose the wrong one, should think about it more)
fifth coordinates were based on last two readings and took me under trees :/ where it took ages get satlock and result in msg. u failed!
sixth attempt was just 10m next to my GZ in open area. surprisingly number of sat. was for while only one. but luckly for me the cache OPENED!
with sence of satisfaction I signed log book and safely closed.
Thank you Ben for the experience

When my wife told me we were going for a holiday in Adelaide I looked up the GCA caches in the area and this one was a must do. With some time this morning, I picked up the cache and on pursuing the button I found that I didn't have too far to go. I went to find another cache on my list and while there I took my second reading.
With two plausible locations I went to what I thought was the less likely but slightly closer one first and was happily surprised with a congratulation message on my third press. Log signed and cache re-closed it was now a matter of organising to return it.
Thanks Laighside Legends for the challenge and for being so accommodating for those of us only on town for a short time.

17-Aug-14
From when we first saw this cache, it was on our "must attempt" list. As we were to be in Adelaide for an extended visit, we arranged with Laighside Legends to have access to the cache for a short period of time. We collected the cache at an event last evening and in between other commitments today, we went to three locations, activate the geocache and collected the required information. When then processed the infomation but the results we obtained were a little inconclusive and probably reflects the inherent inaccuracies in GPS devices. There were some results which were quite close to one another and we decided to try these as the location for our fourth guess. After a short drive, we got to the fourth location expecting to get further data to refine our search coordinates. To our surprise and delight, we got the "Congraulations" message - we had found the right location. We were very careful to ensure that we opened the cache container without mishap and we signed the logbook. The view from GZ at sunset was magic,a fitting end point for this experience. Thanks Laighside Legends for a really great caching experience - your reverse geocache is a wonderful construction. The South Australia Reverse Geocache is a caching experience that we recommend most highly to all geocachers.

What a fantastic cache! I sat on this cache for about a month as it wasn't finding satellites when I first tried. So, after some helpful advice from LL, I tried again and it worked!
First press - 14.2km
Second press - 200m (woo hoo!)
Third press - 150m
Fourth press - 300m
Final press - CONGRATULATIONS
Boy that was close! This was a fantastic cache and I'd recommend it to anyone. Thanks LL!

Owl had solved this cache with Locuscache some time ago, but the magic box didn't open, even though they had the right location. The CO was at the Yorke Peninsula caching get-together today and kindly allowed Owl to log it. An interesting concept and puzzle.

20-Jun-14
It took me 3 trips to do this and a little over a week, mostly because I had a bike accident between 2nd and 3rd trip so was a bit too sore to event catch a bus let alone ride my bike.

Walking
1st (a) try in the carpark over the Central market, could not get a sat lock so it timed out.

1st (b) try Vic Square, it was close to an event where i picked it up. Took note of the co-ords and distance.

2nd try Hindmarsh square as I was waiting for the bus, made notes and off home I went. Got home did some calcs and decided that only 1 spot was likely, the other in the middle of the North Adelaide golf links.

by bike
3rd try - Close no cigar

4th try - further away the before. Home again and did more calcs to narrow down GZ. Pretty much had it to ~2m.

by bus
5th try get to the co-ords I worked out, and we have an open cage. Smile

Signed the log left a few PTs, and got the cache back to LL at the next event we were both at.

TFTC LL, it was a fun one to do.

18-May-14
Well this was an interesting little adventure. Pirate Peter of 3pir8es picked this one up at an event yesterday and kindly offered to have a crack at this one together.

I had wrongly interpreted some cryptic comments from LL as a hint regarding the final location, so we went back to the parklands this morning and took our first reading... which was considerably further away than I had hoped. Then the display went blank before my dawdling pen noted the distance Brick Wall. Still we felt we had enough significant digits.

Then it was off to the other end of the parklands for a second reading... hmmmm, further away. Still with two readings we now had two possible coordinates, and one looked likely.

Finally we drove to our suspected secret location and the button was pressed and a congratulatory note scrolled across the screen! Success, and shortly thereafter both signatures were in the log book.

Thanks LL for a unique cache experience!

Coruze alerted us to this reverse cache and had us booked in for the Saturday evening session at the Mega. We had heard of these types of caches but didn't quite know what was involved - so our interest was well and truly piqued Cool. After being out on the Wandering Heroes all day we had to be back in town for the 7.00pm unveiling. After a tweek by the CO at the start, the fun began with our companions coruze, troobloo, vk3gs&cc, the lost wanderers, kiara001 and Three field mice. The button was pressed and the fun began Very Happy . Continued on and in between the 2nd & 3rd button push, stopped at a vantage point to take in the fireworks display. We knew where we needed to be but a gate hindered our progress to the opening of this treasure chest. An SOS was sent to the CO and all the while we were thinking perhaps we'd done something wrong......but what?? The next day the CO confirmed we were in the right area & granted us access. A fantastic concept, one that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our thanks to Laighside Legends for the fun, we had a blast. Cheers

We heard about this cache, first from Calypso62 and Skyebomonkey, and then separately from Tronador. With so many recommendations, we had to see if we could try it as well.

Canary & I picked up the cache on Sunday morning, pressed the button for the first time (8km away!) then considered our options. Canary had a plan ready for how we would do this. We chose our direction, went for a drive, pressed again & found we’d managed to get even further away from the location!

Canary considered our options & gave me a choice. I chose one, he then outlined why he thought the other was better, so we went with his choice. Wisely as it turned out, as on our 3rd press of the button, we got the magic message of congratulations.

Thanks Laighside Legends, this was a great cache – an innovative idea to start with, and a very well executed one. And thanks Canary, for the company & the brains for figuring out what to do.

Highly recommended, if anyone gets an opportunity to play with this cache, take it!

PS: because we only heard about this one while it Murray Bridge & didn’t have an opportunity to read the cache notes, I hadn’t realised that the location was reset each time. Only realised that when chatting to Tronador about it afterwards, when it became obvious that we hadn’t ended up at the same spot. So I’m not giving anything away to future searchers if I add that we really liked the location we ended up at, the views over the river were wonderful.

4900!!!

What a great idea. I always love something different. We got lucky and found this on the third attempt.

Well done, Laighside Legends. Thanks for the delivery and collection service, too.

TFTC.

Found while at the Mega with coruze, troobloo, skullracing, the lost wanderers, kiara001 and Three blind mice. Was a very interesting night driving around trying to find this location. Thanks for the adventure and experience as this is our first GCA find and our first reverse cache!

18-Apr-14
Was invited along with Tronador during the Oz Mega 2014, and so glad to do so - was an awesome caching experience, thank you so much!!!

18-Apr-14
This has got to be one of the most fun caches I've done in along while. I met up with the CO at the Mega who gave me the cache and a set of instructions. I invited skybowmonkeytown, Calypso62 and geotooter along for the ride. We had the best time, and used our powers of deduction, with a little bit of simple geometry, triangulation, and geography. With a limited number of tries we made sure each go would get us closer to the coordinates required. We thought we had it on the 4th attempt and looked on in horror as we were 71m out just outside the lucky number of 60m. With one more attempt to go it was crucial we didn't stuff this up or a DNF would have to be logged. With a little more triangulation We agreed on a spot and were delighted to see the word Congratulations. having 3 seconds to open the cache I tapped madly on everything until the cache flew open. we were all so impressed with the concept of this cache. Just brilliant, made more so by the fun time had by all at night too. Thank you for the experience.

13-Apr-14
Message sent to owner, happy to have a go at this at the Mega.

10-Apr-14
Champs+1Monkey will be at the Mega, and would love to have a play with this...

08-Apr-14
The cache has been fixed up and will be available at the Oz Mega Event!

28-Oct-13
How on earth I mucked this up I do not know.

I did actually get myself to the right location which was a very busy round about near my home, I got the congratulation message and then when I tried to open the cache it would not budge. I tried it a number of times till I finally got a message saying no more attempts. Booo!!!!

I think it was user error though because while I tried to pull it open, I think I was meant to push it open or something like that. So here I am a little embarrassed to be the first person to log a DNF on this very cleverly constructed little cache.

Maybe if you will let me, ill have another attempt at this in the future.

Cheers for letting me have a go.

13-Sep-13
After a pub lunch on the 10th, Dr Owl and I decided to play with this cache.
Taking some coords, then driving again and then taking some more cords, between us we used all sorts of technology to work out where GZ might be.
Dr Owl couldn't be with me tonight when I tried the final press of the button, so she wasn't there to help me open the cache when that lovely Congratulations word came into view....which was an issue as the darned cache wouldn't open Sad
So we found the right location but couldn't sign the log book.
Thankfully LL allowed me to sign it at another event quite some time later (7/4/14), so now I can log the find and hopefully he will also allow Dr Owl the same opportunity in the future.

17-Jun-13
Completed this one with fishingmad during its visit to Whyalla with the CO for the Whyalla Get Together event. We both wish we trusted our first thought and it would have been one press less for us but really enjoyed the experience.

16-Jun-13
Thanks for bringing this one to Whyalla for us, we had alot of fun doing it. I am glad I had done some homework before hand knowing it was coming to town, but it still took us 3 shots. Very Happy

31-May-13
Greatly accepted the device from LL at the SAGA Awards. A practical experiment in trilateration. T_M loaded up a couple of waypoints then a quick handball to 4W to generate the third and we had a GZ to make for. All was going well until we spent 30 mins standing around in the rain waiting for satellite pick up followed by "Congratulations" and.........nothing. Already soaking wet we made for cover to contact the CO. With some tips from the CO we headed back out into the rain; "Congratulations" followed by some deft percussive maintenance and BINGO! Two scrawly slightly damp signatures made it into the book. A great concept LL (plagiarised or not) and congrats on the build. TFTC.

31-May-13
Tiger Muffin passed me a mysterious black box (I love these things, all sorts of interior goings on with a result at the end - How? What?), and told me to give it a shot on my way home as it should triangulate with his calculated GZs (more black box results). I don't know how well it worked, but he seemed fairly happy with the location, so off we went for a look. Eventually we worked out what to do and gave the lid an extra shove as the Very Happy sign came up. Swapped some bits and pieces, then went back to work, rather wetter than we had started out.
Thanks LL for an impressive piece of work. Clapping

19-May-13
For those who were wondering how dolphinhwii did it in 1 go yesterday, it turns out they didn't - just a mis-communication between us. They had one guess near the pub and then went straight to GZ. So they have equaled the best which was set by SneakySqueaky last year. No-one has managed to have there first guess at GZ yet.

On another note, the following names are in the log book but not logged online: Freddo, Honeysucker, Gum Ako, Eco Ako and ma7:7hew. These cachers may claim a smiley if they wish...
Dazzatron & Margieh have there names in there twice for some reason too...

18-May-13
After a Geocaching lunch we took off and on our first attempt were able to open the box. Thanks for the hunt. Smile

16-Apr-13
Mr. Green
Finally! This was a lot of fun. A few separate trips getting some triangulations happening, and we came up with a pretty sure GZ, went there, and got our congratulations message... and then couldn't get the container open. It took FOUR visits for us to finally do something right and it opened so easily on the fourth visit that we started to wonder what we were doing wrong the previous three times!
Swapped a pathtag for a pathtag, the cache is definitely chockers, maybe this is making the opening mechanism a bit tricky?
Anyways, we finally had success with an excellently engineered cache. Will get it back to the owner asap for the next players.

18-Mar-13
It's free for the next few weeks if anyone wants a go...

13-Mar-13
Found with M-SEZ while in town for a wedding. We had to make a second visit as we didn't realise that the lid needs a little encouragement when you happen upon the correct location. Thanks for the adventure!

13-Mar-13
We sat on this one for a while before finally attempting it on 8/3/13. We were at a wedding in the city with Ma77hew & Kay, so in the 3 hour gap before the reception the boys decided to duck away and have a go at this unique cache.

We pulled over in a random spot on the side of the road and pushed the button. Whaddaya know, 153m away! We saw a worthy landmark about this distance from us and decided this had to be it! Nope, now we were 269m away. Ma77hew did some funky calculations and we knew where to go.

Once at GZ, we had a bit of trouble tracking satellites, but on the third push we got the 'congratulations' message...then nothing happened. At the time we weren't aware that this didn't count as an attempt (should have read the listing) so we left GZ and decided we'd come back once we'd spoken to LL about it.

So...armed with a better understanding of how it worked, we're back today to claim our find. It took 4 pushes, but finally it locked on 4 satellites and with a jiggle of the lid we had it open! Signed the log, swapped some swaps, and away we go.

Well done on a fantastic cache. We loved it, great concept. TFTC

29-Jan-13
A very interesting cache idea.We had to use four tries before we finally got the win.We went to GZ on the Monday but had no luck in picking up any satelites, so returned the next day and had no problems getting it to open. Thanks for the journey.

04-Nov-12
We had determined GZ after our first test near Uni's place and the second near Medusa's. One of the possibilities was on private property in the hills, so we knew the other was correct. It took us a few days to get around to visiting GZ, but managed to squeeze it in today.
Within 20m of GZ there was a man who seemed to be living there, and who was watching us. We decided it didn't matter, so put the cache down, pressed the button, and waited. "Congratulations", but it didn't open. Sad Tried again, and the same thing.
A call to LL reassured us, and told us to tap on the lid. Unfortunately, this time it said we were 65m out Confused ! Tried 20m South then 20m North, then East. Still no luck. Finally, Medusa took the cache another 15m East and it opened - over 40m from our first "Congratulations".
Thanks LL for an interesting experience, and a well constructed device. I suppose you coded it in C or Basic, but I think next time you should use assembler, on a platform with a RISC processor based on a cleaned up version of the MIPS instruction set.

22-Oct-12
What a great concept and device. I arrived at my third press and got a congratulations message but failed the opening test. With trepidation I went for my fourth and final try...congratulations and Imanaged to open it successfully this time. Good one!

07-Oct-12
3 cars out driving around but when Driving around just be sure not to sit too close behind the first car as all of a sudden indicators is on and around the corner we go, Margeith had to have quick reaction times, as TheKellyGang dragged along behind.Pushing the buttons taking it in turns but one little Boy and Girl pushed the button when we did not need it pushed,( you do not push the Button until you are told children! LOL!) but finally in the end we were Pleased to See Congratulations appear we had completed the cache finding the Location. As we all waited for the door to open it was like waiting for a Jack in the Box to Pop up we waited, waited. But no after Knocking to see if someone was home the cache opened signed log which we Found with GumAko ,Tk2,Dazzatron and Margeith. thankyou for a different experience in caching.

07-Oct-12
Had a great time, lots of laughs and learnt a few tricks along the way.Found in the company of GumAko or is that EkoAko,The Kelly Gang,Dazzatron and Margeith.Well done, what a great use of technology and inovation, tftc.

Ok, the number of swaps in the cache is getting a bit ridiculous. So much so that they interfere with the opening mechanism and make it impossible to get the lid shut. So can people please not add swaps to the cache unless they take one that is physically bigger out.

Cache will be at YP cachers event tomorrow.

16-Sep-12
We had this handed to us at a recent event and this weekend was in town to give it ago, tried three locations, luckily we still had the three options, with a bit of tiangulation we soon had a GZ, after a short walk we got the message we were looking forward and the lid popped open. This was a fantastic cache with a twist one we will recommend people to try. Well done LL TFTC

31-Aug-12
happened to be in the right place at the right time on the june longweekend. Great cache loved it.

20-Aug-12
After being offered the cache a few times at previous events I finally decided to give the reverse cache a go.
Of course I stuffed things up badly and rested my work folder on top of the cache thus activating the readings and rendering it useless.
So take 2 was today and after taking two readings I had the choice of the centre of Victoria Square (what are the odds?) and another location. I opted for 'the other location' but despite accurate calculations and readings found myself still 90m away. Determined to not have to go back for a re-set the third time I decided to take a final punt and use up my last guess in a nearby location that looked likely as well. And luckily got the congratulations message!
Thanks LL for a great cache and a great bit of engineering!

09-Aug-12
Took our first co-ords in the backyard and our second set over on the hill on the far side of town Very Happy .
On our second attempt, we must have accidentally pressed the button, because after taking a photo of the view, it was on and had already found enough satellites Surprised ! Needless to say, it was a mad scramble for the pen and paper to take note of the numbers Pray .
Put them together at home and were shown a nice little place we hadn't been to for some years Cool .
Took chip. Left silver medallion. SL.
Loved the concept and the chance to play.
Thanks Laighside Legends Clapping .

03-Aug-12
Had my eyes on this cache for a while so I was please when LL handed me this to open at a Mega talk event the other night.

So off I went today to work out my hidden location. So the first time I press the button it said I had 2235m to go. Headed over to a great little spot that was in range and press it again. Wow the box opened and I still had two turns left. You think like me LL. And Fergusson Sq is one of my park and rest spots at lunch time.

Thanks so much for the fun

25-Jul-12
After the SA Puzzle Solvers breakfast I walked away with the mysterious black box and a task from Laighside Legends to find the right spot (with a hint that it was nto far from the city - very suitable for me, he is very accomodating).

My strategy was to take a reading from a distance, 11.3km in my case, except I was not prepared and I did not record the coordinates quick enough, so I wasted an attempt repeating the processes and collecting the information. A third reading in town (I was prepared this time), had me 1.4km away.

Using some web magic, I then had two possible locations, one was a little better than the other - so off for a walk at lunchtime. Unfortunately I could not get to my GZ, and it did not look right, so I braved the button and got told I was 170m away (I must be out of tries by now!). Standing in the middle of a park, I re-did the calculations and got a much better GZ.

Last time lucky! "Congratulations" - log signed!

Great work Laighside Legends, I am impressed with the work you have put into this and how well it works (not much to say about the operator!). I highly recommend for everyone to give it a go!

15-Jun-12
Yay!! Mr and Mrs matmob had 'words' about how to go about this cache - but in the end Mrs m's 'girly' (and in Mr's opinion, very non-mathematical or scientific) way won out. Got our first reading, then used a bit of assumption as well as map work, tried a second point only to discover we were nearly as far away as the first point! Back to the drawing board, and on the third try we saw the magic word 'Congratulations'! Very much enjoyed this cache - very very different and a credit to you LL. Thanks for your efforts in getting it to us.

09-Jun-12
Got to play with this today in the Clare area. Great concept and had a good time doing it.

Managed it with 2 pushes of the button. TFTC.

28-May-12
Took a while, but found it in the end. Great idea had a great time doing it and learnt a few things about google earth in the process. I can see a bit of work went into builiding it.
Did have a few problems getting sat lock, but got there in the end
TNLN
thanks for the fun

After a bit of thought I've changed this to a puzzle cache that way it is more "Adelaide located".
There are some Adelaide cachers who don't even look at the locationless list and those from interstate who do are probably sick of having this Adelaide cache in the list...

It is currently available if anyone whats to go next...

I was handed the intriguing black box at the Pub Lunch - Sushi's 888, and took the first reading from the front of my workplace that afternoon. Took the second reading at a stategically selected location on my way in to the city the next morning. The calculations resulted in two (both very likely) locations on opposing corners of the Parklands. Took a hunch on one of them, and was very happy to see the container click open! Thanks for a great cache LL!

21-Apr-12
Fun for all the family and so easy that even a baby could open it! Well, at least that's what happened for us.

Our first measurement was taken in Adelaide - 26.3 kms away. Hmm, ok closer to home then. The second measurement at home timed out but after we stopped all the kids crowding around it the box was able to get a decent peek at the satellites and told us we were 3015m away.

The great circles were drawn and showed two paddocks, one of which was more likely than the other. A quick trip down to the Amy Gillett Bike Track showed we were 180m away. We tried another spot before calling LL to confirm that we could still press the button even though we'd run out of attempts and that 60m was all we needed to get the box open.

Back at the car we placed the baby and the box on the boot while we marshalled the rest of the family. The baby promptly pressed the button on the box which responded with "Congratulations!" We'd parked the car at GZ without even knowing it!

Many thanks to Laighside Legends for a fun cache.

It will be at the June LWE event and I will give those who are from further away first go at it.

Trigg-a-Nomics is about to have a go at it in the next week or two...

I did the first guess with the owner but never wrote down the coords it gave me so took a reading from my GPS for that one. The second guess we tried was the Paskie side of Kadina about 1km out of town that said we were 13.7km away so went home done some calculations came up with 2 posibilitys one on the Moonta road the other on a dirt road between the Wallaroo-Tickera road and the Wallaroo-Alford road. Well we tried the more likely one of the Moonta road then told us that it was 87 Meters away so we knew we were on the right track so our next guess was on the back dirt road which was about that far away and that came back with the answer of 101 Meters so at that point I guessed we were done and couldn't get it open but decided to go back to the main road and were roughly 87 meters from our first guess on the Moonta road and roughly 101 form the second pushed it to see what would happen and it said congratulations and it popped open.

The most unique cache I have done in some time.

Thanks Ben for the Opportunity to give it a go.

After getting this from LL Dazz and I went on the search to crack the SA Reverse Geocache... Was very interesting working out exactly where it was going to finish... With a few trips back and forth to check the info we eventually came to GZ.. In the end it gave us the nod to say we were Correct and we put our names in the log book..
Thanks Ben for all the hard work you have put into this to get it working and allowing us to give it a go... Was really intriguing...

I'm up!

This is a great idea - good on you LL for getting it working! If you want a real challenge, we're going to the Daintree for Easter so I could try it out interstate!

Well the testing didn't quite go as smoothly as planned. First off I must've acidentally bumped the 'go' button when I was driving from my first location to the second, so I only ended up with two guesses. I still managed to calculate roughly the right location, and tried to open the cache in various spots there, but didn't quite manage to get within the allowable distance of GZ.

After a bit more tweaking by LL, I had a second try at the Pub Dinner, which went much better. In fact, it resulted in an open cache! Nice work Laighside Legends Smile
