Description
Overlooking the statue of Black Caviar is this wonderful Lyn Brown creation "The Pelican." It was donated by the Community Action Group who ran a competition to name the statue but unfortunately I have been unable to find out the winning submission.
Please provide a photo of yourself near the statue - it will be very tricky to get both of you in a picture so I am happy to just see you.
Logs
We were driving up to Shepparton for a weekend jaunt and we happened upon this location when we stopped for a comfort break.
A quick photo, only a short distance from Black Caviar and we were on our way again.
Thanks for this virtual cache today.

Little bit of camo at GZ.
Nearly missed Mr Percival in the trees.
Eventually got the right angle!

Second of the 2 GCA virtuals while on this evening's olive oil run. Another quick one at 19:20 and I was IGA bound.
Thanks once again The Morris.

Out and about en route to visit family in Corowa. Lovin' life, coffees and caches, waymarks and photos, taking the roads less travelled. Does it get any better than travelling this great land of ours?
Really enjoyed visiting an area which I hadn't visited for years. Arrived at the start of a major fishing weekend. After the prerequisite coffee, I went for a stroll taking a few pics and grabbing a few caches along the way. Also managed to get my 3rd 'booster' shot on a pop-up bus within 50 meters of GZ. Some fantastic views nearby too.
Really enjoyed my visit to this lovely town. A fitting and well made statue.

**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise.
Thanks for the cache The Morris.
PS - I travel by myself and don't do 'selfies'. Please accept my post with my name tag included.

after a morning run from kirwans Bridge via the backroads, it was time for a rest and to finally log this virtual.
Wow. That is a big bird and fabulous sculpture. Pleased that you pointed it out to us today.

I am afraid the horse is the star here but the pelican rules the water. Thanks to the Morris.

My mate the nozy asked me if I wanted to ride shotgun while he drove up past Nagambie to for a quick job, so who am I to pass up an opportunity for shenanigans?
I picked up a couple of smileys by Kirwan's Bridge to occupy my time, then we came back to town. So of course I made sure we stopped for a couple of happy snaps.
The Morris, thanks for the photo op. Somewhere under that fog is water...

#GA2598 - 11:45; After a few days in Melbourne visiting the geoaunt in hospital and the geostudent, it was time to head north for home again. It was quite a nice day and with plenty of time up my sleeve, I decided a couple of short detours from the highway would relieve some of the boredom and keep me alert for the long solo drive. After a disappointing DNF on a now deceased trig to start the day, I had enjoyed a bit more success since and was now in Nagambie. It was wet and miserable last time I was through here, so I didn't stop. No excuses today and I was out of the car, grabbing some snaps of this one and the one next door as well as enjoying the view and reading up on the unusual end to the church which once stood here! Returning from a couple of Geocaching events at Nyora and Bass to see the old year out and welcome the new one, we just had to stop in my old home town and have a meal at the nearby pub. Muggle Hubby was able to get this shot of me and the Pelican for this Locationless.
Thanks The Morris for the.cache.

The last time we visited Nagambie we snapped our pic of Black Caviar but the icon for Pelican must have been hiding underneath. We knew where it was as we'd seen it so we didn't need the GPS this time.......it doesn't look that high till you stand next to it! TFTC The Morris.

Good to find some GA caches here. That's my hand in the photograph. Caching alone, so it's difficult to take more of a photograph of me, and 'selfies' are alien to me . TFTC The Morris.

Found on a wet day in Nagambie, grabbed the photo and did a runner before we got too wet. TFTC
Found on our 2015 footy trip to Melbourne with Sol de Lune. A very VERY long walk from Black Caviar (notice the sarcasm). Lovely statue with lovely views. TFTC The Morris!

Certainly a beautiful spot to visit and well worth a stop to stretch the legs. Nice to catch up with you at the Mega, now headed home to Tasmania. TFTV

A detour off the new bypass gave me a chance to stop for a couple of quick GCA finds and to check on a nearby GC.
Thank you, The Morris, for this GCA cache.

What's better than a life sized tribute to your average Aussie's addiction to gambling than a statue of a racehorse ?
A bigger than life statue of a pelican
I don't know what the connection between the two might be, other than they are the themes of poker machines

We came to Nagambie primarily too see the tribute to Black Caviar. However, "The Pelican" gave us similar joy. The way the late afternoon sun caught the sculpture was well worth seeing. Thanks The Morris for another great virtual.
Visited by Roma and Max.
Another very impressive sculpture to compliment its currently more popular neighbor, although no less an example of some superb artisan talent!
As our photo shows we were on the border of some maintenance works being carried out on the associated electronics for these displays and we also attempted a selfie, but arms being too short combined with the unfavorable light conditions plus we are no "krudds" contributed to our result!
Thanks again The Morris for providing another excellent geocaching destination.
Cheers,
from Romax.
