Day 4 at Cowell and we hosted an event at the Commercial Hotel at lunch. It was great to catch up with Tweety2 and Martini989.After the event we travelled out to the have a look at the Ulbana Weir and to grab some caches on the way back. After a search through the rocks, we were about to call it on this one when Meggs finally made the find! TFTC
Definitely a windy hill, hence the turbines I guess?
Lik others before me, I eventually found this one about 8m from where GPSr wanted me to look.

Thanks

Maybe the turbines were messing with my satellite feed today. I eventually located the cache 9 metres from my phone’s GZ and 2 metres from a bored stumpy lizard. TFTC
Another cache found during our 2022 South Australia Adventure using Geocaching as our guide.
Thanks Tweety2, we had a great time today driving the back roads

The Non Wangaratta Event Tour 2021!
Covid has postponed the Mega in Victoria until January but leave had been granted for AnyMules to attend with me and Bushfire. So Anymules and I went on a tour to Eyre Peninsular and mid north South Australia instead whilst Bushfire joined us in spirit only as covid meant he couldn't come here either. Not needing anything for my yearly goals I hoped I didn't add too many to the DNFs [B)]
Day 2: Let's head over and get the Cleve Cleaver.
Took a little while to find but did so and then got up close and personal with the wind turbines.
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks Tweety2 for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Staying at the Pt Gibbon camping ground, toured the area nearby, looking for caches, and to explore the region as cachers do. So many rocks, but eventually found it 7m from GZ. TFTC.
Travelling Australia since March 2014 it has been a while since in SA but enjoying this visit greatly.
We moved today to Cowell then headed out to explore the local area using Geocaching as a guide. Windy and rainy still so the GeoCruiser is covered in red mud [8)] from all the slipping and sliding.

Hi there Tweety2.
We found your cache **"Windy Hill"** at 12:23:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 13849.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the local area today. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today we did a circular route from Cowell towards Cleve.
We ended up finding 7 & DNFing 1 caches today.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Searched for ages. Found the perfect spot where it should be. Rock Roof with a rock to hide, but i think it has been yoinked
Hunted for a long time with the kids and found a good hidey hole but no cache.
Incredible to see these big machines up close.

Found with GeoDad and muggle cousins while on a drive to and around Kimba while on school holidays. Great to see one of these up close - WOW they are big. Thanks
With holidays for the geokids and geoDad, it was time for a drive to knock a few geocaches off the search list and look around Kimba and surrounds. A nice quick find on our casual drive. Kids really enjoyed getting close to the generators, gasping at their actual size. Seeing them from a great distance makes them look so much smaller. TFTC
A great diversion from the main road to meet the fan club
Good views out to sea and some really good views of a giant bit or modern 'green' technology
On a cold and windy day, you could feel the power !!
Whoosh, Whoosh, Whoosh, Whoosh ..... etc
And with the 120 odd metre windmill whooshing away above me I noodled through the rocks for the cache
Gotcha !!

At Cleve for the June long week end Event and meeting other caching teams the weather is fine this morning, we had bacon eggs and snags for Breakfast cooked by Geodad then cleaned up and time to go find a few caches in the area. So lets see how many we can find. Geodad found this one but muggles pulled up as Geodad was searching as he emerged the muggles were looking the other way but Geomum was out taking photos so do not think they noticed what Geodad was up to. Oh no . Not another rock pile . We were FLAT out finding this one SL, TFTH and bringing us here
A Great weekend away doing the Googs Track with good friends. Lots of different scenery and a lot of fun

After completing our trek along the Googs Track and back through the Gawler Ranges, it was time to rack up some numbers in the Whyalla area - gee there are a lot of caches around here.
Today our focus was on the FITG series then down south to Cowell and return to Whyalla. Started out early but didnt get back until 10pm - got here on sunset. TFTC.

its nice being so close to one of these, we are fascinated to see them at long distance but to be standing almost right next to it is a fantastic experience, the cache was fairly easy to find and by golly that scorpion is huge compared to the ones back home, geowife got some really nice pics while we were up here.TFTC
We were in the area looking for another cache, so did this one as well.A very appropriate name,Quite blowy today.A quick find a we were on our way back to Cowell. Thanks for the hunt.

I loved this cache as the drive up was spectacular and the views from the top too. It was also my first time being so close to a windmill like this (Windfarms) They are massive structures and very interesting. Thanks for bringing me here.

Found today, we really like caches that are a decent size like this one! Especially in more rural areas where it isn't necessary to have micros etc.
Love windfarms, this one sure was generating alot of electricity today, as it was blowing hard up here.
Took the TB JACH to keep it moving.

Awesome. 36,000 home were getting breakfast as I found the cache. Thanks guys for the journey.
An awful lot of rocks! A great spot to visit and read the info about the wind farm. More rocks than flies today! SL. TFTC.
Having recently done the Snowtown windfarm caches it was interesting to see these gentle giants in this part of the State. Great outlook. Thanks Tweety2

Going through our old (Paper) notes and realized we hadn't logged this when we did it back on the 04/05/2008
We had a great day caching around the district for the whole day.
I can't believe that we didnt log any of the finds - turns out both the wife and I both thought the other had logged them!!!!!!!

From just about every cache around here, I could see these things. I had heard about them, but now could see what all the fuss was about.
Amazing things, just like at Chocolate Star Fish on the Hill (GCG91M). I took heaps of pics – so here are just a few.
They said the wind farm can generate enough energy for 36,000 average house holds. I only counted about 7 houses around here. Does that mean they are all above average house holds [?] So why are these guys so special [?] Why can’t we all have wind farms [?] If Goyder’s line moves, will they have to move these things[?] Will those 7 houses have to move too[?] So many questions. Just like locating the cache, I got lucky. So many rocks too. Picked the special rock within a special time. Just in the shade of the swooping blade so made me look just there. Handy really.
Clear skies indeed! Thanx again Tweety2 from TeamAstro. [^]
Have seen many of these from a distance, so I was pleased to be brought here to get all the details and see one close up. Tried to take one home in the RAV4,but height clearance was a proble. (See Photo)
Cache was a bit hard to find, gGZ was away from the rocks.
Cheers from Barra

Found the cache at 9.30am - search for while finally found it PHEW!!! Enjoyed view with Windy Hill. No swap. Thank you for organising the cache and hunt.
Found at 1715 on a cache run from Cleve to Cowell. Love the swooshing sound of the blades, they are so beautiful, reminds me of dancers. Don't like this type of terrain to stash a cache, particularly on a very hot arvo, but we decided to be brave and after about ten minutes careful scouring, we found it - phew!

Pt Lincoln Trip 4th week of Oct
18 of 83 finds with 7 DNFs
Windy, Wet and misty here in the home of Bubbles8 who I have recently met.
I almost gave up when I saw what was at GZ as Iam not usually successfull with that style of cache. Today must have been my lucky day.
Spent some time watching the windmill blades appearing out of the mist, very eerie

Hi Redmond here just thought we would check this cache on the way home from Gulf View. Got here about 9pm it was very cold and windy. It was very noisy and spooky up here at this time of the night not being able to see anything around you but the lights on the big windmills.
been here before for a look, it still has a very "war of the worlds" feel to it

Had a look for this via the back tracks on the way through from Cleve to Cowell. Checked first that the dirt roads were passable with a couple of locals. Most of the roads were rough, but only boggy for short distances through the creeks where I employed 4 wheel drive. Despite getting very close. i missed a vital turn off, and ended up running out of time. Went into Cowell, where i had lunch at the pub and spent the afternoon with a colleague at the school. Coming out from Cowell, the final destination was much more obvious, and i had no trouble getting to the GZ, or finding the cache. It was well hidden, but coords were accurate. Funnily enough, this was the only cache which had got wet, despite being well out of the rain. It was still dry inside, however. This is a magnificent spot and operating at peak capacity today i imagine. TNLN, but some nice goodies still in the cache. Thanks for placing a cache here, and thus bringing me to see it.
A great place for a cache. Great idea Tweety2. Location certainly lived up to its name today. Was cold and wet as well.

First one for the day on a drive between towns. Felt miniscule beneath those monsters. Small breeze blowing and sound they made was very calming. Have to say this was an absolutely incredible spot - so pleased we went to find it. Took packet of tissues and left resuscitation mask. TFTC Tuccamore
What a view. Did you hear the windmills going around quite loud. I said to my husband, how many to look under. Found it just fine.

This find means that we have got the trifecta on these things, and found a cache associated with them on all three peninsulas – Fleurieu, Yorke and now Eyre [^]. They really are impressive up close.
Have to admit that I groaned when I realised where the cache was hidden. (I hate caches in rocks!! ) Despite that, we found it easily enough. Took a snoopy doll and left a pack of jumbo playing cards (I have been waiting for ages for a cache big enough to fit them in and that had room to do so)
Thanks for bringing us here Tweety2
