Has been over a month since this cache was confirmed gone and a call for maintenance. Owner not logged on for over a year. This one needs to go.
Asked by christofloppy to visit this cache to check if still insitu, as I have done maintenance here before. I could not find it today, and I looked about 4m either side in case of cache creep. As the Nanks don't seem to be keeping up their caches it will no doubt be archived eventually.
No luck today.... hanging out with Captain Terror and on a very wet day there were not many muggles around to get in our way... we searched high and low... and low some more... we even PAF to find out where we should be looking but it didn't seem to be there at all??? Its been a while since anyone found it so not even sure if its still there to be found or if its as sneaky as some others before us have said... either way... its a DNF for us today... but those turtles were pretty darn cool... I counted 22 at one stage
Out and about with Whint on a very wet day and decided to have a go at this one. Being morning and raining GZ was a ghost town and we had good conditions for a look. We looked high and low, left and right to no avail. We tried a PAF and got quite intimate with every inch of the railing to no avail. Searched some other nearby objects but had another look at the railing after the PAF. Hmm.. I fear this one is not there, but I could be wrong. Was certainly a lot of fuzzy turtles today, I bet they were disappointed that we weren't there to feed them.
I've been in the vicinity of GZ several times but the place has always been swarming with muggles so I haven't even stopped for a look. I was in the area again today for Christmas lunch and on the way home I realised today would be the perfect day to visit this cache and it was . It took all of 30 seconds to spot something unusual and I had me a cache . The temporary log book still has plenty of room in it and the cache is in good shape.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the cache

Had a good look at night without a torch, after the movies. Perfect timing as not alot of people about. Still, DNF. It has me intrigued tho and I'll be back. Wish I had my cousin Thomas with me...
An interesting place. What a fantastic area for eateries. Never been to this part of the world before. We saw a few turtles as well.
See that this excellent cache needs a new log. Have put in a temporary one, will photograph the original and organize a new log. I am local so happy to arrange this.
I had hoped to grab this cache last year while caching with svn07. We stood no chance at the time though as it was muggle central and just too hard to attempt.
I swung by mid morning today in the hope that some people might actually be working... What d'ya know, they must have been because I had the place to myself... [^]
I moved into GZ and eyed off the hidey hole that was more aligned with my eye level. Nothing... OK, time to widen the scan. 30 seconds later, I had the container in hand...
As suggested, the log is full but I did find a spot to sign. I had a couple of log books on me but, nothing that would suit this style of cache, sorry.
A nice spot out on the deck. I recommend breakfast here, it is very relaxing... [^]
Thanks for the cache THENANKS.

Awesome hide. As the post below, the coord's are spot on, but the cache is not easily found. the log is full to overflowing.
Visited this close to dark - easy find with few muggles about. Looks like it might have been busy later. Cheers Gav [8725]
Our first DNF, but it was a very popular spot today so I must say we didnt look as hard as we possibly could, instead we enjoyed a good 10 minutes of non-suspicious searching while enjoying the turtles.
We just stumbled across this cache while taking the long way from Brisbane airport to the Gold Coast.
What a little gem. The turtles came "scurrying" towards us expecting a feed I think, plus a few carp.
It was great entertainment at about 10am with noone else about.
The log is full.

Found on a day's outing from Gold Coast,
to Bribie Island and back via Redland Bay?
Long way 'round? ...you bet...

This has to be the trickiest cache to find...
I'd say more but it would give it away...

Stopped here for a late breakfast after dropping L off for a guide camp earlier. We were lamenting our earlier Dnf when I looked up caches and found this one 40m away.
Found by R after a great breakfast watching the turtles. TFTC!

We quite wrongly thought it might be temporarily inaccessible. We have since had a hint from the owner (thanks THENANKS) and it appears we looked in the right place but not thoroughly enough. We'll have another look if we are ever in the area again. We had had afternoon tea with a social group there and it certainly is an interesting point.
I had dinner here just the other day and never knew this was here. A nice find and a great location. The turtles were even more prolific during the day and i loved the idea of them as furry. They seemed to be following me as I moved which was cute. I recommend a visit here to anyone. The cache wasn't what I was expecting but not too difficult since there are so few options. Thanks for the nice hide THENANKS
Yes it is a clever cache hide and we can understand cachers recommending this spot. The furry turtles came up to surface to say hello. I decided there was nothing for it but to get down on my knees and make like a 4 year old. And it worked. The log is rather damp and pretty full but we managed to put our intitials in there. Lovely to meet Mr Nanks this morning - it gives the finds an extra kick. Good one folks.
Ah, we just loved this cache! Nice one TheNanks! [^] [^] [^] We all approved! We also loved the magnificent furry turtles and were amazed at how many there were. Thanks so much for bringing us here to see them, and the cache, and thanks for recommending it when we met you today. Oh, and log is completely full. And, also, we love the cache container. Had us fooled for a few minutes. Someones log about viewing things from a 4 year olds position helped us. Bristracker was first to spot it.

Happy is the cacher that has no muggles on a public holiday. While there were still some - they were "down the way". Pagan spotted this whilst looking from the right angle. Very clever container - and found said curious turtles as well! I think the log was full on this one. TFTC THENANKS
Hooray!! After being muggled out on a previous attempt apparently 9am Australia day morning was a good time to be here. Pagan found it after a short search and plenty of turtles came up to say hello. I am not sure why there is a trackable logged into this cache!! Thanks THENANKS
wow now i know why the name we were a little amazed with the view...getting down to the four year olds eye level to count fuzzzy critters gave me the perfect birds eye view! very good hide!!! tftc!
Have had a number of tries with this one! Meeting dear friends for coffee today....yet another seriously wet day. So, even that it is still the holiday season, the muggles that were around were all cosied up inside. Scouted around GZ for a couple of minutes, "looking at the turtles"....and then I saw it. Sheesh...should have guessed! Nice hide.
The log continues to be full.....but squeezed my name in.
Thanks for the cache THENANKS. Cheers, svn07

Found very early in morning so noone around. Log is now full. What a clever hide.
I had been here before with no luck but returned today with Mrs Crew as cover (using the ruse to look at the turtles).
After booking a table for dinner at the nearby restaurant we wandered over to the target area and she leaned over the rail looking at the turtles and I looked down and asked her to move her elbow a little so I could retrieve the cache.
We came back later at night with friends and had an enjoyable dinner on the waterfront.

Didnt have time for coffee had looked for this one several months ago but on this occasion with fresh eyes on turtles victory ...!!
Spotted this one on the way to GZ. A few muggles nearby, but Lat&Long the ninja was neither seen or heard . TN/LN/SL and disappointed at least 10 fuzzy reptiles by not throwing any food in the water.
A quite quick find - there were not many muggles in the sight when it was found. Watched at the water birds and turtles for a while before we left to carry on with geocaching. Thanks for bringin us to the nice spots and the cache.
Found this one on our caching trip up to the Sunshine Coast. We had attempted to find this one yesterday but were foiled by a muggle band who were set up entertaining the crowds right at GZ! We came back this morning and the only muggle in sight was a waitress cleaning up the rain water off the tables. We looked at the turtles for a little while as our hands were doing the searching and soon had the cache in hand. TNLNSL TFTC
Patox and all7 said oh my god look beautiful Turltes , duck and fish.. stop for cuppa with Alchemy2...
we had nice coffee found it we saw few turtles

Found at 0930. Found quickly in a likely spot but the cache itsself was a bit tricky. Spotted a turtle while looking for the cache. the cache was Ok with the log book was a bit damp but I was able to sign it ok. TFTC.
Took Dannza to see the furry turtles and grabbed this clever cache and lunch as well. TFTC
Wow - what a lot of turtles, all waiting for food to fall from above. Sneaky hide. TFTC
Nice idea, love this cache!
Found with Geobrother "Where Are We"
Thanks for the cache.

know this area well but were still unable to locate the cache. lots of people eating and envoying the turtles etc,so unable to appear too obvious. have been back several times to check this one out as we live near by, but have had no luck so far.
No luck for me. Saw the turtles but searching alone for caches like this can be a bit of a problem.
I will have to pick a better time next time or bring the grandsons.

Almost had me beat but one last look did the job. Not what I was expecting. Only saw 1 large eel and no turtles this morning. TFTC
Entered into yhe book of LEDGIN'S. Out caching after being crook for a week. #2 of 15 today. Plenty of turtles around.. SL. TFTC.
wow there is many turtles and waiting for us to feed them. I think its so cute. thanks for bring me there
Well, I went for an early bike ride and got here while no one else was around. It was very pleasant here, just me & the turtles & one water dragon sunning himself[|)]. Thank you Nanks for an interesting cache.... By the way the log is now full!!
We may not get there to add to the log book until September 22 or so. We will not disable as it is still there maybe you could squeeze your name up the side???? We will post another note once we've added more room to the book.

Had to do when not many people around - great hide. Lots of turtles, duck and eels. A new booklet is needed as nearly full. TFTC.
Found at 7.50 am. Not a bad time to find it as no-one around. No turtles today, maybe due to the extremely cold morning.
Didn't find as way too many muggles and of course, the band was in full swing. Have to work on our stealth skills. Great fun anyway. Thanks
Excellent hide spot!! Love this place - Today no turtles but ducks... SL. Thanks Thananks for organising the cache and hunt.
Out to lunch today with Mrs Ksix (and some other mums from school) after watching mamma mia (great movie). As soon as we sat down Mrs Ksix said, Have you done furry turtles. After I stated no she was quickly dragging me away to locate this one. Thanks for a cache here. Was my first time eating here and must return. What a great spot. TFTC.
4th of 11 finds for us today.
The geokids definitely come in handy for searching for caches when there are lots of muggle around. In between "showing the furry turtles" to the geokids we managed to work our way closer to the GZ. Geodad spotted the cache from a little way away, it was now just a matter of how do we get it, as there was a live band setting up exactly where the cache was located. So as the band walked of to get some more equipment and some more "oooh, look at those turtles" with the geokids, we were able to get close enough to grab the cache.
Thanks for the hunt thenanks

Ksix

We were down this was for a family BBQ and decided to try and pick up a few caches while in the area.
This was number 2 of 10 for the day, unfortunatly only 9 finds though.
Wow - the turtles and wow, wow, wow the cache. We had a pet saw shell turtle, Prickles, for many years and are just thinking of getting another one, so turtle spotting is always something we're up for!!
The cache was great took ages to find, how many times can you walk up and down in the same small area, how many times can you retie your shoe to get a good look at underside of something without drawing too much attention to yourself? well I'm not sure but gees I must have been getting close!!!
Cache located and signed at 10:05am. Was almost as hard to get back to it's hiding spot as it was to find it!!

One of 2 DNF on Sunday.
Loved checking out the furry creatures.
A DJ was camped at GZ.

Muggles everywhere, look over the rail and see one furry turtle looking back, wait a minute or so before discreetly looking for the cache and as I glance over the rail I now have seven furry turtles waiting for me to drop some food. I retrieved the cache and sign the log as two bmx'ers arrive and the cafe owner gives them a blast, they happen to stop a metre from me. Putting the cache back was harder hten finding it. Loved the cache. Thankyou.
Found in the company of jabes on Australia Day. Excellent hide! There were lots of furry turtles - see attached photos. TFTC!
Well done guys, ingenuity, something to see of interest and stealth required. This one has it all. Thanks THENANKS
Was about to start dismantling a umbrella when keight found the cache. Nice hide. Only one turtle decided to pop their head up to say hello
aaaargh! finaly got to 'ave a look at this one when no'one was around, great little hide found while ye' galley wench was distractin' ye' large snail swim'in in ye' lake!,thankin' ye' and happy new year.
Was in the area so i thought i would have another look, had it within seconds very sneaky hide. There where heaps of turtles today and also so real big what looked like Eel Tailed Fish. TFTC
After a traumatic experience at the nearby dentist, I thought a cache would make me feel better, or at least distract me! This one was looking a bit hard, but suddenly I spotted it while looking at the many turtles waiting patiently underneath. I think I saw a furry eel too. Great hide Nanks TFTC
Early morning in Victoria Point
Not a soul in sight. But as I neared GZ I became aware that I was being watched [:o]
A hundred hungry eyes were intently looking my way
Below me was a flotilla of furry turtles
Oh! And I found the cache too

Don't you just love it when you start the day with a DNF. Looked everywhere for it I preety sure it has gone.
Attempted to find this twice today without luck.
Actually first attempt was aborted when GPS was giving directions right to where a lady was singing and playing guitar. Doubt that she would have been impressed with us searching the area in the middle of her gig.
Second attempt the lady was packing up her music gear. As she took one load to her car we inconspicuously attempted to check out the area. When she came back she thought we were a bit 'sus'. Must have thought we were trying to knock of an amplifier.
So we gave up. Will check again another day.

Got here just on dinner time and there was some kind of party at the restaurant there was heaps of muggles everywhere will come back for this one.
A quick grab of a wheelchair accessible cache to finish off RDMH. Yahoo - thank heavens that is over! Fun but stressful. Thanks Nanks for a great little cache.
Wow - lots of turtles here even at night. Unfortunately for us there was also lots of people too - some of them dining within 1m of where we wanted to look.
This was my 6th find for the night in the company of Mr HawMorFord. We managed to find the cache without attracting attention and then had dinner nearby while we were here.
As we left here heading for the next cache, some way up the road we came across an echidna trying to cross the road. We quickly pulled over and ran back up the road to move her before she got hit, but before we could get back there some other careless driver cleaned her up... she was still alive and we got her off the road and called wildlife care to see where we could take her but it was too late and she died in our arms 10 minutes later Quite sad actually. Drive carefully.

#1808 - Fifth of eight finds for the evening in the company of The Garner Family.
What a great spot! LOTS of turtles... LOTS of Eels too!
I had no idea what to expect but this area is terrific. I would thoroughly recommend trying this one at night too. It is likely that there will be people everywhere, but if you are careful there should be no reason why you can't grab without anyone seeing what you're up to.
Nice place to grab something to eat for dinner too. Thanks NANKS. A ripper.

We couldn't find it today, but were surprised at the number of turtles when we looked down into the water. We've been here plenty of times, but have never looked over the rail in the daytime.
My GPSr was putting me in a place that I doubt the cache is placed. We'll have to come back and have another look when less muggles are present.

Wow what a beautiful group of turtles! I haven't seen so many of them in the same place. It was interesting to find out that a friend of mine Douglas believed that he was the one to start breeding the turtles. His grandfather found a baby turtle in the middle of busy road somewhere in North and gave it to Douglas as a little boy. Douglas kept the turtle in the tank for a while before released it to Wild. He believed that there was no other turtles there then.
I wonder if Douglas's turtle is one of Sparky's relative??!!
What a clever cache! Thanks for the hunt.

Lots of turtles watching our efforts. I'm almost certain they were having a chuckle at our expense...
Steve finally turned it up in a place Wingy had already looked.
Very clever hide! Thanks for the cache!

For a while I was beginning to think the furry turtles had eaten this cache!! Honestly I dont think I've ever seen so many turtles in one spot.
I had a group of scouts working on their conservation badges across the road. When I picked them up this afternoon I walked them over to show them the turtles. Yes, they were impressed
Back to the cache...a very nice hide I'm missed it....Nasty Steve found it....eventually! I'll put his 'luck' down to the lucky red snakes

Wingy, it's the green snakes that help you find caches... not the red ones - they stop you, remember?????
On my way to work this morning yes that 4 letter word after several restful months off. Thought I had better get an early start the traffic can be R E A L L Y bad some days and with all that prep to do unfortunatley I don't think that excuse will work again.I carn't believe that local pirate hasn't plundered this cache yet must be shipwrecked on some far away atol. A peaceful spot to start to the day and even better when it's topped of with a FTF.To early for a coffee though TFTC.
