When we arrived Goondiwindi to stay here for two nights...checked the caches around the town and we dreaded on hunting them due to many DNFs! This one was one of DNFs for us today... maybe the previous finder put it in a wrong place, even though we searched wide and above, still nothing.

19-May-11
Like the previous 2 logs we were also unsuccessful with this one. Maybe muggles have been at work. Thanks anyway Team Beaufort

17-May-11
We must be blind, this one eluded us today. A bit embarrassing we couldn't find a simple 1.5 / 1.5.

Thanks anyway Team Beaufort.

Well I must say there are some big mozzies here at the moment, and whats more they are silent. First thing you notice is a needle going in and being woozy from blood loss... well maybe thats a bit exhagerated, but they are big. The cache was quickly found and logged. Tried to find a welcome to QLD sign so we could log the GCA locationless but alas there was none on this entry to QLD.

Muggles were in short supply here today Smile
Just the one elderly dog walker who was taking their sweet time wandering past.
That gave me the excuse to properly check out all the horsey stuff and admire the wrought iron work of the nearby bridge too Big Grin

This was on our to replace for owner list but it had already been done. Still while the kids played and had a bite to eat I headed up here to see the prize. Wife did some photos, said something about been over the boarder. Seems you Queenslanders even have strange names on your toilets.
JABs.

13-Apr-10
Passed through here several times on holidays years ago when this bridge was the main route out of town. Introduced La Kedi to the famous Gunsynd and she was suitably impressed. Oh and found the cache too.

13-Apr-10
Found in a spot that required me to get up close and friendly with a whole bunch of ants, but they were soon dissuaded by my mosquito repellant and the cache was safely retrieved. All in good condition, and after replacing it, went to inspect the famous Gunsynd, who was before my time, so I was pretty impressed to view his record. Thanks for the introduction to this spot. TFTC ='.'=

10-Apr-10
Found by Mary & David at 1630. Glad to see that this one had been replaced so we could find it. We've been looking forward to this trip for a long time. We remember Gunsynd and his legendary status. Our thanks to Team Beaufort.

Took a little scrounging but we found the cache. I remember coming by here as a kid back in the 1970's, over the bridge and remember there was a Gunsyd monument but something different.

Biggest little Fuddley was very useful in retrieving this one. I have been wanting to find this one for sometime, but have not found another reason to come here.

Thought we were getting better at this.... hmmm. Looked diligently but no luck. Council character on mower over the road. Great spot though. Thanks for the effort Team Beaufort.

27-Mar-10
On our way down from Brisbane to attend the Oz Mega Wagga Wagga Event. As cachers do when on a road trip, we must also 'Stop, Revive and Survive' and if there is a cache close by all the better !!!

Like other cachers before us, we think this one is gone. Had a quick look but could not come up with the goods.

Thanks for the hunt Team Beaufort

Cheers,
Ksix

14-Feb-10
Yep, we agree with the other recent hunters.

Had a good look around, being sure to get Mr S to check the tall places, then went ff to check out the local museum -(well worth a visit

On returning to the Grey noticed a couple of suspicious characters taking far too long to photograph the statue while simultaneously watching me talking on my mobile. Seems they thought it was a GPS.

Walked across the road to meet Mr S and the geo-hounds while giving them time to incriminate themselves then went over for a chat. Sure enough it was HDSpringer and her reluctant Companion, who confirmed a couple of recent DNFs

Great spot though, and we were glad you brought us here.

11-Feb-10
We didn't find it either. However the park, bridge and statue were worth a look. Thanks for getting us here.

10-Feb-10
Visited with the Reluctant Companion on our trip to Albany for the Ulysses AGM. We are sure the cache is no longer there. Searched very thoroughly and then met other cachers who were also visiting the site. Thanks for the hunt we really enjoyed the area.

11-Jan-10
For an easy cache this sure was hard. Had both geo-kids climbing all over the place within 3 metres of the co-ordinates but still came up empty. As per kggy on 10th jan, this one may need some attention - may have been muggled.

10-Jan-10
We concentrated our search on the structure behind the statue but couldn't find anything. If it was on that structure it might be gone as it has just been completely repainted in the last few days going by the freshness of the paint. Thx Team Beaufort for the tour just the same.

29-Nov-09
Found on the TiedyeSmileys Adelaide NSW QLD trip away.

Our first QLD cache find and nice spot to stretch our legs. Mrs TiedyeSmileys wasn't too sure if she was a filly or not at the nearby toilets.

Stopped early for an overnight stay so what to do but check Navigator on the Nokia and, yes, a cache within an easy stroll! Enjoyed the walk, the look at the pillars, the great horse and the little park by the river and bridge. Oh, and found the cache too (4.50 pm)! Just what we like about geocaching, it takes you places if the cache is placed interestingly, so many thanks Team Beaufort for a good one.

I know its a long way from home to here but we wanted to get to Queensland as soon as possible. Took a little while to set up the GPS and get it to register the vastly different coordinates than it is used to but found it quickly.

Well I'd finished my visit to the Grandparents just east of Chinchilla and wanted to get back home near Maitland NSW by dark so I headed out at about 0645. I made it to 'Goondi' by around 0930, and popped into the bakery in the main street to grab a coffee and a cream bun. Headed over to APEX park to grab this cache. I was setting up my morning tea when the local constabulary set up shop for a morning of random breath tests.

At first I looked in the places I'd normally expect but no luck, then I turned around and 'bam' there it was. Signed log and replaced without incident. Finished off my morning tea and headed for Bogabilla to the Wobbly Boot. TNLNSL TFTC.

p.s. logging my Geotalk Coin through

After spending the night at Goondiwindi at the end of our first day on our trip down south, we headed out early to make some miles. We did have a cursorary look last night for this one, but did no good in the dark. A review of past logs made the find very easy this morning.

Found at 0530 hrs. Find number 7 for the trip.

Seems this site didn't suffer any damage after all. Back on line again

27-Jan-09
An easy drive by on our way south after an overnight stay in Goondiwindi.
Nice location with some interesting history.
It's surprising that this cache survived with the number of signs that have been blown over, bending the posts in most cases.
Thanks for the hunt.

Well hidden, Found by geohubby as I suffer from ducks disease. Good to see not much damage from the storm.

06-Jan-09
Hurray! Despite all the damage around the park the cache is safe and well. Not even a drop of water seems to have invaded it. In 35C today we stopped for a break and were able to approach the cache where we had been stopped previously by storm damage from the 29th of Dec. The Cache was found quickly and in good order. Thanks Team Beaufort.

03-Jan-09
This cache is certainly there. We found it okay - nothing wrong with it at all. Goondiwindi hasn't copped as much of a battering as poor Boggabilla has! First to find for the New Year. Stigglepot would not have been able to reach it - she is short Smile Great hide and thanks for the cache. eatmorchickin and Stigglepot from Brisbane.

01-Jan-09
We are heading back south on the 6th of Jan and can have a look (and hopefully still find it!).

30-Dec-08
This cache has apparently been totalled in the storm on 29 Dec . I will not be out there for a few weeks, so am disabling it in the mean time. If anyone decides to have a look in the tree behind the picnic tables and finds it or doesn'rt find it please let me know. I had a note from "kittykittykitty" that there was a lot of action around the tree with chain saws ! !!!!
