Thanks to all those that came, and again apologies for the venue change. Anyhow I am glad everyone enjoyed themselves.
Pity we couldn't have a fire as I was going to whip up a chocolate self saucing pudding in the camp oven. Perhaps next time.
All up we had a great weekend, especially the kids, spending time with the other kids runnign around the place, the skate park and the pool.
There is some good caching to be had around Kenilworth and Imbil, just the one DNF, but that was because of the muggles. Some of caches take you to some great scenic locations.
Thanks to Wonder Wits for putting out the new caches, and providing the local update.
I am alos glad no one mentioned the waterslide event!
I have no more plans to do anymore but if someone wants to organise the next one, feel free.

Unsure whether to log this as attended as the GZ had changed afew days before. So i thought wait a minute....................If someone said, have you ever been to a duel event where 2 groups run simultaneously but are both concious of each other, grabbing caches and having fun????????? My reply would be............to late................already done and hosted by the Ghost Gums...........Ha. Come on............... has to be a record....................... Met up with Ollys, Storkers, Just a Trifle and guddink on our last cache. Heard the twin group were ploughing away as well..................nice.
Thanks for the great weekend GhostGums
Hope to catch up!!!
PS........... I heard that the big guy that tried to take all the kids out on the floating air mattress slept well that night................(he snored and kept everyone up)............HA

What a great weekend The whole of Team Fuddley really enjoyed themselves. Nice to meet up with some old and new faces, plenty of caches to find for all levels of cacher, plenty of stories being told about the "camp fire" all in all well worth the trip down. Thanks Troy and Jo for putting the event together and thanks to all that attended for making it a special occasion. (If only I had my camera at the bottom of the swimming pool slide)
Was a great weekend in Kenilworth as it turned out, the kids had a great time as well with lots of new little friends.
There was plenty of story telling round the "fire" late into the night as well, with the highlight being Mr ghostgums retelling
his adventure down a waterslide.
Thanks Mr and Mrs Ghostgums for organising the event.

We arrived at Charlie Moreland on Friday and waited around looking for anyone that we knew or someone who looked like a geocacher. No Luck! We waited untill just before lunch on Saturday and then went looking for caches and thats when we met up with GeoPilots who informed us that the camping site was moved to Kenilworth due to the bush fire threat. Never mind, we met up with everyone that night for a good yarn and swapped a few tales. (All true of course)
A good weekend after all.
Thanks Ghostgums
A good weekend after all.
Thanks Ghostgums
A change of venue and as it turned out a nice place to camp. And hot showers were a bonus. Plenty of grass and a great back drop looking at the hills. A virtual fire Friday night didn't really make us feel that warm. A gas fire on Saturday night was more realistic. Days were nice with cool evening. Great to catch up with friends and make new ones. Thanks Troy and Jo for the effort. We thoroughly enjoyed it. See you at the next one.
Ahhhh! Nice weather (even if a touch cool at night, hey Cynthia:), open air, bright stars at night including a falling star streaking across the sky, some new faces and new caches, new and interesting areas to explore, great people to share it all with, along with drinks, stories and fun as the sun goes down - this is living!
Thanks Troy and Jo for organising this great event.

Thanks to Ghostgums for hosting a great event.
As always it is great to meet up with both old and the new faces.
Great weather for the weekend made for some really enjoyable caching in and around the local area.
Thanks for a great weekend guys.
Cheers,

Unfortunately we arrived too late and left too early but it was good to catch up with a few fellow geocachers at the showground.
We'll make sure that we don't have other commitments for the next geocaching event.
Thanks GhostGums for organising the event. We are sorry we couldn't stay longer.

Actually, I camped right next to the Gums! Had a delightful time, enjoying the mostly cool to nearly freezing (!) conditions with fellow cachers. Thanks for organising this event, Mr & Mrs GhostGums.
We were feeling a little schizophrenic at this event - met up with everyone at the showgrounds, did a few caches and then headed off to Charlie Moorlands just in time to catch d.d.dudes, storkers and The Olleys heading off to the creek. We had a great time watching a grown man trying to tip half a dozen kids off an air matress into the creek. By the time we had a few sundowners, we were far too relaxed to return to the showgrounds after tea, so caught up with the showground crowd in the morning before heading off home. Thanks for a great weekend Troy and Jo.

We will be setting up camp at the original location also d.d.dudes - so we can get up to mayhem together. See you all tomorrow.
Unfortunatly due to my sickness we have decided to pull at last minute. Next tme maybe.
We have arrived at Kenilworth Showgrounds and have setup. Green Team 2 are also here. We are behind the swimming pool not far from the waypoint co-ordinates (S 26° 35.950 E 152° 43.583)
Weather is fine but a little breezy.
See you all soon!

Things are working out will for me work wise, so it looks like Team Fuddley will be able to Attend, Hope to be in camp by late this afternoon. Will bring our coins along as well
GeoPilots hope to drop by on Saturday but we won't be able to get to the showground by 10am.
By the way, not only is there a swimming pool near the new meeting spot, but also a nice neat little skate park. I mention this just in case some of the geokiddies might like to pack extra gear.
Reading your last log I take it we don't have to ring individually and we pay someone there? See you all tomorrow or the next day depending on your plans.
Hey guys, sorry we are now not able to attend the weekend, family stuff has come up. We hope you all have a great weekend and we will catch up again soon.
Wise decisions.....................tribe still want to head for original GZ and keep our heads up.............i know we will bump into other cachers and blow our cover (again).............ha.................good luck and hope we cross!!!!!
No go for me. With the high fire Danger and the total Fire ban and work commitments has also got in the way today. Although I could have overcome the work, I received a job tomorrow pays well and I didn't want to miss out on the money.
If there where other's from Bundaberg going. I would have reconsidered.

**** VENUE CHANGED****
The co-ordinates for the Kenilworth Showgrounds. = S 26° 35.950 E 152° 43.583
I will be arriving about lunchtime/early afternoon tomorrow. The showgrounds know we are coming, and have asked to keep away from the Pavillion as it is cricket season.

Sounds like a good reason to go camping. Only half the crew will be there as our daughter has netball on, so
only the boys will be coming. Will be there Saturday morning see you then.

*** Important****
The fire weather warning is still in place and is classified as 'Severe' though no warnigs have been issued beyond today.
While it appears that the weather are likley to improve in the next couple of days, as we all know weather conditions can change quickly, and I would not like to see us at risk of a bushfire. Today already today someone has died south of Brisbane.
The option now is to move the event back into Kenilworth Showgrounds, where the bushfire risk is much less than the kenilworth State Forest.
I know this is going to cause some inconvience, but I am sure we all prefer a weekend that is safe and worry free.
Please send me an email if this is going to be a problem for you.
Of course at the end of the day, it is up to each group where they want to camp.
Now if you have made a booking, EPA will provide credit to be be used for the next 12months as opposed as a direct refund, though it seems to depend how far out you made the booking.
EPA Refund Policy (if it makes sense) refer to section near the bottom of page 2.
https://www.epa.qld.gov.au/parks/iaparks/gds/images/content/campgrounds/refund_info.pdf
Ms GhostGums rang the The Kenilworth Showgrounds, cost is $10 per site per day and has showers, but has less shade. There are some powered sites available.
For day trippers only the venue will change

Weather is looking good. A bit warmer than last time. And we can have a fire. Looking at being there early afternoon. Friday I get out of class early. Yeah.
Oh well the wood will last. And I thought they lifted the fire ban. Will still be a good weekend anyway. Camper will be lighter to tow now.

You are still able to use gas or electrical appliances, but not wood or briquette (heatbead) appliances including enclosed kettles (ie Cobb Cooker / Weber )
I am also looking some contingency options to possibly relocate the event to Kenilworth Showgrounds or Island Reach at Imbil, if there is any concern with Kenilworth State Forest. Will keep you posted.
To keep up to date put this event on your watchlist.
Feel free to contact by the site if you have any questions.

We have sick children (crossing our fingers it's not swine flu). It would be better for all concerned if we stayed away. What a shame. It's been ages since I've done some geocaching. Next time ...
It is possible some new caches might pop up around about during this week ... always possible ...
I don't own a laptop. Could someone print out any new hides that do show up on Friday or Latter, that would be great.
I am planning on finding the complete Boolboonda Series of caches if possible, starting early on Saturday.
Could be late Friday before I arrive at camp, as I have a planned route I am going to take and pick up just over 20 hides on the way.
The only thing that will be stopping me from going is Rain. Let's hope it stays away this weekend.

Just stumbled onto this page while looking for something else and SO wish we could join you!! We are avid campers and cachers in California and would love to visit your country someday. Hope your event is a big success and lots of fun!
If all goes well. As long it don't rain. I plan on leaving early Friday morning, geocaching on the way, I should arrive around lunchtime. I'm going to camp in a Blue/Gold large tent at the Charlie Moreland Camp site, leaving on Monday or Tuesday. I'll be there for 3 or 4 nights.
Hope to see plenty there. I'm going to attempt that walk to the Fire Tower, taking my time.

Are you looking at posting times for events or get togethers etc? We're thinking of coming up for the day so was wondering if an itinerary is available?
Thanks

I am planning on coming down for this one with my tent. Will confirm closer to the date. Are there many staying at the showgrounds?
Everyone will need to make their own camping bookings.
For Charlie Moreland it can be made on line at https://www.epa.qld.gov.au/parks/iaparks/gds/IAGDS040.do

Eatmorchikin & Stigglepot have marked their diaries with this one. Look forward to getting out among the gum trees and meeting some other cachers. Thanks!!
I'll put us down to attend this. Will be the first camping trip in our new 4wd, and may even bring the buggy up as well. What better way to celebrate our birthdays & wedding anniversary.
I'll drag Baroki Scout, Miss Shy & Taylz along as well as the kids.

Ninasclan with Aussie DVD are hoping to make this one. We haven't done enough caching lately! We love this spot!
We are still considering this one, hope to be there, but will have to confirm our position, a bit closer to the time.
Will mark it in the diary. Hopefully we can make it possibly with a few extras in our group. Will update again soon. Will bring Liam Seeks His Fortune if not already placed by then.
At this stage, it is our intention to come along for the weekend - we look forward to seeing everyone.
Hoping to attend.
It is one week before our big USA trip so hopefully we will be able to make it.
I've driven past Charley Moreland many times but never actually stopped there.

Looking forward to catching up with cachers both new and "old" !!

Nice and local for us. In fact I'll be interested to see if anyone lives closer! Looking good at this stage.
All looks good at the moment. Have a new camper to try out and a few caches we have been intending to get to. A good excuse.
