We parked at the locked gate and started the ascent. It was cold, windy and started raining at one point. My phone was on 3% and I needed a loo! We got within 93 metres apparently but we could see more rain clouds heading our way so sadly gave up. Wonderful views though and I could see Riverton in the distance where Mum and Dad live so maybe on a nicer day and from a different approach we may try again. Thanks anyway
Travelling with iluvtrekking on a SA caching foray. Staying a couple of days in Clare to grab some finds. Very happy to have been able to grab this oldie. 1 klm return walk from locked gate. Thanks me2
Found with richlink as part of our Annual Caravan Geocaching Trip.We are staying in Clare for a couple of days and gathering some hides around the countryside. We enjoyed the walk, thanks me2.
I decided to make the journey and the views were well worth it. It's always really nice to find an old cache, and even more special to find it still has the original log book. Thanks so much for keeping this one going
I decided to take Friday off work to make it a four day weekend. The plan was to explore around Barossa and Clare valleys. Im not much of a wine drinker but there sure are lots of geocaches in these parts. I brought my bike along so I could tackle some of the many caches along bike tracks. A little cool through out the day but the sun was shining which always makes me happy. Yes I am a John Denver Fan. Well this cache was well up on my todo list given it was placed in 2001. I parked near the cemetery and took the rest of the journey on foot. An enjoyable walk up the hill and I was greeted with some wonderful views. After soaking it in, I went for the find. All good here. A definite fav point here for the location and the age of this cache. In the way back down, I poked my head in the cabin on the way. What a great place to camp overnight. Thank you me2, for placing Peter's view for the geocaching community.# # #14890 # #
This geocache was on my priority/bucket list due to its age, with it hidden in 10/2001.Whilst in the vicinity, I remarked that this cache had been on my target list, so [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) obliged with a repeat visit with me. We tried to park as close as we could to the trail that lead up to the ridge/top, which meant a couple of vehicle gates were opened and closed. A short ascent to the top, where we were greeted to awesome views around the area. Once at GZ, I was searching the large tree, but [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) deviated to a sport nearby and found the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I dropped a TB, and picked up a [sylken](https://coord.info/PR38PJ5) pathtag that had been deposited by its previous finders. Thanks me2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------A trip visiting Adelaide from Brisbane for the [The Great Leap Forward](http://coord.info/GCA1DNA) Mega event!I arrived Wednesday 28/02/2024 evening ready for Leap Day on Thursday, and stayed with family across the weekend, before returning on Monday 4/03/2024 morning. Previous Adelaide trips are spent with family and friends, but targeted geocaching was this trip's objective, and I attempted to target unique cache types (virtuals, EarthCaches, Wherigos and letterbox hybrids), attractive D-T combinations, high Favourite Point caches, and the occasional pre-2003 oldie, acknowledging that I had found many cherished oldies whilst residing in Adelaide. In addition to Mega central in Beverley/Hindmarsh, my trip included visits as north as Clare, to Aldinga and Sellicks Beach to the south, and the Adelaide Hills (Hahndorf, Uraidla) to the west. In true South Australian style, I ticked off the three closest wine areas to Adelaide (Barossa, Clare Valley, and McLaren Vale). Additional highlights included Barossa vineyard meanderings, boating to Adventure Island in Outer Harbor, drain exploration via [The Shadowlands](https://coord.info/GC18AZY), beach walks of Port Willunga and Sellicks Beach, enjoying a beer at Willunga, and experiencing the Fringe Festival in Adelaide's east end.Today on 29/02/2024 Leap Day, it was an extremely early start joining [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY) to drive north to attend Clare's morning event. As the sun rose, we meandered back to Adelaide via Auburn, Saddleworth, Peters Hill, Tarlee, and Gawler, and I then proceeded solo visiting targeted geocaches in Adelaide's north around Mawson Lakes. A couple of targeted geocaches in North Adelaide's park lands with [gridge98](https://coord.info/PRGKDMY), and I then headed east to Stepney and Toorak Gardens, before visiting Mega HQ. The day's remainder was spent catching up with old geocaching friends, geocaching, gadget caching, and closing-out the day with [The Side Event](http://coord.info/GCAH07T) dinner.Adventure Labs visited included: [Adelaide Icon Tour with Neobatrachus Pictus](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/e4e6daf2-4904-4f32-9a49-3308a1d7a075); [Hidden History of Charles Sturt Council](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/f1f49ce0-0345-4bb0-9cf6-f1ff813d80d9); [Sporting Adelaide](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/746734fb-eab7-4058-8072-922a43bdc332); [The Great Leap Forward Gadget Caches](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a2d616d0-5583-4663-a70c-605c6a88c956); and [Visiting South Australia's Special Places](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/44b6d461-0b3b-43b5-adf1-1c29f61766b7).

A big long weekend with the JAMS Crew (JJ52, allister w(me), mogni, Sir Spectre and tallbikestan). We road from Riverton to Stanley Flat on day 1. Then more riding near Spalding on day 2. Then finished the weekend with finding caches around the area in the car. TFTC
A 2001 cache and 1 of the 100 oldest caches in australia. great work. Love the location. well worth the hike up here and a target cache of the trip. A fav point. nice views
The JAMS team ( JJ52,Allister w, Mogni, and sir_spectre minus mitchell&hound ) but Tallbikestan was with us instead and we where out for there usually monthly caching adventure. This time it was over the october long weekend instead of the usual day trip. The taget this time was Drop into the Light a long ladder cache on the way to clare and then to clear the Rattler trail, Riesling Trail, Ne Trail saturday on the bikes and then sunday do the Mid North Channel Country bike trail. Monday on the return home was to get Peter's view a 2001 cache. Of course there was many, many other's found on route to the various target for the weekend, somewhere around 260 found by the team. It could have been more but we were not going at a flat out pace, just steady and getting a blow out on the bike 1.6 km's from the end of the Mid North Channel Country bike trail didn't help. I didn't see any snakes this trip but allister did, he saw 5. The caches this trip where written in as JAMS, i forgot the stamps. Also 1 cache was placed by the JAMS team this trip. Out of all the bike tracks i preferred the Rattler /Riesling trail. I like riding through the very rich ( after all the recent rains ) fields of yellow flowers.

The JAMS crew went on an October long weekend adventure back to Clare. We brought Tallbikestan along as we were targetting the bike tracks and he is the best rider amongst us. Allister W and sir_spectre we the other main riders, with JJ52 and I the support crew and walkers. A huge weekend of fun and adventure was had by all, until I made SS sick with my cold....oops.
Thanks to all those who have kept not just the bike tracks but all the other caches alive for us to find.
All caches signed as JAMS.
Thanks to me2 from mogni

Out and about today to clean up a few on the backroads of Kapunda and beyond.. Drove up to the gate before the hut and made our way up to GZ, Awesome views from up here.. Great to make a find on such an old cache. The cache still in good condition. Retreived TB. TFTC
We revisited this cache again today with the clan twice the size of the last visit in 2010. Still just as lovely as we remembered, with lazy white clouds drifting in a stunning blue sky and well preserved cache and logbook to bring back some memories. Thanks for the history, we appreciate it! T: marbles, bookmark. L: travel bug, key chain
Caught up with Trigger_fish for some afternoon fun, this one has been on our list for quite some time and the weather was perfect for a stroll, after finding the right approach in we set of for some up hill walking and it wasn't long and we were rewarded with some magnificent views. Cache was found in excellent condition and with the original logbook just short of 20 years old, read a few original logs and enjoyed the read, how times have changed we stamped our team name and date before a few pictures of the views from both sides before heading to the heysen trail Marshalls hut

In Kapunda for a weekend with the geo-pup.
It wasn't clear how to access this one, but once we got to the second cemetery, all became clear.
What a walk, well worth every bit of it's 2T... plus a couple more! Tin is still in good condition, as is the original log book. Fave from us.

I tried to access this cache back in 2019 but due to heavy rains the road was in passable, today the road was completely solid and dry so made our way all the way up to the hut. Parked and then continued on foot and along the hysen trail to GZ, the cache was found nicely tucked away although the tin is getting to the point of being rusted shut. Great to find this oldie though
Cache and contents are all good
After an early morning CITO on Anstey Hill, I met up with JJ52 to go caching for the day. With not much of a plan other than to cache around Eudunda for the day. We went from cache to cache finding 49 caches for the day and ending up in Kapunda after a big loop. A lot of middle of no where/back roads with 2 brown snakes spotted on our journey.
Thanks for the cache

I did not make it to the early morning CITO but a spur of the moment decision had me meeting up with gridge98 at Mawson Lakes to head up to Eudunda to find some out of the way caches that we both had not found. I left home at 7:30am and returned at 8:30pm after a big day with 49 finds. We did a big loop finishing in Kapunda and I think this was a record for me with the number of multis found in a day.
No wildlife spotted here today, but I did get to have a look in the hut. Nice views from up here and good to get this oldie.
Thanks for the cache me2.

Thanks me2 for this cache. We were camping nearby on Saturday night, and I woke at 6am feeling refreshed. I decided to trek to this one in the morning light before the others stirred. The map said 1.9km walk but as you know, this is not a straight line, I spend many zig zags and gate crossings to get here. Well worth it though, I found a great tin with difficult lid I was happy about, as it has kept the contents dry and clean. The cache was in excellent condition given its age, and the 9 months since it was last found. Took TB. FP4U. The views up here are fantastic, I have included one of the many photos I took.
TFTC wow that is an awesome looking climb to the cache. Due to a cracked rib I sustained earlier during the week & a knee which needs replacement I had to let geo hubby Animal62 climb this track alone to find, sign & date the log. However I did make it just past the cabin. thankfully he took some great pictures & a video.
TFTC WOW what a great trek to retrieve this cache, although I was a bit pooped, the scenery from up here was amazing. Unfortunately geowife LynSteNet couldn’t make the hike as she has a cracked rib & is in need of a knee operation however, she did manage to walk up to the hut. So after admiring the view I located the cache, signed the log then returned it to its hiding spot.
Back at the hut we had a good look around & we both signed the visitors book.
Thanks for showing us this amazing spot

This one was on the radar and had to be done - as the fire danger season has been brought forward to November 1, and with that the Heysen Trail is offically closed in these private property parts!
Was a nice day for a walk... 32 in the shade where I parked to the south,
and a great old cache location.
18 years old ! ! !
The walk was a stroll in the park... about 275 m UP though.
The description is correct - grass seeds everywhere - especially in my boots.
I can see a workmate's place from here, sort of... and the Waterloo wind farm in the distance.
Great views either side of the ridge - shows just how dry things have been lately [8)]
No snakes, no sheep, but I did meet four kangaroos, four ducks!!!, and one fox on the way up
There were also 2 million bloody flies, give or take a few [:(!]
I would keep a close eye out for wriggly things in these parts though, saw TWO on the road the other day and it was only 16 degrees then
Much appreciation to the Heysen Trail folk who maintain these routes and the landowners who let us wander through them.
Adding another Fav point for a great cache location, an old cache that's survived the years, and quite big and in good condition. Worth fifty of those drive by mint tins
Left a Geo Woodstock trackable coin to move along, and a discoverable TB card too.
Both will enjoy the views.

Beautiful. Spent my life growing up in the area and I had never come up here. I will bring my kids next time.
With GreyHams we set out on a new adventure, driving from Adelaide to Sydney via broken Hill and Bourke... with side trips in all directions as the caches lead us. Four days with a number of target caches along the way, although shires, oldies and virtuals were our priority with many others of interest too.
From the lush green of South Australia into the dry outback of NSW, contrast, scenic and interesting. With GreyHams trip planning we traveled along easily as he drove and navigated and chattered! Never a dull moment through the stark and barren land which was completely fascinating.
So many odd locations to be seen, as well as emus, kangaroos, birds, a desert horse and so many teeny tiny little goats! So many goats... I did love those goats! The dry and barren made way for more substantial lands as we drove closer towards the end of the trip, the trees returned, the hills and finally those little goats... Yay!
About 2500km, 29 shires, 4 virtuals, a number of oldies and some nice walks and places visited along the way. The locals and little towns memorable, the lands and rivers dry and sad but a great trip as we traveled along from cache to cache.
Thanks for your cache to help guide us through our travels, apologies for the generic log, If I had more to add its below this.
Wow what a spot! Great old stone hut in this valley as we past on our way, everything's so green. What an up to get along the track, but not so far so only a little winge from time to time as I walked upwards. Views are spectacular and so worth the walk.

Aquilus1 and I have long been looking at our Project-GC maps and trying to 'finish' NSW, which is our closest real state (we both completed the ACT on our first ever finds). Of course we rarely have long term plans, the best trips just sort of happen without too much notice, but we had been thinking about this trip since halfway through the last one.
This plan was to go from Adelaide to Canberra, via the 'hard to reach' counties at the north/north-west of NSW that we had missed last time. Some research showed flights to Adelaide were cheap (well, using points) but also well timed. Arriving at the start point at 7.30am means you are away with a full days caching in front of you. What really sealed it was the one-way car hire deals from Adelaide to Sydney/Melbourne. Sure, this means we have to catch the bus from Sydney airport, but saving $800 sure has a sweet taste.
Day 1:
After landing in ADL airport we made a swift start grabbing the virtual there, I do so love an airport virtual. From there it was all about Oldies and Counties with a couple of Large caches thrown in for bonus value.... got to love a Large! Soooo many counties in Adelaide, and we grabbed as many as we could without detouring massively... we had a long way to go in 4 days after all. I did quite like the grid layout of Adelaide, it means if you encounter roads that are blocked it was easy to reroute. It was slow going in Adelaide (city caching is always slow) but we eventually made our way out and got to the highway. Almost missed Gawler as we were too busy chatting away, it would have left a large hole in our county maps The Clare valley has such an amount of caches and a bunch of oldies, so it took a bit of time to get through as well. So, so green up this way, it was a pleasant surprise for me. The original plan was to get all the way to Broken Hill today but with so many counties and oldies we only got as far as Peterborough, in the dark amid pouring rain.... and got the last 2 rooms in the last motel in town...close call. This was 'proper' small town and we had dinner at the hotel, as it was the only place open.
Day 2:
OK, we have some time to make up as we are 3 hours down the road from where we though we would be starting this day...luckily my alarm was gentle and right on time. Wow, the countryside looks so, so different to yesterday. Now is proper outback and by the time we got to Yunta it was almost desert, really dramatic stuff, but still populated with the odd random goat. We got to Broken Hill and prioritised the highlights: the mine shaft and the big chair.... the HJ's was a fine lunch as well. From there we left and continued across the scrub of western NSW, through Wilcannia, into Cobar with goats galore in between and finally to Bourke, once again in the dark and rain. Bourke was our original destination for Day 2 and we surprised ourselves at making it this far. Again we got the last 2 rooms in the last motel in town.... and we tried 4!! Really riding our luck.
Day 3:
OK, next services are in Brewarinna which is 180km away, we have fuel for 200... so off we drive into the desert without a second thought. Yep, smart thinking! We did make it of course but it was a close run thing. Rivers out here were very sad to see... mostly just sand with water here and there.... but not much. Bogan river was non-existant, the Barwon a set of pools with nothing in between. We went through Walgett, less said the better. Through Gilgandra on a private new road ending at Mudgee. Motel had heaps of rooms for once!
Day 4:
Last day and all about getting to the airport through the blue mountains grabbing counties on the way. After dropping off the car we ran to the bus where it was waiting and managed to convince the driver to let us on, while I was buying tickets over the phone... all worked out in the end, but yet another example of our fine luck on the trip.

Having recently found the Ausmer Challenge cache we have been actively seeking out caches hidden in months missing from our Australian Jasmer grid - this was one of them and so we simply had to come and search for this one. We parked our hired cache-mobile/campervan at the bottom cemetery and then began our ascent up the hill and past the overnight hikers hut. The cache was soon found once at Ground Zero and log book signed, then we paused to enjoy the splendid views and take some photos. It was also great to see the entries in the log book going all the way back to the First to Find! Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for having bought us to this great location and for keeping this golden oldie cache in the game - now we have just two more missing months to fill! Greetings from Zimbabwe
Day 4 of a dedicated geotrip from QLD to SA to tick off lots of boxes for Kestal and Mrs Esky...today we are slowly caching our way north to Moonta travelling in the company of Aussie M & M who are driving/navigating...targeting unfound hidden months was top priority and this one filled a spot for the Eskies. The walk ended up being quite pleasant due to Aussie Mark's offroad abilities that the rest of us were objecting to at the time but ended up being grateful for. Lovely breezy spot at the top (found at 10am) before heat of day. Thanks for bringing us here, me2.
Onto the next one and this was a must do on our list for Eskies5 and I while we were in SA as it filled a hidden month that hadn't been gathered before. An interesting journey to the parking of the car before we made our way to GZ. A nice walk to the hide and after a short search we had this little old hide in our hands ready for the log book to be signed. Happy to have a smiley here, TFTC me2
We were targetting some older caches while in the area with kestal and Eskies5. Aussie Mark kept the girls company as the found a cache previously found by Aussie Mary. Then we all headed to Peter's View. Aussie Mark likes a challenge and decided to head up a very rough track to a nearby walking area.
Well, Mary didn't like it, Anna didn't like it and soon 3 cachers were keen for Mark to stop the vehicle. Instead he shrugged off their concerns and continued on. Certainly made this a very memorable cache.
We had a lovely walk up here and there were great views to be had.

Found on hike to peters hill after riding the Riesling trail today - so tired!
WOW. Just wow!!!!!! Thank you for the cache me2. We are going to come back another day to try and catch a sunset from up here.
The puzzled puzzlers set out on our first Wednesday escapade. Changing from Tuesday meant myself, Blackadders, Doctor Owl and SA Sewer rats were all available. As usual we set our mystery tour target as to make our way to Clare and cache around there. As usual we spent the whole day caching and never made it to Clare. [B)]
We made our way in to the see the old cemeteries. Whilst there we had a poke around the hut and went for a walk to collect the two caches that were also in the area. Coming up from the hut it was a steep walk but well worth it when we reached GZ and had fantastic views. I rescued the TB from its long exile. [^]

Mrs Rat went caching with a Starfish, an Owl and an Adder.
We decided to checkout the views.
We parked the geomobile at the hut.
Then a slow hike up to the ridge.
Hop a few fences, and a stroll over to the cache.
Stop and take in the views.
The views were awesome, cache in good condition. Tftc

It was Wednesday and that meant the new day for the available members of the Puzzled Puzzler group to go find caches. The target today was Clare - a town that was actually not reached all day. Too many caches to distract them on the way! This was the tenth of the day for Owl and she amassed a satisfying total of smilies, mostly found by other people. This was one that required more effort than the Owl thought she had, so the Starfish had already found the cache by the time she puffed up the hill. 2 terrain it isn't! Great views though.
The usual troupe of animals from the puzzled puzzlers group, this time on a Wednesday ventured out on this marvelous day to seek yet more of our un-found hides. Today's mission was Clare however we just did not seem to make it with all these other caches that diverted us from our goal.
This time a little exercise was needed, firstly the difficulty was to find a way in with so many possible routes that were all blocked off, Grrr. Perseverance and an entry was found, now for the ascent. A few rest stops for a couple in the group and our way was made to the View. No Peters in the view so we referred to it as the puzzled puzzlers view. After the log was signed and a pathtag retrieved it was a short rest and enjoyment of the nearby scenery before heading off to the next.

Pprime, Crew 153, and I were visiting South Australia with a primary target of getting some old-timey caches.
If it were up to me, we wouldn't have ended up doing this one. And that would have been a shame. I was already dubious about the path to the first graveyard we had taken the ASX. A good old boy at the graveyard pointed out the way to get closer.
I pottered the ASX slowly along the path. I could see lower 2WDs parked in the distance, so it can't be too bad. We found a good place to park and kitted up.
We set off up the hill. I was cursing my slow speed as I trudged up the hill. Up and and over a few fences and were soon motoring toward GZ. Mr Crew 153 was the one that spotted this one. Time to take 5. We signed the log and re-hid the cache as found.
What a great view is to be had from up here. We took some time to take some snaps. We timed hiding the cache well as about 50 hikers came along and were among them for a time.
I was a very happy lad to get back to that car. It was oh so worth it though. I am glad Pprime persisted and got us there. TFTC me2 - and thanks for keeping the cache alive for so long

Pprime (P'), Fangsoki and I had planned a long weekend assault on South Australia caches. We were targeting old, rare, unique and interesting caches.
We were on day 3 which would take us from Adelaide to Whyalla and back in 18 hours for 17 finds
This cache was on our hit list because of its age.
We had done some investigation about access before we left home and found that we could drive in through a couple of gates and park at the Hut. the walk up to the ridge from here really got the lungs pumping and then a pleasant stroll to get to the cache. We soon found the cache and then took time for Peter to enjoy Peter's View. A pack of hikers came along just as we were leaving the cache and we tagged along as they were heading to the Hut for lunch.

Three Mad Queenslanders (Fangsoki, Crew153 and I) have arrived in Adelaide for a long weekend chasing old caches. This is day three and we are heading North. This one took us a moment to sort out an approach that the hire ASX could take - through a couple of gates and past a stack of camping muggles, and some cows, then on foot up the hill and out to here. Being a Peter myself there was much joviality on this one - and I must say I am proud to have been associated (by coincidence alone) to this spot. The views on either side of the ridge were awesome.
Thanks for placing this cache, me2. Found in good condition.

Found this one after a nice walk.
Met the farmer on the way to the cache - nice chap!
Had a great day out in the Autumn sunshine.
A few farmers were out seeding, and the freshly turned soil smelt great.

This cache was targeted on our trip because it is an older cache that was placed in a month needed for our Jasmer Challenge. I love finding older caches and this one was no exception .
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to me2 for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Peter's view today. This is my find #7237 and find #177 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again me2 for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

I have made it a bit of a mission of late to chase down some of the older caches in WA, and attempt to complete my Jasmer Challenge.
This cache is one of the ones that I needed to grab to fill in a date period.
Jinta29 and I headed over to SA to grab as many caches as we possibly could, and also fill as many Jasmer periods as possible.
What a great view from up here, we parked at the corner on Murray's Rd and wandered up the trail from there. We stopped for a photo at the trig point and then continued on until our names were in the logbook.

This is one of the oldest on my unfound list. Well not anymore, as my Bestie brought me up here for the view. And what a view it is today. The geokids loved it too.
We didn't stay too long admiring the view as it was quite cool on top.
Great to see the original logbook still insitu and to read a few of the logs that are a bit longer than just a name in the book!

Clare007, muggle partner and I headed out for the weekend to try and get me to my 5,000th locus cache smiley
All up, at weekend's end, I had 67 smileys and only 2 DNFs and somewhere along the way, the magic 5,000th find happened
Drove some fun roads, found some great caches and just generally had a fantastic time geocaching, as usual!
What a spot!
With our generous motorcycle riding escort, who opened the gate for us and then showed off his prowess by slaloming through the long grass on the side of the hill, on his dirt bike leading the way for two thirds of the track, we turned Peter's View into a drive by with only about a 24m walk
Now I see what almost every other log raved about and I am ever so glad that we made the time to get into here today!...Those views are stunning! [^]
This was fun but I obviously need more 4WD practice as I was as nervous as anything coming up here..and I was driving
Thanks so much for getting us up here to enjoy this spot!

Locus cache & I along with muggle partner slowly made our way towards Clare.
Made some slight detours along the way at Kapunda, Hamiton, Riverton, Belvedere, Saddleworth and Marabel.
We mentioned to the young men that we had to get to the hill up yonder and the older of the two
offer to open the gate & escort us up there.
As figured the best way was by 4WD, we graciously accepted the offer.
After finding the way to the cache, finding the neat hide and admiring the view we needed to find a way out.
Locus cache managed to slowly steer us down & in the right direction.

I am reasonably sure this is the oldest cache I've found. Very excited to read all the logs from 2001 onwards.
The geoparents and I headed out on a very pleasant Sunday drive before I head back to Qld tomorrow. ChummyA7 and I marched briskly to the top of the hill and found the cache quite quickly. We wondered if parking the car down and to the west was the ideal approach, but whatever. Spiderfoot11 decided to wait halfway up the hill as a gammy knee was being felt a bit.
Gorgeous views on a stunning bit of ?Heysen Trail. Thanks for bringing us to this magical part of Australia.

A quick find on a bit of an adventure day for the Grumpy drag along (geohubby) to help Burton's reach 2000 by new years. Had a real found by farmers day as everywhere I went a farmer seemed to be pulling up beside me to ask what I was doing. A short explanation was all they required before going on their way!!
A fantastic view over both valleys. Well worth the short stroll to the top and don't forget the camera like I did. I'll be back!!!

Just like most of the last finders, we walked up the long way and what a walk it was hehe, stopped for a rest many times on the way up, really this was fantastic, the views here amazing. At the top many large falcons flew over us, 3 within the space of 2 minutes, truely deserves a favorite from us. The two caches close by here were the best in a big day of caching out this part of the world. TFTC, loved it. Took: mini tennis ball. Left: Golf ball & Goanna.. (was sure we had the golf tee too.. what a shame). This also happened to be our 300th find, couldn't of picked a better cache for it.

"Best from the south" needs a bit of refining,I see there is a track that approaches from the "West is best".This after a long walk was the best find for the day for me.A pair of Kookaburras greeted me at the second hill from the south, spooked a fox and seen quite a few of skippys cousins on way to site.I dont think this is my oldest cache find but it comes pretty close, tftc and I mean it.
Decided to make this one a family picnic while holidaying nearby. Great views of the Gilbert and Barossa Valleys and some great caching history to boot. We searched through the logs to find the first "TNLN" and other caching abbreviations. A Wedgetailed Eagle soared nearby and we headed off to log the trig point as well.

Found after a disappointing preliminary final day at Riverton. A great cache with fabulous views in all directions - especially beautiful in the late afternoon of a warm Spring day, with the grass still green, canola bright yellow and a subtle haze in the distance.
So pleased to have an excuse to stretch the legs, breath in the fresh air and enjoy the beauty of the country side in spring.
Although not found for year, the cache was snug and dry and secure - always amazes me!

A few reports of the cache being wet, so I have now changed the container.
The white-ants have eaten the original hiding spot, so I tried to re-create it with a bit of local debris.
Added a cat and a dog to the contents.
I still hate the hill!!

It's been a while since us J's have done any uphill caching, so we were really looking forward to this one. Followed the ridge around from Marschalls Hut enjoying the panoramic views on the way. Herded a few sheep out of the way that were grazing near GZ before spotting the likley hidey hole. A nice big container, but after nearly six years out here is letting a bit of moisture in. Log book is in good nick though, so signed it and made no swap. Thanks David, great geocache.

Great view- We walked it between the two by heading to the back of the hill and avoiding going down just to go up again. . As we strolled over the styles put there for the heysen trail there was a chap just sitting on his chair looking at the view! He had walkded in and was just resting before heading off again!Left a lizard and took a marble. This cache was much larger than we were expecting.
