I was attending the Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder game with my Dad tonight.I came to get my daily cache with him beforehand.Unfortunately, we couldn't find this one. So I'll have to see what else is around after the game ends.
Southern Autumn adventure Day 24. Blackwood SA trip Day 5. I decided to head into the city to walk around getting some of the puzzles and multis I have been avoiding for some time now. The walking seemed never ending and some caches sent me the wrong way. It was not entirely successful, but some I could bot do today, I managed to revisit on Saturday. I must say there still seems to be a huge numbers of caches in the city to be found and i will have things to do on future visits.
I do not get over this side of the river very often, so I was interested to find the information and head to GZ. There were dome discarded belongings here, bit no one about, so I could look around and around until I saw what was right there to be seen and signed the log.
Thanks for the cache Trigg-A-Nomics

Today was a day I needed to find 4 caches for a personal challenge I have set myself and as it was going to be really hot I didn't feel like walking any distance so found a few that would be reasonably easy, albeit quite a distance from home!
I had been here previously when the cache was missing so after noting that it had been replaced I was in the area with SpidermonkeysMum and we came for the walk to come and find it. She had found it previously but we still had a bit of trouble actually spotting it and it was only after a PAF that we spotted something we had disregarded on our first look.
Thanks for the cache Trigg-A-Nomics.

It's a lovely Saturday. I had an appointment in CBD, and I tried two caches on the way. Luckily I found both of them. This was the last one for today.
Many many years ago, I and J visited many interested spots in the "Engineering a City" series caches. Cannot remember exactly how many years ago, but at least 5 or 6 years.
We visited all the spots in several weekends, then saved the final location in the "to-find list". Last year I had an opportunity to check the final location, but with no luck to find the cache.
Today I had another attempt. Only one find for this cache in the past two years, but at least it seems cache has been replaced.
Parked in the nearby carpark, and walked all the way to GZ. Lots of things have been changed, since my last visit in last year. Cache has been found easily. Nice hide.
Signed the log, and placed it back.
Thanks for the multi cache, Trigg-A-Nomics MEng(GC). Like the "Engineering a City" series caches, but unfortunately 2 of 4 had been archived. Now only 1 left to find (#4). I tried twice for #4, still cannot find it. Wish myself good luck next time.

Went to the final GZ a few weeks ago and looked but found nothing, so emailed the CO who confirmed that I was in the exact location. With the CO's permission I went back to GZ and put a replacement container back in its hideyhole. TFTC Trigg-A-Nomics!
Tried the final location on a beautiful Sunday morning, but cannot find the cache.
Will be back.
Will be back.
Stopped off here with a couple of previous finders and although we had a very good look around we couldn't find the cache.
A great little multi, with some help I found myself at GZ, the log was unable to be signed as the log is wet.
We managed to have a few days break over the Christmas New Year period. After Christmas in Geelong we headed over to Adelaide for a few days.
There wasn't a lot of caching but we did manage to find a few in between touristy stuff and eating. Today it was a bit cooler so we jumped on the bikes and headed off along the Torrens.
A really interesting multi - unfortunately it is saturated and manky - it could do with some love.
Thanks for the fun Trigg-A-Nomics

This multi, while enjoyable, took us a fair while to complete as we have done it multiple attempts over a period of several months. We finally gathered the last of the needed detail during the week and took off today to make the find. Which we did but unfortunately could not sign the waterlogged log book As this is a "city cache" we ventured out without our caching gear so we did not have a replacement to put into the container... i was recommended to me by another cacher as one of the more interesting ones to do. I got some numbers but my maths didn't agree. with some help i got some better numbers. nice location for a cache and a clever hide. quick find.
After having a midday lecture at Uni and the rest of the afternoon to myself, I decided to try and fit in a few caches before it was time to go home and work on assignments. It was a pleasant walk along the

This multi-cache had been done over a few months collecting the necessary information. There were two waypoints that appeared to be trouble and had to confirm values with the CO. Be aware of:
- EAC203 | W7, as I think some modifications have been done, and the number you need should be subtracted by one to the value you find on the nearest traffic light pole (unless the CO updates the question in the description); and
- EAC206 | W9, as I found a discrepancy to the Engineer you find on the weir plaque, compared to who I think the question actually refers to.
Coming past at lunch on a lunch run, it didn't take long to look around before thinking where it may be, and sure enough, it was in a very sneaky hiding spot indeed. If it wasn't for a few of the discrepancies above, I think this one would have definitely been worthy of a FP, as it was a good one around the city and great hide. Shame half these city engineering multi-caches have been archived! Thanks.

This was a few weekends in the making... the first time we went out we couldn’t get all the information due to a festival blocking our path. But managed to finally grab this one today on a day out to the city! There are some amazing spots in Adelaide, every time I go out I find new reasons to love it.

We had to do this in two runs. Blocked halfway the first time due to a concert on the river. Today almost thought the festival was going to be our enemy. Located GZ to find a clever hide. TFTC and the trip around the river.
Found this awesome hide with a much smaller group from the nearby event. The earlier larger group mentioned to us how they had to wait it out due to people fishing. Wasn't a problem for us, no one around.
Not sure how far we have got with this series but we have found quite a few. Noted the clue all the same.

I began this series of multis 5-6 years ago, soon after I started geocaching, but never got around to completing any of them. I noticed that some had been archived recently and didn't really expect to find any of them before they were all archived. However this evening, while at the nearby event, someone mentioned that the final was located nearby, so I (along with quite a few others) took the opportunity to find and log it. An excellent hiding spot! Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics MEng(GC) for the cache.
With the research done and the final location stored for future attempts we had previously been unable to get near this location due to the large number of muggles during normal working or daylight hours. With an event nearby on a perfect evening we could use the cover of "safety in numbers" to take over the hiding place and undertake a good search without worry about other inquisitive passers by. A quickish find when looking on the right side and a log signed. TFTC and the education.
A nearby event gave an ideal opportunity to find a cache that has been bugging Owl for ages as she's been unable to make the numbers work. Fortunately, someone else had worked out what she'd failed at. Unfortunately, a group of fishers had set up camp. Fortumately, the group kayaks could provide cover. Unfortunately, the fisherfolk were even more interested in the kayaks than in fishing. Fortunately, they were gone when the group returned and Spidermonkey was able to use brute force to make the find.
Found while attending an event in one of my favourite parts of the City. Quite often find myself amazed by the early engineering feats. Got a bit dirty locating the cache, after waiting out some fishers, then realised I had weirdly scraped both arms. Cache a bit damp, so we included some fresh paper out of the handbag of wonders.... Great spot, thanks for the cache
Had noticed that this wasn't far away so after returning from the main traditional, and noticing some fellow attendees in attendance, wandered over to add my name to the log.

I was joined today by hevwalker and Mrs. S.A. Sewer Rats for a day of caching around the CBD clearing up some unfound and previous DNFs. [8)] Managed to clear off two of them but also managed to add three to my list. [:(!] [:(!]
Time to finally get this one off the list before it also disappears. Sadly when it does all the interesting information discovered will probably be lost forever too. If you haven't done any in the series get in quick.
Arriving at GZ I was glad there were no muggles. Carefully I took off the lid but as I extracted the log a small fish eraser made its bid for freedom and leapt into the water. The logbook is just about full now if the next finder could replace please.
Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics for this cache.

The weather was amazing, and a lovely 9km walk around the river was needed this morning. I've clocked up some serious 'leg miles' on this whirlwind weekend tour but this 9km was the easiest. It was great to explore the riverside, the final location was very cool - favourite point added. Thanks for the cache, Trigg-A-Nomics.

Had been doing this bit by bit then today I found myself at Calvary Hospital. Having dropped my mom off for day surgury I was told to "go away for 3 or 4 hours" ........ perfect chance to finish this off ...... well ..... so I thought!!!! On getting to the structure on which I was sure was the cache I found a very drunk gentleman ( this was at 8.00 in the morning) throwing up all over himself and the structure!!! He was also busy hurling abuse at passing rowers. Departed the scene for an hour and then returned to find said gentleman gone allowing for a careful search. Found the thing!!!!! So concerned was I about not kneeling in some remnant vomit I didn'tsee the duck poo but it was worth it to put this one to rest!!!Thanks Trigganomics for quite an adventure!!!! ........a favourite!!!
Did not find.
Our coordinates sent us to iran!
Please send me correct coordinates someone so i can look what my calculations went wrong. Somehow our total came to 74.

One of these little yellow symbols is quite close to our home and appears on screen quite regularly. So we thought it was time to bite the bullet and learn about Engineering a city.
Both Brad's father and son are engineers and he could have so easily chosen that career path as well.
It seemed reasonable to get the information for all four of the multis at the same time so a path was chosen and a couple of days were spent wandering around places that I thought I knew to gather information.
I lost track of the number of times I thought I didn't know that!
Eventually I got 4 sets of coordinates and headed out to find some caches.
This was the first located and the easiest find. The hint took me right to it. Got to like that!
Data gathered for number 5.

Checked on this during a visit to the area and confirmed that the Creswell Garden arch is still there!
Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Have seen the engineering series around the place and early in my caching experience multis worried me but then we did one and it was great. So started working on the more simple ones and enjoyed the experience. So as an engineer I decided to do this series and also Learn something about the city I have lived in for a long time. Started wandering around at lunchtimes gathering the required data and recently finished this one. Did the calcs at home and on the way into work decided to grab this one. Wandered over to the calculated Coords and having read the hint spotted several possibilities. Tried the wrong ones first and as always it was in the last place I looked. Signed log and replaced. Luckily no muggles around to bother about. Great cache. Enjoyed the stroll around the river, although the Cresswell gardens sign was not there but with a little guessing and confirmation from street view I got the correct answer. Phew. 1 down 3 to go plus the final. Looking forward to that. Gratias pro cache.
Having pretty much ignored these series over the last few years, I finally figured it about time to pay a bit more attention to these caches.
Over three separate visits whilst walking the dog with the family along the Torrens and the northern parts of the city all the clues for this cache and the Promenades cache were collected and after hiding a new cache nearby I made the small trip to GZ and collected my first clues for the final cache. Hopefully it’ll be back on line by the time I collect all four clues.
Thanks for installment #1Trigg-A-Nomics!

Plenty of wildlife, skinks, swans etc around the river too.
log sheet a little damp. Used 40 degree sun to dry a bit, then returned with extra sheet.

Mr Tardis started this one a long time ago, and finally today was the day to finish this one off. I love all the interesting engineering history.
I was a bit worried about my final co-ordinates, but then getting close to GZ I was feeling confident again. And sure enough a very good hiding place for the cache.

Unlike the previous finders it seems, my numbers came out beautifully. I took a walk around the northern side of the city last Saturday after work and picked up all the waypoints for this one and a couple near Botanic Park too. I had the biggest trouble at the weir where I missed the obvious and it wasn't until quitters luck kicked in that I spotted the information I needed. Tonight after work, armed with the final coords, I wandered to GZ to make a pretty quick find. What a novel hiding place

Gotcha!
After a pleasant cruise around North Adelaide in the morning, the TM and 3/4Z decided to meander down the river. A joint effort on this one that involved everything from mad dashes across the road, to pleasant walks in the park.
But with numbers obtained.... Uh Oh... Checksum does not check. Damn.
We are only 2 out from a "valid" number, so what if we just add 2 to our total and barge on?
So barge on we did. The result that we obtained lead us somewhere that raised our hopes.
We looked....
We looked more...
Then I looked right in front of my nose....
Ah HA!
Thanks again Trigg-A-Nomics

With 3Zimmers and a Tiger, you'd think we'd be able to cope with some simple counting and some maths. Unfortunately, after roaming the length of the Torrens, the solution we engineered didn't marry up with the checksum
BUT
with some common-sense (not sure where we found it) we made a deduction on the numbers and recalculated the final GZ. A short drive and the location made sense. The tallest Zimmer made a find in the lowest position. All hail the engineers!! Not sure where we stuffed up the numbers (but we have our suspicions). TFTC Trigg-A-Nomics

Today I set myself the task of collecting all in this series while riding around the CBD on a treadly, and sadly I failed as I only managed to grab the first three. I guess a trifecta isn't too bad.
Continuing on from the first in this series, I proceeded to make my way back and along/around the river. The shield proved a little hard to locate for some reason, not sure if I have cache blindness today or not. Then it was a quick find after the final location was calculated. Another favourite for the awesome camo hide!

Events are always good for getting hints on those puzzle caches and others that have been nagging you for a while. Went out caching with locus cache, honeysucker and Walrus after the SAGA Awards event and grabbed a few more puzzles and multis. TFTC.
Socond find in this series. Really enjoying the walks around town. Log was super soggy so couldnt sign.
I dragged earthlight out very early to go and see some episodes of McCleods Daughters at Channel 9 so we lost half the day to start with before we could commence to locus caches.
Once we started caching, I scored 15 smileys with 5DNFs (for a variety of reasons) then we had an early night and I was home by 8.45pm
A quick find for us today, however the log was very wet and I didn't have supplies on me to replace it, sorry.
We dried out the bag as much as possible and hopefully with warmer weather coming, the log will engineer itself into a drier state!

Over the last few weekends of our trips in to the city to try and get the CBD map cleared, and do some of these long multi's that we had put off, we collected some of the clues for this one.
Today, in an effort to try and complete the series we managed to get the last two in the series out of the way, just leaving us to return home and calculate the final.
Thankful that we grabbed the cache when we did as when we went past 10 minutes later on the way back to the car GZ was occupied!
Cache is a bit damp inside, and the ants seem to like the decoy.

Another cache that we've been chipping away at for a few weeks. All clues found easily except for W9 - Torrens Weir, where we had to investigate the two names we found there back at home.
Today we took a short stroll to the final waypoint, and thought we'd made a quick find, but managed to come up with the decoy! I replaced the decoy and found the correct cache as a matter of course. the log sheet is a little bit damp, but will hopefully dry out on its own.

I had a little while to kill after checking out of my hotel this morning and getting a taxi to the airport, so I took the opportunity to spent some time completing this multi.
Once at GZ, the Geobairns and I sat and had a picnic with the supplies stashed in the bottom of the geopram, which kept them occupied long enough for me to retrieve the clever little hide.

Really enjoyed this on a beautiful day walking along the Torrens learning about the Engineering history of Adelaide. Finally got to GZ where some council men were using this part of the river to load up prunings that their mates were bringing over in a boat from the other side!! Loved the hide, too. Found at lunchtime after collecting the clues.
I got to gz and assumed that I was in the wrong spot because I "knew" where it would be.
Off I wandered to where I thought it would be.
Returned to my original spot only to see muggles feeding the local wildlife nearby.
Lucky for me they soon left and the cache was quickly in hand.

We did all the work for this one the previous weekend, on a really nice walk around the river, which included lunch in the Botanic Gardens. We couldn't retrieve the cache at the time, as there were a couple of muggles at GZ. We came back a couple of hours later and they were still there.
I have run this same path many times for the Corporate Cup. Thanks for an excellent afternoon. I think I'll do the rest by bike thought.

Found It!
With the fisherman out of the way all I had to worry about was the rowing tournament happening nearby. I probably confused the rowers with my searching positions...
Soon found the cache!

Another enjoyed myself - history and visit worth it. Signed the log. Thanks Trigg-a-nomics.
My first attemtpt was when a FTF was in the offing but I made a mistake and finished up elsewhere and out of time to repeat the journey. I revisited the WP's over time and have had the location of GZ for a fair while.
I've ridden past this location many times but have always had my find for the day, today was a bit different as I'd been unable to access intended caches due to muggles.
Thanks for the engineering lesson Trigg-A-nomics. I look forward to completing this series.

I woundn't normally log this DNF as I didn't actually look but...
On a cold and rainy Saturday what could possibly get in my way at 10am in the morning???
A fisherman. I have never seen anyone fish from this lake before - let along on a cold and rainy Saturday... (are there even fish in there?)
Came back a few hours later and he was still there and to my surprise he had a bucket full of fish!
Will return on an even colder and wetter day...

A enjoyable multi, we used our bikes today, making it easier than trying to find parks, great hide and looking forward to the others in the series TFTC
It took a couple of goes to fininsh this pleasant stroll off. Our first attempt at this was on a day when there was some major event going on and we couldn't find any parking so abandoned it before we even begun.
On a cool summer day we tried again with much more success. Unfortunately we had parked the furtherest away from the final and after doing the loop as well as walking up through the city, we decided to leave finding the actual cache to another day. Well, that day finally came and off we went. Approaching the cache from afar we thought we may have had to go bin diving but luckily it proved not to be the cache

Headed off at lunch time to collect the last couple of clues for #2 with an easy walk along the River Torrens; an easy set of calculations later and I was on my way to GZ (is there something there?)
I would have walked passed this spot 100 times and not spotted the structure at GZ, that's why I really like caching. I put my hand on the cache within the first 30 seconds of looking; however I did not realise what I was looking for and kept on going .. 10 minutes later I was about to give up .. I checked on a few previous logs and re-did my search from the start -- ahh how cool, decoy and all .. I was a little worried I was going to drop something and have to go for a swim!
I remembered to grab the clue for #5 this time! Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics; only 1 clue left to collect #3 .. that'll be next

Found in the company of shonkylogic. That bloke in the 4WD proved to come in quite handy as he was our wheels for the night. . TFTC, looking forward to doing the others in the series when I'm next in Adelaide.
Had done the leg work previously (mostly at night); although the final plaque took me several crossings to spot as I kept coming across the wrong one required; and had calculated a likely spot, even though one prominent spot was skipped.
Had been to the dentist for a checkup (and admired her engineering technology - would hate to have needed a dentist 100 years ago) and with some time on my hands enjoyed a pleasant stroll to GZ and a quick find in a lovely hide and spot. I wonder if the choice of the objects used by the builders which doubles as GZ was their way of making a statement about the nearby conditions
Took note of the clue, but left nothing.

lochb and I went for a river walk and fought off pesky mozzies, the occasional duck and some bloke in a 4wd that showed no respect for parking laws.
An early morning find as the previous evening I was muggled out of GZ.
Some of the information was gathered last visit and the rest on Thursday afternoon on a lovely walk which took in a couple of other caches as well.
Enjoyed the decoy, glad I fell for it too.
Noted the clue and will save the rest of the series for a few weeks time when I am next in town.
Thanks Trigg-a-nomics

We were going to try and get this one yesterday but a certain bike race got in the way. Beautiful weather again today and an enjoyable walk to gz. Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics MEng(GC)
It was a beautiful day for a walk along the river, so we left the car behind for most of #2.
Nice hide at the final too. Like previous finders I also fell for the decoy first.
Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics. Really enjoying this series!

Success in caching seems to affect different people in different ways!
Congratulations winterdragon in solving this riveting problem.

Congratulations winterdragon in solving this riveting problem.
By a curious coincidence, the number of "ha"s in Winterdragon's log equals the number of rivet jokes the average civil engineer has to endure per year. This is only exceeded by the number of times they are asked "So are you a train driver?"

Sorry, I was just showing my appreciation for Trigg's awful pun, not having a go at Civil Engineers, who build fine structures that hardly ever fall down. Of course Electrical Engineers are the best kind, and Mechanical Engineers are the ones that drive the trains.
To the optimist, the glass is half full.
To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.
To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

Did you know that there are actually two plates at EAC201, on the NW and NE corners? Fortunately they have the same number of rivets, which I confirmed by counting a number of times and taking the average. No wait, that's the scientific method. The engineering method is to calculate the number of rivets per square meter, then measure the area of the plate, and multiply the two numbers. Then back to the weir for my fourth visit while geocaching - what is it with caches near that weir?
I loved the hide at GZ - very creative construction! I wonder if anyone will try and use them, and whether they'll work adequately? Found the decoy first, and the cache second.
TNLN - Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics.

Went cycling along the river Sunday AM to recheck some counts as the checksum was wrong. While resting and pondering near the lovely Albert Bridge was a bit bemused by people obviously participating in some sort of event smiling and thanking me as they passed by. Was then asked if this is the right way. Right way to where? Then noticed a couple of gentlemen with yellow safety vests who seemed to be officials in the event, and realised I too wore a yellow vest with volunteer on it, (left over from my Heysen Trail days). Promptly stuffed vest into bum bag.
Anyway eventually deduced that I had used the wrong engineers name at one location.
Home for lunch and to do the maths. After another stumble, (octogenarians hazy recollections of maths rules), got a credible location by following simple instructions given.
Took Mrs Ducat for Sunday arvo drive to GZ only to find mugganglers settled in.
Revisit early AM Monday and found the clever hide.
Thanks again Trig-A-Nomics for an interesting series. On to # 3.

I ended up here somehow and there were no muggles. What a journey. That's all the official business now of those wonderful wpts done!! Great little hide. Love your work. Clear skies.
Freddo has correctly pointed out that IANACE (I Am Not A Civil Engineer), although I must say I thoroughly enjoyed Statics and Dynamics with Dr. Yeo in first year.

On two occasions looked and looked and looked and then finally had to call for help. Thanks, you know who, for reminding me to read the hint.

We'd collected all the clues for this one on Saturday, but arrived at GZ to find a muggle settled in for a day of fishing. Came back this evening and thankfully found the place empty, and figured out where the cache would be pretty quickly. Nicely done. Liking this series a LOT.
Once again I had two locations to check. This time it was because I missed a couple of numbers somewhere. I think perhaps it was those fasteners under the bidge. I reckon I counted them 50 times and got 50 different answers. Actually they are rivets. Engineering Factoid: The great meccano set sometimes called the Sydney Harbour Bridge contains not one bolt!
At the end the two calculated locations were less then 10m apart and GZ was obvious as you arrived.
Facherpersons! What facherperons? None were there when I arrived at GZ. I found the decoy first and the actual cache second. Silver to the frog nation. Nicely done. No benchmarks this time. Lots of nice iron on this tour though.
I now have four pieces of a puzzle and the number of hairs on my head is steadily reducing.

Spent six hours in the city gathering information, home to do the sums, then back to try our luck.
Found a likely spot on the river bank but were Muggled out by the fishermen.
Thanks Trig-A-Nomics for the hunt.

Found after a brisk walk along the Torrens, inspired by walking past two of the clues on my way to work! Very happy to claim the FTF and a very nice pathtag as an added bonus. Thanks for the cache Trigg-A-Nomics!
Will be interesting to see how the description formats on an Oregon! Nice layout though!
Thanks setsujoku, let me know how it looks!
I had imagined people would print it out to easily jot down the answers and do the sums. I could provide an excel spreadsheet but that might be a little too much engineering for some people in one day!
