Engineering a City #4: Central to South Adelaide4.0/2.0 Small Multi-cache Back in Adelaide after 14 years. Here for The Great Leap Forward Mega and catching up with awesome caching friends and revisiting Adelaide where we lived for 16 beautiful years! Had a wonderful time reminiscing and admiring wonderful changes in the State, meeting friendly cachers and helpful COs and finding quality caches, high D/Ts and old ones.Thank you for taking us here Trigg-A-Nomics MEng(GC) but we didn't find it. ??
FYI in response to the log from [Morteraj](https://coord.info/PR5NDMJ), who I believe should stop making assumptions about finals getting passed around; I know I visited the seven waypoints properly (and there was some acknowledgement that some indeed do tour around).During my late 2019 tour, I had trouble at one waypoint (and needed to check/confirm my calculations).**EAC401** | **W29 McHenry Street (site where first automobile was built)**You should be counting the LED panels in the display on the eastern wall. I checked my count with the CO, and I had miscounted by one, so unless the setup has changed, I'm not sure what the issue is?Happy to accept DM from [Morteraj](https://coord.info/PR5NDMJ) to clarify the issue?**EAC404** | **W37 Cast iron benchmark 9, near the statue of Charles Cameron Kingston**I concur with previous comments that during my visit in late 2019, I couldn't locate the necessary structure, so I tried to utilise Waymarking:[Adelaide Cast Iron Benchmark No.9 - Adelaide SA](https://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/wmKKRE_Adelaide_Cast_Iron_Benchmark_No9_Adelaide_SA).However, I don't believe that figure on the schematic is correct (that is likely to be a generic benchmark structure). To ensure continuation of this multi-cache, and from me working backwards, the correct figure to utilise is 153.86 ft (unless I have other errors that I needed to make this fit).P.s. I think an approved replacement cache from the CO is reasonable as a maintenance strategy, although happy to acknowledge people's preferences as desired.
After splitting up to gather the information we needed, we converged to share notes. One of the waypoints appears to be missing, but we managed to get some assistance from a previous finder and headed off to the final. After a painful search and a few more PAFs, we conceded. This one really needs to be checked by the CO to see if it's still viable.
We had done our best to collect the information required for this one, and our previous two visits to Adelaide.Despite a good search today, with a few sets of eyes, we had no luck. Thanks Domsky
I make these comments after receiving information from the CO on how to approach this one. I think I have the right coordinates now. The CO was very helpful, and no disrespect intended when making some constructive suggestions below. Having read the logs and been in touch with recent past finders, there appears to be a lot of handing over of the final coordinates. It appears few have worked this one out for themselves, which is a shame, as this multi is one of the more interesting ones in the city. Who would have thought cast iron benchmarks are so interesting! On the cache page, the question in W29 is asking the geocacher to count something specific and the answer doesn't line up to what is required. The cryptic answer needed would be putting a lot of geocachers out (which included me). Perhaps the CO could make this clearer. The cast iron benchmark #9 in Victoria Square is currently buried under 50cm of mulch, and ferns have been planted around it. It is currently not accessible unless you bring a shovel. Some google searching will take the geocacher to a very useful website on Adelaide's cast iron benchmarks. That website has the answer required. Perhaps the CO could consider directing future geocachers there on the cache page. I know I'm not the only one that has been very confused. This cache page has a few on the watch list. I will wait until the CO replaces the cache before claiming the find, which he confirms he will do. I don't like finding throw downs - and no disrespect to I_J either. Thanks, Morteraj
Today my muggle friend and I caught up with AussieGal, pineapplegoldy and irishalan (The Tim Tam Team) for an enjoyable walk in the park to grab a few caches.
Some caches I haven’t solved so I have added them to my ‘Found but have to solve’ list so I can work on them.

Clocking up cache finds for International Geocaching Day, whilst working toward other challenge goals and milestones!
Found with pineapplegoldy, Irishalan, Jolly0 and her muggle friend.
Unfortunately the cache is not waterproof and thus it's filled with water and log is destroyed.

Greetings from Ireland - this is a generic log for now until I return home / have WiFi - I want to log all finds now so I don't forget them.
FPs will be awarded at the time of this log (where applicable) so I don't forget them. Tftc!

It's the best day of the year and I'm spending it with irishalan, Jolly0 and her muggle friend, AussieGal88 and I&J in the CBD area to grab some high D/T combo's and whatever we come across throughout the day.
We were nearby this one and all swung by to see if we could find the new container.
After ringing the person who placed it we found it.
Log book was wet already unfortunately. To reduce the chance of ripping the paper we signed the log as "Team Tim Tam" instead of all our names.
Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics for this multi cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3416 on the 19th of August 2023.
**Happy International Geocaching Day!!**
CITO's are a brilliant way to help keep our community area's clean. The Earth is our playing field and we need to protect it!
Always be sure to cache the "leave no trace" way!

New temp cache container is in place, with cache owner's permission!
Ready for the next finder.
Ready for the next finder.
It took me over 10 years to get this smiley face.
More than 10 years ago, I started to visit the locations mention in this "Engineering a City" cache series. I got some, and missed some. Took me couple of years to get the digits required, but some of the caches in this series have gone archived already. Luckily, #2 and #4 survived.
After I found #2 about 2 years ago, this #4 is the last one left.
I tried this #4 multiple times, but still no success. I asked many previous finders, at many geocaching events, and got some useful hints. Although I have quite detailed descriptions of the cache and how it was hidden, I still cannot locate the cache.
When the reviewer temporarily disabled the listing, I was worried, and really cannot saw it gone. So I made few more attempts, but still no luck. I offered cache owner to place a temp cache container, and got cache owner's permission to do so. Now the temp cache container is in place. It's a small round plastic bottle, covered in grey duct tape.
Please be aware, the original cache may be still there somewhere, and you may find it if you are lucky enough. Due to the way it's been hidden, I cannot rule out the possibility that the original cache is still there. However, it's also possible that the original cache was missing, as there are many changes after the cache has been found last time.
Thanks for the multi cache, Trigg-A-Nomics MEng(GC).

Temp cache in place, the original hide was so much fun I will rebuild it shortly.
I just got cache owner's permission to place a temp container at final location. I will do so sometime this week, as soon as possible.
Checked this one again, but still failed to locate the cache.
Actually, I asked several previous finders of this cache, at geocaching events and over the phone, and received some specific hints. But still, I'm unable to find something matching the hint.
And the bushes have been trimmed again, which should make it easier to find the cache, if it's still there.
Could CO please check if the cache is still there? Alternatively, would CO like me to place a temporary cache replacement, with CO's permission? Just to avoid the fate for this cache to be achieved this month. I took me many years to complete those stages of this cache.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention.
I am temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.
Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.
For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date or the cache will be treated as an abandoned cache and archived without further notice.

This is a pretty tricky one which has required experienced geocachers to PaF in the past so the DNFs aren't surprising. I've upped the difficultly to 4 and will visit as soon as practicable.
I was going to do this multicache but saw all the DNFs. Can the CO do a check please.
Spent a long time at GZ to no avail. It this one isn’t at the pointy end where the prickle bush is and is to the east I think it would be too overgrown to locate now the bush is enormous. TFTH
I am chasing as many D/T spots as I can while borrowing unssy's pole for the month, I messaged I&J who met me for a little tree fishing.
This was nearby where we were and decided to try again as we'd both had DNF's here in the past.
Unfortunately that continued, with both sets of eyes unable to find anything.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 25. Blackwood SA trip Day 6. Today joined up a few chores and of course caching. First to North Adelaide for supplies and a few train caches. Next back into the city to try a few of those pesky caches that were too busy yesterday and while I am at it, head to the south east corner of the city try for a few more to make the day really long and worthwhile.
I had no problems with the multi part of this, but the very spiky plants at GZ meant I failed to perform a complete search, but I see plenty of other people have not found it recently.
Thanks.

The news last night indicated thunderstorms but we haven't had a drop of rain all day, so I took a slight detour before other commitments for some caches since its niceish weather.
At GZ I encountered a very spiky bush, lots of bees and spiders. Found somewhere matching the hint but is hard to get to.
Not sure how committed to be at this one.
Will place on the watchlist and see what happens.

Tried again today, and failed again.
New fence has been installed at GZ, compared to my last visit.
Will come back after someone found it.

Found at 17:08 with Olga and Luna. We visited the locations and collected the data so long ago, probably 2011, by bicycle. At the time, we had a look for the final, but gave up too quickly, thinking we may have had the coordinates wrong, plus there was someone sleeping there which made searching difficult.
We were given confimation a couple of years ago that we were in the right spot, so came back again, but still no luck. Then more recently I found the paper notes I had used on the bike ride, and remembered to put the corrected coordinates in, so when walking the dog this arvo, we found ourselves nearby.
This time, we phone a friend, whose guidance helped, though it was still not a quick find. In fact, I found a bag in the bushes with a mini toolkit in it. Some parts were a bit rusty, but I did claim the magnetic pickup tool. Then, a few minutes later, the cache appeared from the void. We quickly signed it and replaced before the wormhole closed.

After a pub lunch in the city today, e.gregory1 was in need to find this one. We searched high and low but nothing was coming out at us even after some help at the event.
We soon used a PAF and even then it wasn’t the easiest thing to find but it was a matter of luck spotting the rather decent sized hide.
Glad to finally have this one off the map.

After the lunch event today, gridge98 and I decided to go and have a look for this one. We had both been here independently before without any luck, but this time we returned armed with some additional information to help us. But even then it took a PAF while we were there to finally pin down this elusive cache.
Given the nature of the cammo, it should have been a bit easier than it was. However, I think the shrubbery may have grown a bit thicker since it was first placed.
Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics MEng(GC) for an interesting and quite informative multi, and what turned out to be quite a tricky hide.

I had visited these various waypoints over a lunch run, and enjoyed seeing the history around the city. I attempted to find the necessary information at the Victoria Square waypoint, W37, but since it had been buried, and some digging around, I couldn't locate the necessary structure, so I thought I found that information from the internet (waymarking).
Within the week, there was some more information that I needed to collect that was just down the road from me on Gilles Street, and once finalised, I made my way to GZ (or so I thought). Some scurrying around, nothing seemed to reveal itself, so I checked my numbers with a friend, and turns out my plausible set of coordinates were indeed incorrect. I suspect it's Victoria Square's W37, so with the assistance, I had new coordinates for GZ.
A few weeks later, I visited GZ, when I had the DNF. Even with a PAF at the time, I still couldn't find it! I suspected it was missing since it hadn't been found for a while. My PAF told me it was hard to find and annoying, so I ended up teeing up a date/time to search once again, which was today.
We met at GZ, and I told him where I was searching last time. He told me another area to search, but that was dense, and thought my strategy from trying to find it from behind was better. Well, I soon learned to listen to experience, and he had it found within five minutes. Wow, that seemed to not be the most logical area for a hide, but it has survived since placement in 2010, so maybe it wasn't too bad. With the difficult location came 956 days [2.62 years] of unfound love! Wowza. Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics MEng(GC) - that was the second and last available *Engineering a City* multi-cache available to me at this time. It was a shame that I couldn't complete the others in the series before they got archived. The Victoria Square waypoint probably needs a refresh, but otherwise, the rest of the questions/waypoints were great, cheers!

Managed to collect all these numbers in early 2019, and thought I would take the opportunity to come past today to find this. Had a pretty decent search, and even video chatted with a previous finder, who remarked the area had changed a bit since he found it. Alas, I could not find, and so a DNF for me. Will watch this one with interest, cheers.

What an awesome hide . Found on a fun night with the locals
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to Trigg-A-Nomics for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Engineering a City #4: Central to South Adelaide today. This is my find #6522 and find #10 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again Trigg-A-Nomics for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

Took a while...but got it in the end. Learnt some fascinating facts about different engineering feats. TFTC
Finally got this one with the Brood General and Kronklee after lots of leg-work over about 4 lunch-hours, but really enjoyed the lunchtime hunts and finding out the interesting facts about Adelaide, and the satisfaction of getting the cache in the end.
Particularly enjoyed learning about W36 - what an amazing feat!
As others have mentioned (and we found out as well) the numbers on W29 needed a bit of juggling, and we also had difficulty getting W37 due to copious amounts of mulch, however some Googling soon had the answer.
After getting the coords, we searched GZ for the goodies but came away empty handed. Went back for a better look today and found the cache. Log book signed.
Worth a fav point for the interesting facts and the adventure in getting this one - thanks Trigg-A-Nomics!

Great cache, enjoyed finding this one with weredunn4 and Brood General, lunch time cache finds are always fun and we learnt heaps along the way too, like counting and how to use x-ray vision through mulch.. 2nd time out to the final spot and we were triumplant. Thanks for the cache and the hard work put in.
After an event a few intrepid explorers decided to find a few more caches. This was first on the list. TFTC 14/08/2016 4:17 pm Find #1518
Stopped by this one this afternoon after previously doing the hard work. I'd searched unsuccessfully before, but today the container was located quite easily. TFTC. 14/08/2016, 4:15 PM Find #2565
Headed out this afternoon after today's event with a puzzle guru & a couple of others to locate the cache...after some "diving" the cache was located...Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics
after going to the Decachelon event a group of adventures went exploring and after a bit of diving we found something on the end of a chain.
One of these little yellow symbols is quite close to our home and appears on screen quite regularly. So we thought it was time to bite the bullet and learn about Engineering a city.
Both Brad's father and son are engineers and he could have so easily chosen that career path as well.
It seemed reasonable to get the information for all four of the multis at the same time so a path was chosen and a couple of days were spent wandering around places that I thought I knew to gather information.
I lost track of the number of times I thought I didn't know that!
Eventually I got 4 sets of coordinates and headed out to find some caches.
This was the second located and took about 10 minutes to spot. It appeared to be about 5 mtrs to the east of where the GPSr wanted. At least it was away from the spiky plant!
Data gathered for number 5.

Eventually I got 4 sets of coordinates and headed out to find some caches.
This was the second located and took about 10 minutes to spot. It appeared to be about 5 mtrs to the east of where the GPSr wanted. At least it was away from the spiky plant!
Data gathered for number 5.

This one has been a slow process. I work in the city and have gradually (when I remembered) got info from the various waypoints.
I got to GZ today in my lunch break and found a few 'cachy' looking spots but could not locate the gold. Ill try again another day with fresh eyes.

Not today. We had a fantastic 6 hour cache hunt in the city, and although we solved each waypoint (number one seems to be incorrect from what we could gather) and gained a tonne of sunburn, we didnt make our way to the final waypoint today. Will surely be picking this one up next time.
A little hint...dont give up on waypoint 4. Its definitely there :p
This was, by the way, one of the most interesting and educational caches i have ever witnessed. Loved every second of it, and cant wait to try the rest in the series

Another couple of expeditions between work and sports and a new set of coordinates....
Like many before me, I focused on one particular area and even found two chains. But they both had closed locks attached to them. I wasn't really prepared 'to get down and dirty' so I opted for a PAF and found out I did indeed had to do just that.
Another set of clues were recorded and we are now only one step away from getting to the final.
Hopefully the final cache will be replaced soon...... (hint to CO)

Veni. Vidi. Vici. Scripsi. Started the EAC series after Christmas and spent many lunchtimes wandering around the city collecting the required data. Some really interesting information here but had some difficulty with one of the waypoints due to the tour down under bit with a little googling managed to get the required information which matched the checksum. Phew. Finally had all the data and have been performing the required calculus to get a GZ. Now it was time to make the find. Called in and found many chains but all the wrong ones. Pulling them did nothing. Ok. Kept looking. But in the end had to PAF to make sure I was in the right area. I was close but forgot the 10M east rule that was explained in another cache and suddenly spotted the well engineered cache. Signed log and replaced. Gathered the clue for final. 3 down. 1 to go. Gratis pro cache.
An epic and educational multi that has taken a while.
Quite a hunt at the end of it all, came up trumps with a cleverly planted cache.
Thankfully no muggle activity while searching, some previous logs were reassuring.

We're glad to finally log a find against this cache. We've had three unsuccessful searches over the previous two years, but today we wondered just how we'd missed it! Not that we realised straight away that we'd found the cache. Mrs J mentioned there was a certain something in there, but it wasn't til I had a look that I saw the geocaching label stuck to the side. We still have to log a find on one more of the four multi's before attempting the final puzzle cache.
Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics.

These caches have had me walking all over the city! Three walks in and I've collected all the info for #2,3,4 and some of #1 too. I had a little trouble collecting the waypoints for this one (particularly W29 and W37) but some creativity and careful guesswork and the checksum checked out and a likely looking location came out. I worked out the numbers over dinner nearby and walked over for what turned out to be quite a slow find. I ended up having to phone a friend to make the find. I think my favourite waypont for this cache was W36 - wow, what a story! A great cache, thank you - definitely worth a favourite point!

After seeing that SA Sewer Rats found this after my failed attempt, I thought I'd go back and have another look. Again I looked for sometime and came up with nothing. I phoned a previous finder and was given a more specific hint and managed to find it (just) in the fading light.
Great series - three down, two to go.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Trigg-A-Nomics.

Tftc very clever. Really enjoyed the engineering behind this cache. Needs some oiling though lol.
Mr Tardis is really enjoying the waypoints in this series.
I searched and searched and called a previous finder and still couldn't find it

I managed to visit all the waypoints for this one, but found myself coming a little unstuck at a few. My count (which I repeated four times to be sure) of the RI display yielded a number that was definitely not prime (I guess I can reverse engineer this one as there are only four possible values), and the Victoria Square benchmark proved difficult. I probably could have dug but there were a few muggles giving me strange looks already so I didn't tempt fate. Will return.
Found it with the company of Locus cache and Dennis C52, great container !!

Found on a cache hunt with locus cache and Andy Colombia. Andy found it, and I could not find the log. But while I was holding the container, Andy gave it a tug, and "whalla", there she be. Nice hide. TFTC.

Well Vic Square is looking pretty schmick and even Kingston approves! His engineering heritage did not fare as well though as the benchmark was filled in and covered with bark chips, probably by a local stobie-pole removal team. There is more than one person in Adelaide with an eye for Engineering heritage though and when I arrived at EAC404 I discovered the bark chips had been cleaned away and the very tip of the benchmark was now visible.
Aha! An engineering challenge! Or perhaps just an archaeological one. Some careful cleaning revealed the needed numbers and Kingston's benchmark was back in action.
No-one ever seems to notice me doing odd things around the city. Perhaps odd has become the new normal.

I strongly recommend you only do this cache if you have prepared beforehand.... Tried with phone and GPS.... fail
Today was much better, even let those who are numerically challenged do the maths....
Thanks for a great adventure.

Thanks for a great adventure.
A few weekends ago, brisal5, mogni and Aussie M & M tried to do this cache without a booklet and the printout of questions....Hmmm, a GPS and a smart phone just doesn't do it... We collected a few answers, went to some incorrect waypoints and learnt about all sorts of cool stuff. This weekend, mogni had a fantasy that she would get 8 multi's done in the city on Sunday with the same friends. We left for home just after 4pm with almost 4 solved....lol.
Today, armed with the booklets, organised with the correct waypoints, we still had some maths issues, and had a nearby sports muggle interested in our treasure hunt. We were having trouble, went back to the car, rechecked the math, found the error, headed back and mogni made the find. A few weekends, some laughs, a few lost cachers, buildings hiding behind scaffolding etc, but woohoo, we found it.
This is a great cache and we managed to do another today... on a roll. TFTC and another favourite from us.

mogni was in town yet again for some work. That meant only one thing....caching time. Team BAM (Brisal5, AussieM&M and Mogni) decided it was time for a Adelaide Multicache day
We had started this one a few weeks ago whilst waiting to attend an event for two lost Englishmen. This time we came prepared with Maps, brochures and printed cache descriptions. Despite covering all the 5 Ps we still managed to get the maths wrong. We did discover a great hide just 10 metres from GZ before reworking the maths and finding the cache. Swapped TBs. Thanks Trigg-A-Nomics. Learnt heaps and had a ball.

Very glad it wasn't located where our GPS lead us, otherwise it would have been a prickly search! A clever and enjoyable cache =)
We were in the city with other teams to tackle some different cache types and we had others around this area to find as well.TFTC
Found while out caching with Coruze, Troobloo, Skullracing, Three Field Mice, The lost Wanderers and BulletProof4. It was great to get into the city while we were at the mega (being ex Adelaidians!) and even nicer to do a few different caches! TFTC Trigg-A-nomics
A few teams from our area (NSW, VIC & QLD) were in SA for the Oz Mega 2014 festivities.
We noticed a cache challenge where we had to find 8 different cache types in one day, so it was decided that we would spend the day in Adelaide.
We didn't get many caches done but we got what we aimed for
We chose this cache to do as our mutli
We all enjoyed the walk to get all the information needed and calculated the necessary info to get to GZ.
We appreciate the time and effort you have gone into this one and if we had the time we would have completed them all.
GZ was a good spot too as we all had heads down and bums up We took a couple of photos because we used this spot for a funny photo to enter into a Mega competition. We did not jeopardize the GZ in any way either, just for your info [;P]

The cache was finally found during the Mega. The legwork was done when we lived in SA but never did find it. It took the crafty eyes of another cacher before the goods where finally in hand! The cache bought memories back from when I was a member of engineering Australia.
#5553 We were out and about with friends today endeavouring to nab 8 different cache icons in one day.....this was number #5. With all the background work completed before our arrival it was a case of all hands on deck at GZ. Quite funny to see so many backsides hanging out of the shrubbery that it warranted a photo opportunity . The very well camo'd container was eventually uncovered but not before it was nearly discounted......the sign of a very clever hide for this environ and so a favourite from us. Our thanks to Trigg-A-Nomics for having a hand in assisting us in our goal today & to our caching partners in crime for the laugh-a-lot caching excursion . Cheers [^]
A good day for caching with 2 out of 3 nemesis caches removed from Owl’s list before rain stopped play. This one is so much easier at this time of year when concealing vegetation is thinner. She even remembered to collect the clue this time! Clever hide, visits to places of historical interest – of course you’re getting a favourite point!
We tried again to find this cache today, but still came up empty handed. We looked at a few locations that were approximately 15 metres from our calculated waypoint, but couldn't find the cache. With no PAF option, we once again abandoned the search.
Finally
And thanks to an update to the page layout, I'm dutifully informed that I first DNF'ed this back in November 2011
I enjoyed the travel through the city exploring the engineering history, although I'm not sure I enjoyed losing pints of blood looking for the cache.
Today, with the rain, and it being a weekday, I had no muggles to contend with, albeit a brief interruption when an older lady rounded the corner whilst walking her dogs. Hopefully I didn't alarm her, as she probably wasn't expecting to run into anyone where I was.
After getting caught on a sharp point again today (but thankfully not breaking skin) I decided to PAF, to learn I was only a couple of metres out, but that I should be looking in the kinder smooth shrub - and with that I finally spotted the chain and shortly afterwards had a cache in hand
Heading back to the car, I spotted that I probably had three watchers, watching me - but since there were a unicorn, teddybear and gorilla, I don't think they'll be sharing the cache location

Cheers

Out with 3LG for a Monday night cache run on my 50th birthday.
A cold but dry night during which we ended up with 14 locus cache smileys
So I didn't find 50 caches today but we did have lots of fun!
I hate to think how long we spent here!
However after searching and searching and walking and looking and searching, we had engineered our own trails!
Finally gave up and PAF and within seconds, the cache was in hand
At least we didn't pull the chain of despair of a DNF
Very clever hide in one spot that we obviously didn't search well enough initially

Cachenapped locus cache to do some birthday caching... It's her 50th We started the evening with a meal at KFC, left there in a mad dash to get to a first to find before venturing across town... And here we are!
Wow, this one took some time in the dark it was tough as it was such a sneaky hide, blends well. Needed the phone a friend option at this location.

Well I'm glad we found this one not in the spiky hedge or in the homeless person's camp. But the coordinates are a long way off. Clever hide though. TFTC
Returned to GZ with renewed hope and a little bit more information and the cache was in hand within a minute! Co-ords ended up being about 15m out in the end.
Clever hide, and it certainly blends in with its surrounds.

Returned to the final location with the hope of a find, despite the last DNF. We too found the chain matching the hint, but still didn't come up with the cache.
Actual co-ords had us about 10m away though, so we are none the wiser as to if we were even heading in the right direction until we found the chain.

I enjoyed finding the required info on a few separate occasions during the week. Certainly learnt a few new things! Headed to the calculated coords both before and after work today - found the previously mentioned spiky bush, and a chain, but no cache. Perhaps I just wasn't looking hard enough! Thanks anyway for the adventure.
Thanks to the cache owner, we finally had the remaing number to find this cache. However, it wasn't to be for us today.
Found and object that fitted the hint, in amongst the spiky bush from hell. [B)] Then a man came shuffling over very near to us and started rummaging through his shopping trolley, so we decided to call quits, for now.

A rising tide has covered EAC404/W37 for the moment. Kingston is not amused, but has helpfully supplied an answer.
We finished collecting all clues for this cache today, except for the waypoint that is out of bounds.
The visit to W29 in McHenry street went a bit pear shaped, as no matter how many times we recounted the LED panels, we came up with a non-prime number!

For ages we have said that we would spend a day doing this series. Normally anyone would chose a nice spring day to plod around the city. Not us, we chose the second wettest day of the year...
Found the first few points without any issues, but then hit Victoria Square.Obviously the last few finders haven't quite followed the multi through...
With no way of getting the answer, and the cache still being online despite the lack of ability to complete all of the steps, we had to abandon hope of getting a find, but none the less completed the other steps and gathered the remaining information.
From the comfort of home we have managed to find the information required, from 1988, and so can complete this now, but it is still getting logged as a DNF for now.

Made the drop and run with the kids today. I'm glad there weren't any muggles around as they were declaring to all and sundry "WE'RE GOING TO HIDE A CACHE!!"
Recreated the camo, but this time with some extra signage. Hopefully it deters future muggles. My volume calculations were initially out but I managed to re-engineer a solution at the last minute. I must make a note of that in my Design Folder for this cache!
Apologies for this one - I was hoping to check if the container had migrated over the fence like last time but I haven't been able to find a stick-wielding-muggle-free time to investigate. I think I spotted the camo over the fence but not the container so it's back to the shed for this one. ETA: about three weeks.
