No luck for me today - looked around GZ for the final, turning over lots of rocks, but couldnt find a cache. Plenty of long green grass up here now.
Jeez that was hard to find.

After some Uni in the city decided to detour past a few cache in a roundabout way on the way home.
I came and did this cache with Davidwazza on the 24/6/2018 but unfortunately once we got to the cache we were unable to find it. Back today and after 2-3mins of searching the cache was found. The log book is very wet but managed to stamp it.

Few issues at starting point so Pafd a previous finder after reading there logs, spotted a few fire tacks as we walked up the hill. Cache was found fairly quickly while admiring the views

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Anymules needed a Multi today for his Calendar. [^] I needed to find two night caches on Mont Osmond because they were there and I hadn't found them. So we went for a long trek on Mount Osmond and did all four up there!
We parked at the designated parking spot. Crikey there was a direct path to the start but it was way to slippery so tripling the distance up the zigzag path we went. Arriving near the start the GPS wanted us up the bank and in the middle of the olive tree. So up we slipped and scrambled but couldn't find a start. A few exploreritory walks still gave us nothing. PAFed and discovered we should have stayed on the fire track. Back down to the fire track we slipped. Scanning around. Nothing.
Oh well may as well follow the track. Finally we saw a tack. Stopped there and scanned ahead. Nothing again. [:(!] On we walked and then saw another. It appears the trees and bushes before each tack have grown out hiding them until you are almost on them. With this knowledge we just continued on hoping to find tacks as we went which we did. [^][^]
Finally came to a tree with three tacks all on different branches. Spent too long here thinking we would find a tag. Scanning around after not finding the tag I spied two more tacks off track. Those three were just pointing the way off track. DOH.
Arriving at the two I found a third tack on the ground and put it up with the two. Now there were three and a tag with coordinates. A short push through some thorny olives (the story of the night) and onto the very exposed ridge with not many traditional hiding spots. The cache was eventually found after a long search and more hints via the PAF hotlines.
very difficult but fun on a cold winters nigth with no much drizzle. FP from me
***Thanks Frozen Feet for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Start coordinates put me up off the track in the middle of an olive bush. That wasn’t a good start.
Then spent some time searching around for little shiny dots around the hillside before giving up on that idea and returning to the path.
A quick PAF had us continuing up the path where we finally managed to spot some shiny things (the olive bushes have really overgrown and you can’t see one set of racks from the previous set.
Further along and further along. Just trusting we were on the right path(a). Occasionally we caught glimpses of tacks. Other places were just braving we were in the right spot.
Eventually we found three dots and spent a long time searching but couldn’t see anything. But then we spotted another three.
From there we found the tag and headed to GZ.
At GZ we spent a long time searching around and around. Again we resorted to a PAF and they explained the location of where we should look. Wow. That was really well hidden. Would never have thought to look there.
Thanks for the cache Frozen Feet.

Find #11314.
Daylight savings had kicked in last weekend, and so I was quite keen in going for more adventures a little farther afield from home. With a nice temperature evening, I checked today's calendar to see a need for an unknown and multi-cache. This cache seemed to fit the bill, after previously completing a nearby puzzle find.
I attempted this one 1.5 years ago at night with a group of others, but was the final night cache of the evening when the wind had seriously picked up, and it felt like there were not a lot of possible hiding spots to this one. So we logged a DNF and left the cache for another day. Since that time, I got a little more information to what we should have been looking for, and so I returned solo to make the jog up the hill. It still took another 5-10 min looking for this hiding spot, as I was slightly looking for something else. However the cache was within 8 m of my GZ, and once it was found, a nice redback spider made an appearance. I avoided that geocaching guardian to sign the log, and place back.
It was finally good to have converted this one to a smilie, and a night multi-cache that seemed to have all the markers and information present at the time of us completing it. Awesome views from this location, and looks like I am one of many returnees in the daylight to find this cache, judging from its history. Thanks Frozen Feet for this cache placement and maintenance!

Eighteen months ago we began this journey. Climbed up the hill. Got to GZ and searched but ho no avail. Twice.
And we put it on watch.
And saw some more DNFs
We chatted to another of the DNFers.
And eventually the CO posted a check which confirmed it was still there albeit well hidden.
Today was the day to revisit GZ.
An excellent parking spot was found and jn retrospect with the LC200 I could have driven all the way to GZ today.
But then the search began. GPSr and iPhone agreed on the zero spot which we marked. And so we spread our search. Downhill looked the most promising although it was ultimately unrewarding.
Eventually after about 45 minutes I made contact with the CO who suggested uphill might be a better choice.
And so it proved to be.
The prize was finally located after close to an hour’s search with the GPSr indicating 26 metres from our final coords.
Maybe it was a bad satellite day?
Anyway we added our name to the slightly damp logbook.
2 years 6 months and 1 day since the last find.

Final checked and still in place - but time had rendered the hide very subtle! Should be a little more obvious now, and final was reading 1-2m from coordinates on GPSr. A few extra firetacks added along the trail.
So returned as our final night cache of the night, and if successful, final night cache on this hill! With the group and whilst staying on the path, we actually did find the first tack to follow. And sure enough, the fire tacks along this path were in somewhat good shape... with enough confidence for us to follow. We continued along, saw some trees with three tacks close together, followed that in to find the penultimate waypoint with tag (showing the final cache coordinates?). Nearby, we also found a container that was broken in the bottom and was empty, so we think that was the backup container for the final cache coordinates.
We followed those coordinates to find ourselves in the open, but with limited finding opportunities, we just could not find the final cache. We tried using all the clues to piece it all together, but alas nothing. By this stage the wind was cold as this was an area quite exposed.
We did have some information from the CO that seemed quite different to the coordinates we had found on our adventure. We did try walking the 100 m away, but there wasn’t any rocks around there and was completely bare on anything that may help us with a cache hide, so we returned to the tagged coordinates. Again another 5 min look before the wind got the better of us and called it a day. Maybe returning to this one in the day may be better for us, cheers.

Came whilst finding the reservoir frogs cache. Hadn’t planned to do this, but it was night and I passed by it. However could not find any tacks in any direction, even as I was walking along the hill, so may need some further guidance for this one.
P.s. yes slippery paths, as I found out on the way down!

Don't try to find a night cache on a steep hill during the day when a downpour is scheduled.
Found some firetacks....
but not enough.
Defeated.

Came back today, after being reassured that it is mostly likely there and we just didn't look hard enough!
And what do ya know? A cache was found in the daylight! (is that cheating?)
Another nice little work out, as I couldn't work anywhere to park any closer! Hahaha

Alas we think GZ has been muggled!
Following the track that makes the zigzag a straight line wasn't so hard going up, but easier to follow the zigzags coming down.
There is a big gap between tacks, but managed to find the well lit up penultimate point with the final gz coords.
Arriving at GZ it appears to be a collection point, as there were many discarded bottles and cans. Searched high and low to no avail, in an ever increasing search area.
Eventually left the magnificent view emptied-handed!
Cito'd as much as we could carry back down the slippery slope.

The first night cache for the night with me mate from Team Nibbler. Thoroughly enjoyed them all. This one in particular had very spectacular views over the city with lightning in the distance. A few bands of rain passed over us while searching for this one but the night was surprisingly warm. No deer seen. Thanks for a great cache Frozen Feet!
Tag and container replaced with fresh coordinate labels. Final cache also replaced as original was smashed to smithereens!
We followed the fire track to near the initial coordinates and had no trouble finding the reflectors along the path. We made it to the triplet of reflectors also without any trouble, and from there we were able to locate the next reflector. Lucky for us we were able to find the tag AND the container. Unlucky for us the tag had no coordinates and the container was broken and empty. Ever the optimists we attempted to find GZ using one of the photos. We suspect we were nearby but alas couldn't find the cache.
Thanks for the magnificent view.

After looking at the caches in this area for sometime, mainly the night caches, I met up with Beck-therackoon, Alex-thesquirel, Ride the Geo Walrus and jambo chicken for tea. After a bite to eat we headed of and this was second on the list. After a decent walk up the hill we had a decent looking set of coords and after a short walk the cache was in hand.

Found just after dusk with my puzzle solving crew, who were intent on grabbing some of the night caches around this area while the bang stick operators are on hiatus, thanks to the public holiday and school holidays.
This was the first true 'night cache' we went after tonight, and it was not a good start. Munja and I both missed the tell tale multiple reflectors, and then I somehow missed the tag backup. If I had known I would have brought one of my permanent markers to relabel the tag, but I was without. Fortunately we had some previous finders who pushed us in the right direction on both accounts. They made up for their good fortune by deliberately sending us on a wild (and very prickly) goose chase before suggesting that the coordinates were more accurate than they had led us to believe.
That being said we did eventually make the find, and then stopped to admire the amazing views. TFTC Frozen Feet!

Have you seen any reflectors... no, have you....
Do you think we are on the right track... no, do you...
Should we back.. maybe..
Agree to retrace our steps. Reflector found aswell as coordinates (thank goodness) and soon cache was in hand.
Took cow. Left pig.
Thanks for the opportunity to see our beautiful city in a different light.

Having a look at the map on the 13th October, we see that we have not logged this cache. We have thought and thought and checked other caches and this is the date that we think we may have done the cache.
We enjoyed the uphill walk to this one, we remember the path being a wee bit slippery, but the fact that hubby had a fall and I did not meant that one member of the team was being more careful than the other, or that that person did not slip was luckier. LOL. We remember that we could not find the tag but we did find the secondary container and that the container was dry and the co-ords were OK. We then headed to the cache location where on the way we needed to avoid two downhill cyclists. From there we headed to the cache which, at first, had us bamboozled as we thought that there was nowhere to hide a cache in the location of GZ. But our eyes told us what to do and the cache was found. The views from up here are tops. We love doing the caches in the Adelaide hills at night, I don't feel that I have seen a prettier city at night anywhere else.

After struggling to read the co-ords at wp1i knew we were in for an adventure. At the final co-ords we had to expand our search radius. Like Ben said the cache has been crushed and is no longer watertight. Took TB. TFTC
I think this cache will be most memorable for me because of the amount of zigging and zagging involved. The path was slippery and we had to tread quite carefully, but the caches GZ was spectacular! We spent a fair while a bit further uphill until checking out previous logs for some further clues.

Found It!
Finally got around to making the walk to this night cache. I found most of the tacks without much trouble but I then found the penultimate waypoint out in the open a few meters from where the hint suggested it should be. It was also full of water and the clue was rather faded. After reading it and taking a guess at a couple of the numbers I put it back when the hint indicated. Then on to GZ and what a fantastic view! Couldn't stand around and admire it though as there was quite a wind blowing and it was freezing cold! After quite a bit of wandering around I found the cache but it wasn't in very good shape. The hiding spot has collapsed and the cache has been somewhat squashed. I pulled it out, emptied out the dirt, signed the log book, dug most of the dirt out of the hiding spot and put the cache back. The lid on the cache is not much good though and the whole thing could really do with a replacement.

Disabled due to report that cachers have encountered deer hunters in the area at night. Will unfortunately have to archive all night caches in this area unless another solution can be sought.
After scoring some accommodation in Mount Barker for the evening Cats&Dragons and I headed down to Adelaide to hit up this cluster of night caches. We weren't disappointed! Fantastic views of the city night lights and each cache provided plenty of variety. A great evening's caching. Thanks!
Having just arrived in Adelaide for the OZ MEGA 2014 Slieschke met me at the airport and was showing me some of the sights around and this was early in the journey and our first night caching in Adelaide.
What a great introduction to the night and the sights of Adelaide, really enjoyed this and the variety of night caches in the area.
Thanks for the placement and going to the trouble of putting this together

What else would you do during earth hour, with the lights off at home, but go out and do your first night cache. Thanks team Wibble - a fun experience, with quite a steep hill but a rewarding view of the city lights.
**late log** You know how when you clean out the garage or are packing to shift houses you find something you didn't realise you had been missing and you think "that's where that has been"? Yeah well that happens to me when I clean out hard drives after finalisation of my Australian citizenship. I do remember the caching trips, though, and in this case it was a weekend of caching after receiving a phone call from Moneydork asking what we have planned. When I say nothing, he says "yes you do" and the weekend is spent caching. Your cache was one in the area we chose to cache. What a view, thanks for the experience, Frozen Feet.
This was a great cache to start off our evening.
We enjoyed the stroll up to the cache. it was good to see a few lizards out at nght on our way up.

Having just completed a 15km run through Cleland, half of it in the dark; I was already well acquainted with the night. It seemed appropriate to make the uphill trek following those little firetacks to the cache.
Grabbed the cache, turned around and BAM; firetacks everywhere. It seems the whole city is lit up with them. Great spot take in the city lights but getting my shoes off and a shower were much more pressing issues rigtht now. TFTC Wibbles.

Turns out the cache was not muggled, it is still safe and sound and in one piece at GZ.
Trudged up the hill (swear it wasn't that steep when we first put the cache out!) to GZ to find.... the cache completely safe and sound and still in it's hiding "vessel" - pic of it on top of it's hiding spot is attached. We did find some plastic shards about 10m away, but this is definitely not related to the cache in any way.
Didn't have any issues with the fire tacks, but we added a few more to make the trail a little more visible.

Went to find this one after venturing up to the Fairy Princess with D1SC0V3RY and Foxbane.
Oh my what a hill!
We did adapt one of the reflectors to take ensure it would be better visible through the overgrowth that now seemed to be overtaking the path.
The container at the end appears to have been muggled - we found shards of plastic around 10m from the final location that appear to be from the original.
The view was beautiful. Thanks Team Wibble.

A few of the markers are getting swamped by the overgrowth - we moved one that had very little chance of being seen again but left the rest in place.
The container at the end has been muggled.

Dammit! We'll check on this in the next few days, and add some extra reflectors too.
A long trudge up a hill with Schnail, D1sc0v3ry and a baby, but definatley worth it. There were firetacks to follow and when they couldnt be found the path guided.
In the end found the tagged tree with the final GZ coords, but at the final GZ couldnt find a cache even with the clue. Searched around a bit and found the remains of a smashed container. Even if the logbook was somewhere it had no doubt blown away in the strong winds.
So I would like to claim this one as found is I believe I found the container just there was no log.
The view sure was nice, even if the wind was chilly.

A great spring hike. guarded by some enthusiastic beasts at the zig zag. Just kept going when we couldn't see the next marker and found our way at the next corner.
Left cow, too angry birds pen
thanks for the view.

Having visited Princesses we decided to take another walk, and found we were greeted by the hounds of darkness on the footpath from hell
Forgot to count the zigs and the zags, but there were lots of them. Up, up, up we went and after a day toiling out in the sun at a fete it was a hard workout for the legs (although the kids just bounded up the hill).
Found a few firetacks, but some were a little hard to spot (possibly due to new growth), but as our friends said, we kept on going and found a tree with 3 tacks on. Alas no tag, but then Bek spotted another tree with three tacks on, and a readily visible tag
Kept on walking, and after a few minutes of looking around GZ I finally spotted the cache, but we got the kids to retrieve it.
Carried the tripod up, so we stayed for some time relaxing, enjoying the breeze, enjoying the view and taking a few photos. Just wished we'd brought Port and Cheese up too.
The walk down was a lot easier, and if we'd checked the maps out before hand we probably would've taken the bitumen path down, and then wound our way back around the streets to our cars.
Kids did some swaps.

Cheers

Absolutely brilliant, it was a cool night but the trek uphill warmed us up... we took the zig zag track instead of the straight up path. The path at points was a little over grown but easy to follow and quite safe..
Once we arrived at the top WOW!! what a view, this has to be the best view of Adelaide that I have seen, how did I not know about this place. Will defiantly come back here as I am a keen photographer sure be some nice sunset shots up here..
Thanks for the cache and the adventure Team Wibble

Introduced Sxp to night caching with Task Master Jr. Great views from GZ. Walk had us out of breath but worth the climb. Took Path Tag left an Anzac Badge.
Found with Taskmaster and TMJ. My first night cache, easy stroll coz I'm so fit . TFTC.
Found while doing some night caches with Task Master and SXP, awesome walk and an amazing view! TFTC, TMJ
The penultimate waypoint is now an aluminium tag with the coordinates for the final cache. The final hide has been made a little more secure.
I loved it! We live in such a beautiful city. After spending the evening in a nearby house with a great view I thought I'd go and get an even better one. The night was crisp and clear at the min-min lights led me up a garden path to become well acquainted with the night.
Thanks Wibbles!

Not sure if I started out the intended way, but after a steep slippery scramble I came across, with much relief, to a beacon of glow-worms along a nice walkable track. Followed it upwards and upwards. Very surprised to see a couple about 40 m from the cache enjoying the balmy evening over the magnificent panorama. (They must have been surprised as anyone to see someone puffing and panting up the hill by torchlight!). Found the cache had been muggled with contents scattedered everywhere and the log book missing, so I put everything back together, signed a loose sheet of paper and replaced the cache under the stone. (No doubt the couple will investigate what I was doing after I've left, but I figured the cache was muggled anyway, and they'd more than likely leave ir where it is). Thanks for a great adventure and panoramic view Wibbles!
ohhh the things we do for a cache.. after a long day recovering from a diabetic turn for the worse.. i thought what better thing to do than hike in the middle of the night to find a piece of tupperware... ohhh what a hike.. up, up, up puff puff.. grumble grumble.. ahhhhh cache!. relief.. down down .. trip, stumble.. puff puff.. grumble grumble.. ahhhhh car...

Part of the team that tackled this one during the week. Really an enjoyable walk, and the views were amazing. This was good fun, thanks.
Mr Tardis of The Tardis Trio was the brains behind tackling this night cache. I cant remember all that there but it still made for a fun cache. And what a view.

Well a band of desperadoes met at the bottom of the hill as the sun was going down below the horizon.
A SneakySqueaky, Sneakier Squeaky, Hagrid, NcNote21, Scoobster and Tardis trekked up the hill. Half way up the comments started: "Who's idea was this again?!"
We followed the dots using the plethora of torches shining the way like something out of Close Encounters of the Third kind. We found the waypoint no problems, then proceeded to GZ and stayed a while to admire the views. (Thank goodness for the light breeze as the aroma of man sweat was getting a bit too much ).
A great location for an evening walk. SL. Thanks for the cache Wibbles.

What a great way to start the new caching year [^]
Great vies fron GZ in the heat, could have been even better I suspect if I did the climb last night!!!
Found the cache just lying out in the open, nowhere near a clue. Placed it in a nearby spot (safer from slashers ) and put a clue on it.
Cheers & Thanks for the fun hunt wibbles

I attempted this last week but had not downloaded the file to the handheld, relying on memory to get me places. I was acquainted with the zigzags, and many buckthorn trees, but no cache. Much more fun this week, with actual waypoints and descriptions.
I felt a bit like Hagrid with a pink umbrella in my hand as it was all I had to ward off the impending rain. I followed the same track as last time and counted 20 zigs and zags. It seemed much shorter this time too.
My torch highlighted the firepins perfectly, and with an accurate reproduction of the description everything was found exactly where it was supposed to be. The view was all the more impressive for the impending storm clouds glowing orange reflecting the city lights. I took some photos but they were a bit blurry.
After acquainting myself with the top of the hill, I went back down again and got acquainted with the car heater.
Thanks Wibbles, this was a good adventure (times two). Took the TB to get more acquainted with the world.

Brucie was up for the challenge when he was invited to participate in finding this cache. Lots of fun had by all as they recounted their adventure to me over a cup of tea back at the caravan. Thanks team Wibble
Found at 20:34 with Shonky, Bruce and Wandy.
Bruce and I decided upon the more direct route from the car to the start, which led had us to a few dead ends, but we got there, and quite a bit ahead of the two zig-zaggers. The walk was shorter and easier than expected, but the view was spectacular.

Took my HK sis-in-law Wandy out caching with Bruce and Team-Unicycle, so had to find a good one. This was the chosen cache and it lived up to expectations! Thanks for the adventure and the Views...
Another fantastic Wibble night cache. We really enjoyed the walk and the views were amazing. Thank you for taking us on a lovely adventure.

Gee, the frog nation was quick off the mark, I was beaten by 40 minutes. At least the frog nation didn't take the view of Eldorado with them when they left.
While ambulating around the hillside I had the magical experince of seeing a rare Winter Dragon in the wild. Fortunately this one was a friendly dragon.
Thanks Wibbles for the exprience, I can now say that I'm at one with the night, and dragons. I feel sorry for those who don't/won't tackle multi-caches, they don't know what they are missing.
A favourite point from me.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
--Robert Frost
In fact it seems I took the well traveled road tonight, and that made all the difference... between gold and bronze. When a cache is published a stone's throw from Frog Central, you know that your chances of a FTF are slim at best. But you have to go for it anyway, just on the off chance that Damn Freddo is otherwise occupied. Of course he wasn't!
I'd almost made it to the top when I was re-acquainted with the Lord of Sushi. We stopped for a chat, and compared notes - this was my 2nd continuous day of caching. It was his 649th or so. Shouldn't take too long to catch up I think...
The view from the cache is just - wow! Especially on a new moon, with the stars at their brightest, and clear skies (to borrow a catchphrase). No way you could capture that vista with a photo. Definitely a favourite .
TNLN - Thanks Team Wibble!

Well I can't write poems like winter dragon can!
I called the only cacher in the area that I have a phone number for and Honey Sucker said sure. So we drove to the GZ and looked up "HOLY CRAP" I said and then we started trudging, up, up and up we went, this is no 2.5 terrain I complained after it took me a few minutes to catch my breath (not enough oxygen at THAT altitude) once the coordinates where in hand we moved onto the GZ, left TB, then lights and people appeared, thought they might be cachers but no they where just dog walkers.
Started heading down hill and who should we run into but Mr Astro himself, a quick photo and an almost quicker plunge back down to the car and we were off again. Finally made it back to the car and off for another cache. I am so unfit!
Slight word of warning to future finders, probably not kid friendly and definitely not pusher friendly and probably not a good cache to do if it's wet as it could be mighty dangerous in the rain.
Thanks Wibbles for a fantastic view. Took Path Tag left TB,

There i was just siting quietly in the van when the phone rings its the lost wander "hey new night cache want to go" what a question ready in 5min in the car with TLW in 10min then up the path the phone rang good excuse for a stop and get breath opps now im in trouble with the Scoobsters again as i didnt wait for them. so onward we go slip slid climb all in a zig zag pattern,
then whats that winking at us it's a fire tack on we go another and another so it goes at last a final spot and a view and what a great view then as we desended we came across another solar system good to see an astro in the moonlight, we slipped on down and head towards home grabbing a few caches on the way

40 minutes after publishing, having eaten tea and finished a glass of shiraz Freddo stands near the top of a hill with a virgin cache in hand looking at the lights of Eldorado..
A great trail of lights. At times fenix was picking up three in a row. Nice that the locals also contributed.
