Beautiful day for a ride along the Amy Gillett bike trail today. Saw cows, horses, alpacas, plenty of dogs and rabbits. Got swooped by two magpies. Stopped for refreshments at Charleston Hotel and Barristers Block. And found three caches along the way, including this one. TFTC
Found easily with good co order. Left a small toy. Mick was a favourite in our family, so it was appropriate that we found this one and found it fast! Tftc
Today I decided to head into the hills, take a walk and find some caches.I looked here, there and everywhere, except where the cache was hidden!I guess I will have to revisit this one another day for another attemp.TFTC Cruz-nKeep smiling
Stoped in at the winery couldnt resist this one only 80 meters away. Had bit of a scratch around but couldnt see this one today.
Midweek journey to Mt Torrens and surrounds.
Found after looking in a couple of trees

Quick find after dark, after the cool change kicked in. Had to scramble over a fallen tree to get to it!

A bit of a red herring with a Tupperware with paper inside nearby but found the real one.

and much thanks to Cruiz-n for placing and maintaining this cache on our ever expanding SA geo-map

Exploring wherever we can - searching, spotting hidden items and signing cache logs using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just a guess or plain old dumb luck
Plenty of the luck stuff actually !!!
*Almost all the online logs are composed and published with GSAK of course.*
---
Beware ! Caching is a very hazardous activity!
Look out for sand, mud, floodwaters, snakes, surprise cliffs, roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods, and try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- and do watch out for bugs !!! . [xx(]
Ensure Travel Bugs are the Only bugs you share and pass on (Covid cancels caching!)
Keep a safe distance - cache the countryside
Great of all those placing quality caches out and about around the country areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game fun, and interesting
We do appreciate if you actually did read all this extra addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log Maybe if I worked out where I could do it and go back to normal logs again ! If you find the challenge let me know and we can put an end to these long logs !!!
C'est Fini.

Quick find here whilst walking along the trail, cache is all good
Today with an event on in Mt Barker I set off early in the day for a full days caching. Starting in loberthal and making my way through the towns and back roads as I went. Managed to get 55 finds and see 3 brown snakes at caches.
Thank for the cache

Quick find while doing an early morning hike with the Sunday Morning Walking Legends crew. TFTC
Food find! Our coordinates were about 6 m off but once we found the right area we are right
As I was reaching for this snug cache, the tree nearly staked me!
TFTC and Merry Cache-mas!

After a nearby success we decided to have one more look and were successful slightly south of the suggested GZ. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find.
I have been passing this one lonely green dot over the past weeks with the intentions to stop and make the find one day.
Today is the day, in the area visiting a muggle mate. A quick detour here first because she didn't want to come out for the walk with me.
Yay, finally converted it to a

Today was a bit of an expedition driving around the Adelaide Hills and beyond, to then around Murray Bridge, and few places in between. It began driving through Woodside on to Tungkillo to collect a few geocaches there, and then on to the river past Mannum and Mypolonga for a few scattered caches. It was then on to meet Michells&hound for her target D/T cache, and then back towards Murray Bridge to repair a few caches and find the northern area caches. Finally, I made a stop at Mount Barker on the return back to Adelaide. The day was rather nice; a little brisk and a few showers with only during the middle of the day it fell a little more harder.
I hadn't planned on finding this one today, but I was driving past and the lure of converting this frowny face was too good for me. I saw that after the string of DNFs, the CO had replaced the cache, so has been on my to do list for some time. Today, I parked along the road and made the jump over the fences next to the bike track, but spent a lot of time searching the wrong trees. Eventually started looking in the right tree, and found the cache in a predictable place. Thanks Cruiz-n.

We had looked for this cache unsuccessfully back in 2016. In our planning for this trip we put the cache on watch and noticed a string of recent DNFs. Then we noticed that the cache had been replaced very recently. So we returned today. After finding a short cut to GZ, we were soon looking for the cache. Accurate coordinates, the hint and a bit pf luck led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Cruiz-n for the cache. We can finally cross this off our list.
Had a bit of a look around but no luck. Gz is pretty dense. If it’s still there will need more time.
Hmm a lot of fallen branches and jumping coordinates amongst the trees proved this cache to be too illusive for us today.
Finally! This one was a nemesis for us as we've been here 3 times but couldn't find it. This time the GPS lead us straight to it. Quite obvious in the end. TNLN. Cheers.
While on holidays, I've been completing parts of the Amy Gillett bikeway for my daily caches. The geo-dogs and I have enjoyed walking along the shady paths each evening.
5 Consecutive 500cc World Championships... What an effort! Found and SL of this hide at 09:42 on 29/11/17. TFTC Cruiz-n
More infernal combustion memories along the bike/pedway today
