Thanks Angus88 for placing Angus visits Northdown. Swampy and I headed back to plunder more of the Northern coast over the Hobart Show long weekend. 4 day long weekend for 1 days annual leave. Sweet. This is day 4. We are heading for Launceston via Port Sorell. At least my log is not full of bad 80s references. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. This is my GC find #2223 and was found on 27/10/2024 at 08:36FTF: Found with: SwampyWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Hi Angus88. Today we found your cache on the Devo trip for the year. VK7HCH and I hatched yet another plan to whip it up to the north to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA. As there are so many caches in this area we had freedom of choice to do those we wished to. We have solved a few puzzles so we can find those and lots of others. Although I didnt find the girl U want, the caches were enough. Its a beautiful world here in Tassie. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5296 and I found it on Sunday 27 Oct 2024FTF: NoMates: VK7HCHMuggles: Condition: GoodWeather: cloudyMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)Tractable also visited your cache
Husband pulled over right next to this one from the wrong side of the road . Happily despite last searcher having a dnf this one was found in the first spot I checked. Dont you just love it when that happens? TFTC Angus
In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.A quick park and grab while passing by. Thanks Angus88 for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
#739 ~ Quick drive by find with Krossbo. Our first Angus cache for the day. TFTC Angus88!!
Heading home the long way because there’s a cache on that road!

TFTC. Needed to retrieve cache with my walking stick as it had blown beyond the fence.
On my way to Devonport, this one was a nice quick drive-by.
Safely turned around and made the quick find and sign at 13:18 on Wed 17 Nov 2021.
The cache and contents are fine and dry

I was planning on going golfing today but my plans fell through. I was already out near Port Sorell, so I chose to find some of the new caches and continue with the octagon series. Overall I managed to locate 7 out of 8, which for me isn't bad.
Sixth cache of the day. Though I would knock this one off before going onto some octagon caches. I was sceptical about the cache still being there as the area around it has recently been mowed. But managed to find quickly, still hidden nicely. Cache was in great condition. TFTF

Found this one sitting out in the open, but couldn’t see where it should have been hiding so replaced as I found it.
Easy find on a rough windy day.
Found on a very busy road had to wait for traffic to clear before putting it back
Thanks, Angus 88 for the cache

Nice clue and a good place to pull in on a busy road.
All good. Thanks Angus88

Co ords put me in the middle of the road but the hint put me back on track. TFTC
Out and about caching with Tassie Trekkers around Port Sorell, Squeaking Point, Shearwater and Hawley area and this was one that was targetted. A nice day for a wander even though it was very windy. TFTC

No minion, no Santa & no cache again for us. Not sure if we didn’t see it or if it’s gone missing again?
Today JL Rockstar and I headed up to the north west to find a few of the new caches over a few hours.
A short here for a quick find cache is all good

It appears this one has become mower food. After talking to a past finder, who discribed the hide, I'm quite sure it has been lost.
Out and about but failed to unearth this one. Looks like the grass has been mowed/slashed recently.
Thanks for the cache. Apologies for the generic cache. Spent four days 'up north; with Lil Rafa and the GeoGSP. Today was day 4, a bit cloudy today, but no rain, so another good day for caching. Today we did a bit of a circle, before heading back to Latrobe (again) for more caches and lunch, and then a couple along the highway as we headed back home. Thanks to all the co's for placing the caches for our enjoyment.
Thanks for the cache Angus88.
Up north for a few days with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP. Today we were heading back home, but we had time to grab a few caches before we hit the highway.
We had driven past the minion a few days in the past few days, but we had other priorities at the time. Today we decided we had time to grab those ones we had been driving past. Great idea to place a cache here. A nice quick find.

Because it's going to rain alot tomorrow, we thought a little morning sortie to the Port Sorell area was necessary today. Stopped for the Minion on the way, and would have stopped for "The Ghost Who Rocks" puzzle but we forgot to bring the solved co-ordinates with us. TFTC Angus88. Nice drive-by, and the traffic not too frantic. So onwards to Port Sorell where TasCoders and Spreyton22 have been fairly active.
We visit Port Sorell quite frequently and this minion always makes me smile. Love it when people do something just for the fun of it.
In fact I've been meaning to stop and take a photo of this one for ages for the GCA cache on minions.
A busy road meant I had a fairly lengthy time here, even though the cache was a quick find thanks to the generous clue.
Then as I was walking back to the car I realised I had the cache pencil in my hand so had to walk back and play the waiting game again.
Thanks.

Our second day up north and our plans have been changed due to the weather. We didn’t think long walks in the wind and possible showers/rain were a good idea so we reassessed the map and looked for more sheltered areas hoping the showers/rain would hold off. I think we did quite well.
Love the minion and the cache was quickly found.

This wasn't on my to do list for today as I was unaware of its existence but as it showed up when looking for the next on my list I couldn't let the opportunity for another find to pass by. A quick find and a safe and secure parking area. Thank you Angus88.
nother day off from and I decided it would be worth trying to clean up a few dnfs in Devonport and doing the moorland walk for a second time. Left Hobart at 7am with geo kid e in tow. Weather was fine in Hobart as apparently it was all day. Stopped, refilled car and got breakfast on the way in Kempton. A very nice egg and bacon sandwich to fuel to day.
Back on the road again, with geo kid’s nose in his Nintendo ds and me following that dotted line that has become common Again over the last forthright.
Just past Oatlands some dark clouds and the first sign of some rain. This cleared up by around Campbell town.
My second drive of the new road by passing Perth. It’s a very clean and easy way through the area. Have to give this a tick of approval.
As we approached Devonport there was some dark clouds, but these past over before arriving at the moorlands end of the track... started with the first few caches on the eastern end and then walked along to the western end. This track is very poor. Trees down in many places and simply a difficult walk along the “track” .... and I use the word track very loosely.
Eventually got all the caches and fought back out to the beach, the walk along the beach was a lot easier. All coordinates were good except for number 8 which was about 10 metres out according to my gps on the day.
Anyway little drive around to the other track and started by collecting the few that I didn’t attempted due to the rain last time, and then the cache “waiting for the ferry - gnarled and old tree” which I dnfed last time. Nice to get this one of the list.
Next it was the walk to the point.... interestingly one of the caches I found was very familiar.... coastal walk... which was found to be familiar as my name was already in the log book.... I must have found it and not logged my find. Oh well, at least I can mark it off now.
Most of these caches were fairly simple. 7 provided a problem as it was fairly well buried.
Walking back to the car was easier as we left a few caches to walk to, so the walk back had something to do.
From there we went to Devonport to get rid of some dnfs and a few adventure labs. 4 ways was nice to mark off along with the last of the walkway caches. Grabbed lunch while at 4 ways, and it started to rain while eating in the car. I said this is probably a shower.
Well. How wrong was I. It continued to rain for the rest of the day. A few small breaks allowed us to grab a few adventure caches without getting to wet, but quite a few we had to simply brave the elements to get the caches. Really enjoyed the adventure caches in Devonport and the bonus caches.
As it was raining heavily by the time we finished the adventure caches, we drove towards port Sorell to grab the 5 or so new caches out on the roads around there before heading for Perth to grab the nice little cache in the wetlands.
From there a quick detour to Launceston work office, and then off towards home. 46 caches I believe for the day.
As we pasted Oatlands would you believe it stopped raining.... weird it was only rain8ng north of Oatlands.
Arrived home at 7.30 which is an early day for caching in the north of the state.

Many TFTC...much appreciated...cheers ST.

FTF quick drive by to find and sign the log for this cache. Lots of traffic going by so had to be quick lol.
After having had an appointment in Devonport, we continued out to Northdown to look for this cache. The cache name made sense when we arrived - we have seen the minion many times before. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Angus88 for the cache.
