Staying in Mt Gambier, we decided to take a trip to Penola. We visited WP1 and did some sums, then crossed over the road to WP2. Coordinates in hand, we travelled to GZ where a well-known type of cache was spotted. Lovely.
With some time to kill in Penola before our flight home we spent the morning getting caches and inspecting the local shops. What a lovely place to explore! Jay with the find. I couldn't spot it!
A simple straightforward multi but when I adjusted the coordinates I wondered initially if my calculations were right but the cache was indeed there although it took a PAF to make me look there again TFTC and a favourite point scramping
This was a strange place to end up - not a Sunday School in sight. There were a lot of potential hidey holes - I groaned at the thought. But not Kristy, she happily found the little blighter quickly. Thanks, Scramping
Yeeha! The Wild West is calling and Snips and Co and I are traversing along the Southern and Western Victorian borders.what an amazing town and nice to hear about Mary's origin story and many of the other people in the townwe started off reading the wrong marker but it was still interesting and then made our way to this information plaque. the rest of the journey was fairly smooth sailing to signing the log.
13/07/2024 2:46:00 PMA lovely straight forward multi, as I have a habit of muffing them up, so I was happy to quickly and easily have a set of coords that looked good and enjoyed me walk to GZ despite the persistent rain. Thanks scrampingFind recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK
Travelling with richlink as part of our Caravan Geocaching Trip. It's moving day today, a big move... Narracoorte to Penola. Touring the area or using geocaching as our guide. Thanks for the hide. LNCU.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA. This is our kind of caching - back country roads. Windy arvo and hardy any traffic. Did the numbers and made our way to gz where the find was made and we recorded our visit. Thanks for the hide. LNCU

What a fantastic week of (late) autumn weather it has been in Adelaide! And with even more on the way, I thought Id take the opportunity to go away for a few days of caching, camping and sightseeing on my own. From Adelaide I headed down to the Coonawarra, then across to the Southern Grampians area then east as far as Colac, before making my way back home. I took a winding route, collecting caches of interest along the way. I managed to find a range of caches types, including Traditional, Unknown, Multi, Letterbox Hybrid, Virtual and Earthcaches as well as a few Adventure Labs. All but a couple were found without any trouble. Most were good order unless otherwise noted.Fortunately the weather held out pretty well for most of the time. However, it rained steadily for hours when I was in Colac one night, but I guess you have to expect that in Victoria! The required information was collected and final coordinates determined, than it was off to GZ for a quick find. Thanks scramping for the cache.
Found at 2:29 PM GAFF1.Haven't we been here just before? Darn it we needed to do all of the multi calcs in this town before heading out to find them! Thank goodness we have time and don't actually mind at all Took a few minutes checking all the possibilities and then by looking at the right angle an odd isolated item was spotted - but it was well coloured let me tell you. And then the drama of getting the log roll out unfolded Thanks to scramping
Thanks for taking me on a two point multi in Penola. Staying 2 nights in the area will give me a chance to explore a bit. Thanks scramping
This cache was one of those found around or on the leap day February 29th, 2024 before, during or after the Mega event in Adelaide. Many thanks to all those owners who placed caches that Swampy and I found during our trip from Hobart to the Mega and return home again.

solved on our last visit down to the south east but didn't have time to get to any of the solved finals. QUick find today.Found with Mogni. I think this is the most changed trip in the planning stage that i have ever been on. The " original trip " was supposed to start on the 31st of dec but at the start of December life changed and the trip was now starting on the 26th of December and all accommodation that had booked cancelled and now see what else is free on the earlier dates. A major readjust of plans and got 1/2 the trip booked before the next curve ball came in to alter the plans again. More adjusting the plans again and i realized i could host 2 CITO's in 2 different LGA's in Victoria. What we do to qualify for Victorian challenge caches. Also i got my 20, 000 cache over in Victoria in this trip. It was decided in the end that the 4x4 was going to be the vehicle for this trip that way we could go and target all the caches that you never get, the ones down the sandy/rocky/dirt and forestry roads/tracks. We left Adelaide and headed to Casterton for a couple of days, then to Budj Bim National Park ( and saw 5 koalas in the camp ground high up in the trees ), then over Heywood, a night in Mount Gambier plus there attended the 3rd CITO of the trip before sending a few nights in Millicent and then finally home. Over 250 caches found plus 86 lab caches. Mogni also got her 11th D/T loop. I also got 3 more Victorian LGA's up to 20 finds minimum for another Victorian challenge cache. If the cache was broken/eaten/smashed it was replaced with a new container and if the log sheet was wet it was replaced and if the log was full or almost full extra log sheets were added to the cache.
Christmas holidays means caching trip with sir_spectre. This year we managed to attend 3 CITO's, claim 2 FTF's, visit lots of Adventure Labs and claim many smilies.Caches that needed some love got it, and we might of even hidden a few too.As a bonus I got to catch up with my family and some friends along the way. Thanks to scramping from mogni .
Staying in Millicent for a few days of caching in the area to give the 2023 numbers a boost.A quick find as I walked along the path.TFTC
Numbers collected from both locations and it wasnt long after that I had the cache in hand. TFTC
We are having a couple of days at Penola, we do like this town it has a nice feel to it. The weather is fantastic and not another soul to be seen.SL TFTC
Love a simple, but informative multi.Easily nutted out GZ locale, then headed off.A quick find at GZ.TNLNSL Thanks
Something went astray with my coordinates but I worked a likely spot out by looking at the map and with the help of the hint found it.
Another quick find on the rail trail. Cache pretty much in the first place I looked.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. On the way to the Mount so stopped in at Penola to collect the 3 multis that have popped up. Visited all 3 spots and then headed to GZ and enjoyed our walk. 2 of the caches were found very quickly the 3rd proved to be very tricky but we got there in the end, quitters luck kicking in .Thanks for the caches Hevwalker and Scramping
Quick easy find! Just couldnt sign it as we didnt have the right tools TFTC
SL at 1:15pm. Daytrip out to Penola with bdiaw to cash in on the bottles and cache of course in the area before heading to Mt. Gambier. I have been to this place before - I love me an op shop! Purchased a necklace and bracelet while I was here before continuing to complete the cache. I think I was confusing myself with trying to solve E and F but I was able to nut it out in the end! Wonderful history here and lovely buildings.

Suscoe was heading to Nelson today, it was a cool start at Murray Bridge and travelling through Keith the temperature dropped to around 3 degrees. But the sun came through and it ended up a lovely later Winter’s day. Our caching destination was Penola with Adventure Labs, Multis and Traditionals on our list.
Penola is a delightful little town with interesting history around every corner.

Yay, found this one without too much trouble. I wonder how long before a trail appears here. TFTC scramping.
Joint *FTF* with icybeetas at 10.20am.
Travelled from the thunderstorm on Millicent to do some Adventure Labs in Penola, out of the rain.
icybeetas said he also needed a multi today, I noticed this FTF up for grabs so completed the information and did the short walk to gain a joint FTF for a Tassie and a Vic in SA.
Thanks for the fun scramping

CybergranV and I were in Millicent after the challenge caches in particular but as today was exceptionally wet with thunderstorms and massive downpours I decided that we should go to Penola to do a couple of Adventure Labs there. I needed a multi today as I am working towards completing a challenge and once this was discovered and had yet to be found this was selected. At WP 1 we had an interesting chat with a local opening up the building. At WP 2 we gleaned the rest of the numbers required and set off. A joint FTF by a Tasmanian and a Victorian. Thank you scramping.
