A park I dont think I would have visited if not for caching. This morning in the way to the skin cancer clinic I called by this park to take a selfie at an interesting sculpture that you literally cant miss. TFTC and for the horn blast last Thursday. I dropped the cache .
Last one on my list for today's scenic drive, what an amazing sculpture! A lovely little park area, enjoyed seeing the historical gravestones and also the very welcome park facilities. Have attached a pic with part of me in it, was quite windy today TFTC
Had a shift finish early, killing time until the next shift starts. Looked up the app to see if there are any nearby caches, and lo and behold, found this one. So a quick drive, then a visit to a place I have driven by any number of times, but had never thought to have a look, so thanks for bringing me here TFTC
A family trip to Tasmania during the school holidays since I was the only one who had ever been here and that was only 2 days in Hobart. So there will be a bit more exploration this time since we flew to Launceston instead for the start of the trip. That's a very cool sculpture. Thanks vk7hch for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
G'day vk7hch, thanks for the cache. As I walked into the park the sun was shining brightly on the tree making for great photography. However there was a postman sitting at the base of the tree, sunning himself, with his 'bike' resting close by.So my pics are from the back of the tree, so not as spectacular as I'd hoped.Cheers,EPs
Went past here a couple weeks ago, only remembered to log now! I'd heard a lot about the history of Quakers in Tasmania in high school so it was nice to check in here and have a look around at what this is today, TFTC )
Thanks for the virtual cache vk7hch.I just needed to find one cache today to receive a digital souvenir - of course, as I left home to find one close to home, the rain came down. So I kept driving and decided to head to this one which could park very close by and do a dash and run. As it happens, by the time the two GeoGSP's and I arrived, there was a break between showers and there was actually some blue stuff in the sky. Photos taken - I tried to wrangle a photo with both GeoGSP's but it was impossible.
This park is in an area of Hobart I have never visited before. Thank you for the history included in the description. At least the tombstones are still located at the edges of the park to indicate its history. A Society of Friends burial site near to where I live is now covered by two houses with no indication of its former use.
Ive driven past here many, many times but never been into the park.Bit rainy today so the little man wasnt too keen to get out of the car with me!!! You can just see the sculpture in the background! Thanks for the cache!
A rainy day so we decided to do some stuff around the house that we've been putting off; however, we still decided to pop out and find a cache for international caching day, this being the cache of choice. We've driven past this park hundreds of times but never noticed this really cool sculpture before! Love it when caching takes you to places like this, and interesting reading about it too! TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Have visited this park several times but never spent time on the sculpture. Thanks for the details and introducing me to this unique structure. TFTC
Hi vk7hch. Today I found your cache Friends Park - Virtual Reward 4.0. I went out before work to find this cache. There were quite a few kids waiting to get on the bus but they didnt seem interested in what I was doing and the bus left as I was taking the photo. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5044 and I found it at 21:29 on Wednesday 31 Jul 2024FTF: NoMates: not hereMuggles: a fewMy EPE: Condition: GoodWeather: okMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)
Wow, what a cool natural sculpture! I have been past this park many times but never noticed this work of art but as per usual the things and places that Geocaching shows us is always so cool! Thanks for bringing me here (on foot from the bus mall in HBA city) to this cool li'l park... it made for a welcomed bit of exercise and of course the chance to log another Virtual Cache, which is actually my 7777th find 12:06 on Monday 29 July 2024Loved this one, a Favorite Point from me TFT VC vk7hch
We visited this virtual cache after noticing it on a map earlier in the afternoon. This once very big tree has been well crafted to make this interesting sculpture. The required photo, with Mrs y'stassie looking through a gap between two trunks, is included with this log. Thanks vk7hch for the cache.
Love this park and its history. Happy to see that they have put some protection for the head stones. Nice find on a very nice winters day. VK7HCH de VK3ABK cheers and best 73s
Out and about with one geograndson. Required photo taken on a beautiful winter's day. Have been to this park a few times for caches. Nice to have a find as a virtual as I can't imagine the sculptures ever being muggled. TFTV
Today is beautiful weather. There is a blue sky, and you can see the mountains with a little snow. It looks brilliant. I kicked my bum out of the house. It has been a geocaching day for a long time. Arrival at GZ: Wow, that's a fantastic wood artist. I've never seen that before. Thank you for bringing me here.TFTV That is my favourite point (wink).
I'm sure I have been here a couple of times for different caches over the years and i'm back again for this virtual. It was a nice day for it today too.Found on 29/06/2024 at 12:05:00 thanks to vk7hch for placing this cache for me to find. Well I think that this is an {*FTF*} at 17:42. If anyone got here earlier then Ill remove the FTF.Got notified of a new virtual in West Hobart, and we decided to try and get it as virtuals arent published very often. The traffic wasnt too bad on the way to GZ so we arrived pretty quickly and made our way to the sculpture. The park reminds me of of St Andrews Park nearby, the headstones around the perimeter were interesting, though hard to read in the dark, well have to return in the day sometime. Thanks vk7hch for placing this virtual to highlight the sculpture, the park, an interesting piece of history and yet another green space close to the city. A favourite point.
