Off to Tasmania to get Flinders Island LGA and finally the last LGA for AU at King Island. TFTC.Out caching with Aquilus1 and TikvaNZ.Cleaning up most of the last caches on Flinders Island. The weather came up windy today so only TikvaNZ went up Strelzecki. The landscape around this island is awesome.Now on mainland Tasmania and off to Hobart for the night. Ended up on all the back tracks.Nice quick find.
Nice quick find and sign after waiting for smoking muggle to leave the parking area. Took longer for him to do that than it did to find the cache ??. TFTC ??
As we had an unexpected trip south today, we took the opportunity to look for caches in the recently published Highway 1 series. Today we looked for the caches as we headed south - tomorrow we will look for caches on the other side of the highway as we head north.This is an excellent series with well designed caches placed thoughtfully and with safe parking very close by. There were some interesting cache containers, with one particular style we hadn't seen previously - a great design used in a number of hides. Unless stated otherwise, coordinates were accurate (within 5m) and the caches were in good condition.The CO's, quite rightly, have included a very important warning about walking from one side of the highway to the other. It would be remiss of us not to add another. *In some places there are U-turn bays which allow safe access to a cache on the other side of the highway. However, once on the other side, the same access cannot be used safely nor legally to return to the original direction of travel - instead backtracking in the direction opposite of your intended travel is necessary before resuming your original direction of travel.* If possible, the caches are best tackled by looking for those on the side of the road you are travelling, not the other side of the highway. Today we travelled south and were able to find 17 without crossing the highway. We will look for the other 16 tomorrow as we travel north.**This was a quickly find but an impromptu tool was needed to extract the cache container.**Thanks Tas_Geo for this cache and the very enjoyable series.
A drive to Launceston tonight and coming through mud walls road I decided to stop and grab a cache on the way and this cache was perfect. Thank you for the cache, hopefully we will meet you an at event or Cito. Thank you for the series of caches
In Launceston again for a 2-Dayer of full-on Caching (after bringing a mate up here to grab his car).I have been out of this game for too long due to seven weeks of illness thanks to a chest infection that just wouldn't let go, (I'm so glad it wasn't the "100-Day Cough" i was told about)... anyway enough about the 'Hiatus from Health', so being back at it was such a breath of fresh air and being away from down south and back in Lovely-Launnie was just what The Doctor ordered My last one for the day before going back to Hobart [home] to start logging my finds for the 2-Day trip. Parked as close to the sign as i could and and made the find with a wee stretch required.SL outta the wind in the GeoMobile at 13:26 on Saturday 2 November 2024.Log within is dry.TFTC Tas_Geo {I have loved doing this most cool series and i've hardly made a dent. I can't wait to get back to the rest really soon. Thanks for the fun, it breaks up the journey hardcore... loving it!}
A new series of caches on the Midland Highway published in the week before I was heading north for the 'Hobart Show Day' long weekend - nice one.Today we were heading home after a lovely weekend on the northwest coast and collecting all the 'southbound' caches.This one was another one that required interesting parking of my ute. Once it was parked in just the right spot it was a nice quick retrieval of the cache. I felt quite conspicuous, but as it was late Sunday afternoon by now, there wasn't a lot of traffic around.
Thanks Tas_Geo for placing Mud Walls Highway 1 (Tasmania). Swampy and I headed back to plunder more of the Northern coast over the Hobart Show long weekend. 4 day long weekend for 1 days annual leave. Sweet. This is day 1. We are heading north. At least my log is not full of bad 80s references. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. This is my GC find #2256 and was found on 24/10/2024 at 10:45FTF: Found with: SwampyWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Hi Tas_Geo. Today we found your cache on the Devo trip for the year. VK7HCH and I hatched yet another plan to whip it up to the north to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA. As there are so many caches in this area we had freedom of choice to do those we wished to. We have solved a few puzzles so we can find those and lots of others. Although I didnt find the girl U want, the caches were enough. Its a beautiful world here in Tassie. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5166 and I found it on Thursday 24 Oct 2024FTF: NoMates: VK7HCHMuggles: Condition: GoodWeather: slightly cloudyMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)Tractable also visited your cache
**FTF** @10:55Being such a nice day we decided to go for a casual drive along the Midland Highway with our grandson. He was very excited to find some treasure. We had this newly published series in mind but sometimes we had to wait for our return journey to grab some of them.Lucky male membsec is the correct height and was able to reach! A quick find but took a little longer to retrieve.TFTC
