On our way south to visit family and took the opportunity to find some caches along the way. We found all of the caches we were able to look for, we were defeated by workmen right near GZ for two of them though. All the caches were in good condition, thank you for your work on this series

Off to Tasmania to get Flinders Island LGA and finally the last LGA for AU at King Island. TFTC.Out caching with Aquilus1 and TikvaNZ.Cleaning up most of the last caches on Flinders Island. The weather came up windy today so only TikvaNZ went up Strelzecki. The landscape around this island is awesome. Now on mainland Tasmania and off to Hobart for the night. Ended up on all the back tracks.Nice quick find.

As we had an unexpected trip south today, we took the opportunity to look for caches in the recently published Highway 1 series. Today we looked for the caches as we headed south - tomorrow we will look for caches on the other side of the highway as we head north. This is an excellent series with well designed caches placed thoughtfully and with safe parking very close by. There were some interesting cache containers, with one particular style we hadn't seen previously - a great design used in a number of hides. Unless stated otherwise, coordinates were accurate (within 5m) and the caches were in good condition. The CO's, quite rightly, have included a very important warning about walking from one side of the highway to the other. It would be remiss of us not to add another. *In some places there are U-turn bays which allow safe access to a cache on the other side of the highway. However, once on the other side, the same access cannot be used safely nor legally to return to the original direction of travel - instead backtracking in the direction opposite of your intended travel is necessary before resuming your original direction of travel.* If possible, the caches are best tackled by looking for those on the side of the road you are travelling, not the other side of the highway. Today we travelled south and were able to find 17 without crossing the highway. We will look for the other 16 tomorrow as we travel north.**We have not seen this style of cache container before. The unique design fitted snuggly and securely into it's host. The inner container ensured that the logbook remained in good condition. The same style of hide was used on a number of occasions, although some did not have the inner container. We have given a favourite to this cache for the design of the cache container (we have not given another favourite where the same design has been used for another hide).**Thanks Tas_Geo for this cache and the very enjoyable series.

In Launceston again for a 2-Dayer of full-on Caching (after bringing a mate up here to grab his car).I have been out of this game for too long due to seven weeks of illness thanks to a chest infection that just wouldn't let go, (I'm so glad it wasn't the "100-Day Cough" i was told about)... anyway enough about the 'Hiatus from Health', so being back at it was such a breath of fresh air and being away from down south and back in Lovely-Launnie was just what The Doctor ordered Passing all these new Midland Highway hides on my way up to Launnie on Friday 1 November, was torture as i was bringing a mate up to Launceston to pick up his car and had to be there by a certain time, so today, Saturday 2 November on my way home i had 'Plans to Plunder' lol Big Grin starting from the Northern end, so this one was first up. Parked nearby and made the find but not straight away as i was so accustomed to finding these hides in the usual hidey hole so when i discovered that this railing didn't have that spot i thought to myself: "ok this might be a bit trickier". It was found not too long after with a nicely crafted cache greeting me.Took the log book to the GeoMobile so i would be more hidden and not so obvious as the Motorist Muggles here are quite abundant.SL at 10:31 on Saturday 2 November 2024.Returned the log book with no Muggles at the time.TFTC Tas_Geo... nice one Smile

Thanks Tas_Geo for placing Esk Highway 1 (Tasmania). Swampy and I headed back to plunder more of the Northern coast over the Hobart Show long weekend. 4 day long weekend for 1 days annual leave. Sweet. This is day 5. We are heading for Hobart, as slowly as possible. . At least my log is not full of bad 80s references. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. This is my GC find #2261 and was found on 28/10/2024 at 11:03FTF: Found with: selfWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
