Yay yay the cache looks just like our bird dobbye! Thanks so much we had a bit of trouble with the NFT things but worked it out eventually! Thanks so much for the cache love the box !!!(((((((
On our first full day in Tasmania we headed for the Botanic Gardens and the surrounding Queens Domain on our geocache quest This was a new experience. We downloaded an appropriate app to read the tag. It bipped but sadly we couldnt seem to get any coordinates as we were looking forward to this as it sounded fun
Wow, has spring finally sprung?! What a beautiful afternoon! Surely it's a one off and the wind, rain and freezing temperatures will return? Anyway, this afternoon I decided to head out for an extended lunch and grab some nearby caches. We've done a few of these so already had several apps on the phone making it an eassy task. The cache was soon found and I thought I heard a budgie chirping but it was a couple of musk lorikeets in a nearby tree above. TFTC!Cheers,The Hancock Clan
Enjoyed the stroll and the new technology on a sunny afternoon. I wonder how much I missed THC by?Cheers
Hi Budgietas, thanks for the cache.I was at WP1 on Friday, then realised I needed to acquire some technology to move forward.I finally got that set up, but then had to wait for various separate lots of walking muggles, jogging muggles, and muggles with K9s.Eventually the coast was clear but it still took a bit of time to get the right technique to gain the first bit of info. This technology is all new to me But I'd run out of time.I returned today to finish this off, hoping the high winds wouldn't put a dampener on it.I was soon at GZ - where I'd found a cache before - and soon was signing the log held snugly within a nifty looking container. Lucky I was just (?) tall enough - well, nearly!Cheers,EPs
Out and about for the Spring Equinox souvenir and made a quick find of the budgie.Located on instinct as haven't had any luck with this technology at another new cache, so didn't even try here. Mrs W thought she knew where the nest was and there he was. TFTM
Today, out and about a few caches in the Domain area before on the way to an appointment.I arrived here to find one, but it took me a little longer, and I had little trouble with the mobile apps, which frustrated me, so I went back in the car to work on it and then returned to the tag, finally working. It's the same thing with another tag: trouble, too. Anyway, I short-walked to GZ, got it, and found a cute cache. Unfortunately, top on the lid with the bird off.Signed the log with stamp. TFTM
Hello Budgietas thank you for the cacheThis was a nice interesting cache to find. After a little walk around the area I managed to find all of the way points and then the final.Found on Friday, 13 September 2024 at 1614**TFTC**
Wanting to get out and grab me a cache i noticed this new Multi.(Having been not well for about 3 weeks uuugh!, i was very keen to come try this one with NFC technology).Drove in the GeoMobile to the listed co-ords and made my way over to the 1st NFC disc to be scanned. My Smartphone (a Samsung S21 Ultra) was an NFC capable unit so i then made my way to the other 2 then onto the final with no issues. The cache was a quick find and was in A1 condition besides the cache guardian becoming dislodged, it looks like he may have been trying to escape Signed the log at 11:53 on Friday the 13th, of September 2024.Replaced the cache as found and was on my way happy-as!I loved this NFC idea for WP's (Maybe there will be more in the future )A super-cool idea and earns a Fave Point from me.TFTMC Budgietas
Thanks Budgietas for hiding this cache. Now that my calendar and streak are completed, I can just cache for the fun of it. Your Multi-Cache cache, Budgie's Electronic Nest, was just what I needed to get me out of the house and exercising. This is my find #1965 at 06:31 on 7/9/2024. This is a good use of technology, thanks for teaching me a new trick. An interesting idea, out of the 3 of use only one of us had a perfect run on the waypoints but that was all we needed to get the finals.A long weekend showing 1TOOLMAN some cool caches, I managed to find a small number of caches I had not found.Found on 07/09/2024 at 10:26:00 thanks to for placing this cache for me to find. Hi Budgietas. I found your cache Budgie's Electronic NestThanks for hiding the cache for me to find today. I initially took off in the wrong direction but after a while sorted out myself. A short walk between waypoints and a little wet but my boots are pretty good so wont need cleaning. Finding this cache takes my GC finds to 5143 and I found it on Saturday 7 Sep 2024FTF: NoMates: not hereMuggles: a fewDistance: 17m but that could be the new phoneCondition: Good with a bird insideWeather: overcastMy favorites:Creative - Back to the future 1 by peaches (GCA5JYD)Hardest - Men in Black Holes by SG-3 (Archived)Most visited - Dragons Lair by Shagzter (GC2E33)
after grabbing a coffee on Saturday morning, 1toolman, SSR and I came to find this cache. I'd not read it so wasn't aware it was an NFC cache until we approached the starting point.I'd found an NFC cache with the family in Kuala Lumpur a while ago, but that was the only previous one I remember. It took us a while to find the first tag and the apple fanboy couldn't get his phone to work. SSRs thought he was 2km away but my phone behaved- in fact it was the only one that behaved for all the WPs. We only needed one to work though and SSR found the cache once we hit GZ. Old heavy handed toolman managed to break the cache and blame poor workmanship.Anyway job done on something a little different, which was good. Thanks Budgietas
**FTF** @11:30am, nice to see the blank sheet except for the beta testers????We were just about to head out when this fantastic multi came out so we put off the visit to the daughter to do our washing and the other chores until we completed this multi. We have done a few NFC caches in Queensland so had the app on the phone. It took a little while to get the app to read properly due mostly to where the tags are placed but we managed to finally get the information at WP1 then off to WP2 where lady membsec got muddy and wet feet wearing white shoes!! Luckily they can be washed! WP 2 was a little tricky as it was half covered in dirt so we had to do a clean before the NFC could read the tag! Off to WP 3. Male membsec spotted the spot and once again getting the phone in the correct spot was tricky but we eventually got what we wanted or did we? Off to the GZ. Looked like a likely spot but we searched and searched and we couldnt find the cache. We double checked the coords that we put in the phone with the information we received from WP 3 and everything was good apart from no cache container. A message to the CO to tell him what we had and a question about 5ft and 5m. A quick response to inform us that one of the direction coords were programmed incorrectly, hence the disable. What a great multi using a different way of getting information. A favourite point from us and Im sure others will enjoy this simple but different cache. Thanks Budgietas for putting a smile on our faces even if I did get my beautiful white shoes dirty!
