Pretty sure i found the location but no cache....

07-Apr-10
Not so much a DNF.. as a DNS (Did Not Search). Arrived at GZ with Ms wig and we began a search in different spots. I found some itchy grubs, so I was going to show them to Ms Wig, when I hear "get away.... get away" in a low gutteral growl [:(!] Out from the bushes pops Ms Wig backing away from a large Muscovy duck. It was big and slow, but it wasn't giving up... so we had to retreat [B)]

Will have to rethink our tactics to finding this one [?] [?] [?]

No 1 of 12 on a sunny Tuesday. Thought I was off to a shaky start when I saw all the workers in the park. Luckily the cache was in the other direction. The water might look a bit iffy to us but clearly the water birds are all enjoying it. I counted no less than 7 different species in my brief visit. A couple of different types of ducks, comorant, magpie geese, egret, a couple of different swamp hens and there are probably more. Just great. Thanks for bringing me here TheNanks - svn07

18-Aug-08

My thanx to THENANKS for this xtal clear bit of water. Definitely a [?]mark required. (pic) High tailed it from the car park up the bank and a bit of scurrying had the cache quickly in hand before scaring any ducks off.

Clear skies and thanx from TeamAstro. [^]

Found in the company of jabes on Australia Day.
Left the camera in the car and regretted this when we reached GZ - there was a duck family (I think they are ducks? Hens? The black ones), with three tiny little ducklings!
Would be nice to live here - beautiful spot!
Thanks for sharing this location with us, TheNanks, and TFTC!

Hi Nanks!!!!! "We're back", lost a member but gained 3 (including 2 mini people). Due to a recent move to very close to this cache location we decided to walk down and give it a go. Its a nice park hey Smile. We took little army man and kaleidoscope thingy. put in some stickers. Thanks Greer.

After a previous DNF on this cache, we decided to atack it again, as the geokids were visiting their geoUncle and geoAunt so we had a bit more time than usual to devote to a find. Didn't need it in the end as it was in the first place we looked this time... Don't know why we couldn't find it last time we looked!!!

Day 2 of caching in the dark lands Wink

After a very comfortable night with my fantastic hosts I was ready to find a few more. A lovely stroll across the park...plenty of bird life this morning. The cache was soon to hand. It was a little exposed...it's now tucked safely away.

I could see the cache from 5 metres away. A large lizard was guarding the cache and scampered up the tree as I approached.

The lake is magnificent. Not a soul around today to my amazement. TNLN.

Forty-ninth of seventy-nine finds on the Big Brisbane Assault with HawMorFords doing the driving and navigating. Found at 1925. The cache location was crystal clear alright. The hiding place couldn't have been more obvious, as the cache was exposed for all the world to see. We hid it better before we left. I made no exchange, but I did grab the TB. Thanks to THENANKS for the cache.

IN: Nothing

Our first cache in this area and a quick find once we walked through some big cobwebs - Ahhhh!! TNL The Key TB, SL TFTC.

Another nice hide in another nice location. Local muggle and sons gave us some bread to feed the ducks and the resident eel. (It was HUGE - well over a metre). Nice quiet spot until local teen put his remote control boat into the lake.

22-Sep-06
Our very first finding! Got into geocaching by a friend visiting from Sydney. Already like the idea of doing it..not only to get out of the house but to see more places that we haven't been to although we live in this same suburb! Lovely place and there was a beautiful frilled lizard welcoming us at the spot. OzCymru

A really beautiful spot in the middle of suburbia. Rode the push bike right up to the cache Big Grin
It was well covered but easy to spot to the trained geocacher's eye Wink

Time: 11:22
Time to Find: 2 mins
Cache Condition: Dry and Well Sealed
Note: I’m in town from Cleveland Ohio USA on vacation, and doing some caching while in Australia. I’m staying with family and friends in the Bayside area for the last few days of my stay. After driving the back streets for a bit I finally found a nice close park for the car that was within 300 ft of the cache. I really enjoyed the walk to GZ and there were plenty of cheeky birds about to entertain me along the way. When I reached the cache site I was surprised to see some sort of dredging boat in action! It made me smile! LOL! The cache was easily found and in great condition. Thanks for getting me to this pretty spot this morning!

Looks like we're one of the few cachers so far to find this one in daylight.

A quick wander up from our parking spot got us to where GZ was & the cache location was quite obvious (to Mrs Garner). At 14:49, we TNLN at this, our 13th find for the day.

There are a lot of ducks in the ponds here & it was quite fun to watch them going about their daily business.

TFTC.

A quick, late night stumble through the park. When arrived near the cache, the birds went crazy - much flapping and a lot of noise.

We made our log entry and got out of there as quick as we could!

Thanks to the Nanks.
