I was nearby but I see there's been no update. It's a tough call as to whether to archive it or replace it, but I'm not enthused about replacing it at the given coordinates. Somewhere nearby might be nice for a local cacher to set up a new one.

No luck... Should've read other logs I guess

29-Mar-15
Another look and no cache, is it really there. Could the CO please check so I can turn this little green box into a Smilie. No fun when you revisit several times with no luck. I have not recorded all visits.

Maintenance is needed and we can throw a party if it actually happens.

This CO's caches were discussed in the SEQ geo-community some time ago and the prevailing view was that we shouldn't be doing maintenance on their caches (given that I was going to replace a cache, but subsequently decided not to as others felt this was a bad move). The view was that not supporting them would open up locations for more responsible COs to hide a geocache... and this is an interesting spot for a cache!

Hence this NM and the NA posted last weekend.

CO does not maintain their QLD caches Twisted String of DNFs here.

Thanks for the experience if not the find!

Sad

After searching high, low and left, this one still eluded us. Even though MrsGreenGeckos and I were on a numbers run, I still had to pry her away to move on.
Sad

I'm reasonably sure that a large container would have presented itself in the search for it but we've come up empty handed. Also, happyharries, please have a look at the terrain rating for this one. With the steep drop-off even near the cache (and the co-ords had us scrambling around the middle of this drop-off), people with kids will need to keep a close eye on them when attempting this cache.

26-Aug-14
Had a good look about but no luck with this one. Maybe another day or maybe not.

21-Aug-14
My good run and intention of finding lots of caches within a limited time frame came to an abrupt halt here. I was very interested in the pump house itself but of course proceeded without delay to the GZ. Yep, it's slippery alright.
My phone moved around and around, so I went up and down, left and right. I checked out the photos and logs but still couldn't spot anything, and didn't want to harm any vegetation unduly. What an attractive spot! In the midst of my searching, I had two sweaty guys appear below, staring at maps. Looks like there was either an orienteering event or a rogaine happening nearby.
After about 20 minutes or more, I decided to leave as I really wanted to clock up some numbers today after a bit of a dry spell. I guess the last finders hid it well, which is always good. Hope to be back soon.

Decided to go on a bit of a caching trip to Cleveland today. Found the container without any issues. TFTC

19-Jul-14
After a very enjoyable breakfast with some of the Northside Puzzle Group, and spending a couple of hours solving some of the tricky nearby puzzles, we headed off to find some of them and any others we came across along the way. We were all enjoying the walk through this patch of bushland and the interesting things it contained. After making our way to the correct spot it wasn't long before someone had spied what we were looking for, and the log passed around for signing. Thank you for having placed the cache happy harries

A beautiful day to be out & about around this area... Decided to take in Cleveland and surrounds today...
An area to which I had never been before... Cool

After enjoying a coffee & a chat with the 'Northside Puzzle Group', I was happy to tag along & collect some smilies today... A fantastic area to go for a stroll... Cool

A bit of a search, made the grab, signed log & replaced...Smile

Thanks for bringing me here happyharries and for the cache... Big Grin

Out today for a Northside Puzzle Group invasion Razz
After a sumptuous breakfast, and lots of puzzle solving at the Coffee Club we headed out to find some caches [^]
Don't quite know what onlookers must think as a six plus cars pull up and a whole bunch of people get out and start rummaging in the undergrowth Red Face
Nice easy find by someone?? (or was that IolantheK Smile) down a very steep/slippery slope, and then a group sign [^]
The cache was way out in the open in full view of the path, but IolantheK popped it back out of sight [^]

Well that was fun Wink. Cache was found exposed. Log signed, cache replaced (covered).

After a delightful couple of hours having breakfast and solving puzzles with a bunch of like-minded crazies, we all headed out en masse to go a-caching!

And seeing as we were right nearby, we took the walk around this bushland to grab the other caches here. A few people were a little wary of the last 10 or so metres, but some fool-hardy souls took the leap Razz The cache was exposed when I found it, so I made sure to give it a little more cover. It's a very pretty creek area. TFTC, happyharries.

Enjoying the walk along this trail with a nice group of fellow Geocachers. This was to be the last in this bush area today and was in a lovely area near the end of the trail. TFTC

On a solo bike ride today to claim a few local caches. Wow...what a spectacular spot this one is in. I came in from the wrong side so had to hike my bike up a crazy incline, just to realise cache was further down. Bike stayed up top and I went back....BINGO. Cache found. Decided to stop for a bite to eat whilst in such a tranquil setting (except for the pump house starting up every now and then. Lol). TFTC

Terrain rating could be bumped up a bit. Reminds me of slip sliding away as you pass GZ on the way to the bottom. Cache & contents dry but log moist, left logbook out of its snaplock bag to dry. Big Grin

07-Feb-14
Captain Terror and I had just finished at Rifle Pit and decided to head through the bush and grab this cache as well. The Captain likes all things out of the norm and a large container is definitely a rarity in these parts. We headed down the path having a great time finding cicada shells as we went past.

We were soon at the Pump House and started down towards GZ. We got to the top of the incline and I turned to the Captain. He got my phone out of his pocket and started his solo descent. I stood at the top and I am sure I annoyed him with my suggestions of where he should look.

After he came up empty I jumped online and looked up the photos. Ok now we know what to look for. He continued searching and soon I started down the hill to help. As I got halfway to him he found the cache. Naturally.

He signed the logbook and replaced the cache as I made my way back up the hill to the safety of flat ground. It was a lot easier going up than it was coming down. Thanks for the cache happyharries.

07-Feb-14
Net88 and I were visiting the area and I had noted this geocache, listed as a Large was close by. Well, I am keen to have a look for it. I picked a path that I hoped would lead to the right spot and as it turned out, it did. We had a good time walking along the track through this wonderful area and picking up those funny little cicada shells.

After a while we came to the pump house. I was bummed that you can't look in, all I could see was the tops of the electric motors to turn the pumps. I commented how massive they were and later when they flicked on and revved up, they made a suitably massive noise.

Onto the geocache and the logs, description and GPSr all agreed on where it should be, so I headed down to hunt about. After some time fossicking about and poking around with a stick Net decided to come down and help. As she started slipping down the hill I spotted the container not far away. It was actually quite easy to see - not sure why it took me so long.

I headed to it and plucked it out. As is always the case with ammo tins, the contents are in good condition and so we signed the logbook, replaced all as found and happy with another cache secured, we headed back for the car. TFTC happyharries Smile

My kids loved this spot! Stripped down to their undies and into the creek for an hour! My GPS took me within 10 metres, its not too far off the track. Loved the army ammo box!

03-Jan-14
Another visit here. This time I had better map information available, and knew to approach this from the southside first. This lead to a whole different GZ than what I was chasing last time around (with the search aborted due to the route being too slippery).

The terrain makes the search slow, and after 15 - 20 mins decided to call it quits. I knew what I was looking for, just the location still to be specified... Razz
As I was wearing shorts, I stayed away from the densest scrubs, and next time around need to come back with long pants on to be able to go anywhere over here. Perhaps in autumn / winter time then.

TFTH, happyharries!

01-Dec-13
Another old cache and yep nice and big - the old ammo box Smile

Walking down the track from the pump house though is certainly steep but also slippery - take care or you could end up in the creek at the bottom Big Grin The iPhone seemed to struggle a bit but after reading a few of the previous logs and looking about the 'logical spot' was soon identified and sure enough there it was - all nice and dry.

Dropped off '7 Dwarfs - Happy' TB while we were there.

TFTC.

09-Jul-13
Out for a little while this afternoon to get a few regular to large caches to drop some TB's off, Although I had to PAF I found this quickly soon after, gps was not behaving today and I am doing this with an ankle that really should not be doing this kind of hill. Dropped a TB and slowly climbed back up the hill without breaking my ankle again. LOL

Lovely area. The kids had fun on the swings over the river. TFTC

27-Mar-13
Well this one was quite a challenge with my iPhone, it seems that maybe the trees interfere with the signal just a little to much.

Eventually I found it a bit further down the hill then the circles I was doing following the iPhone, and the log was signed and I was getting back up the hill. Did take a photo or two of the creek before leaving though.

found after scrambling around, found a bunch of ants outside, but not inside the container. The iPhone could not locate this one accurately, I had to keep looking and finally found it. THTC. TNLN.

Good find for the wife. Now hopefully I can get my GPS back. Had to cover it up a bit as it was a bit exposed.

Really great hidden spot -perfect for a cache.

I was hot and very thirsty when I arrived here by bike. The camelback was dry. Amost tempted to have a splash in the creek. Instead I found the cache after a bit of a scramble on the hill. TFTC happyharries

I followed all the geo-trails and thought this large cache should be an easy find. However, I really left my geo-eyes at home today Sad ... I'm now at 3 finds and 5 DNFS in one morning Sad And the sun has only just started to come up ... Decided to head back to the car.

Took a bit of finding but got it in the end. tnlnsl

15-Apr-12
After finding an access to the forest at the end of Gretle Pl, found the pump house and the need to cross the creek easily. After some rain, the slope was easy to descent as the soil was nicely tied to the ground but not muddy & slippery yet.

Based on earlier logs, assessed the northern-most option and it seemed to be wide enough to my I-hate-these-narrow-passages-without-handrails taste, there was even enough friction to keep my shoes on it - halfway through. Looking from the shore, it looked like the surface might turn into slippery midway through.
As I was alone and didn't really look forward to falling (risk adversity stroke), nor had intention to soil my pants that bad by crawling over, it was time to call the shots and come back on a dry weather with a friend.

01-Apr-12
Terrain very dangerous. Only one of us went down - suppose it was handy having the hospital next door.
Ground was dry and slippery, took a long time to find. However, found it - another to cross off the list!

18-Feb-12
Pretty steep terraine, but with a bit of care and a search the goods were found.TFTC.happyharries.

This was not a good idea in cycling shoes...ended up on my butt about half way down and stayed that way until the creek Razz

Of course that cache has to be where there. grumble grumble bloody cycling shoes.

Now i've got to get back up this hill. more grumble grumble bloody cycling shoes.

Finally found. Several attempts previously and this time successful. After looking in several places spotted cache and grabbed it. Think this has been more precarious in the dry. Didn't seem to slip in the wet as much.

29-May-11
Found it !! I had a team with me today along for the hunt ! Having parked in Gretel Place and walked the track that was behind the houses we found a steep decline leading down to three pipes. The GPS was checked numerous times and it was decided that yes the cache IS DOWN THERE somewhere Very Happy so with crab like actions going down the slope sideways we all got down to the creek Smile I must say its a beautiful area down here !!! Checking the GPS again along the creek we went and straight to the GZ with the goods in hand quickly. Signed the Log then up we went taking a different path but still steep we found ourselves next to the actual Pump House Very Happy we were going to stop for the day but thought no we should do the "INDIAN TERRITORY" cache while we were here so back down the first slope again to cross those pipes !! TFTCSL Took Trivia CD Left Aussie Pen

13-May-11
Number 9 of 10 on Radnoski's Friday the 13th caching run.

I had just found "Indian Territory" and decided to head for this one before finding the final waypoint for "Rifle Pit".

The GPSR said 500 meters or so. After quite a bit of trekking through the bush with the trusty spider-web-stick in front of me I as glad to see a path. The path led to some pipes crossing a creek and then over to where the cache was found.

It wasn't until I was heading back that I saw the pump house that the cache was named after.

Heaps of fun. Thanks for the cache

While signing the log one of those pesky black cache stalking ninjas jumped on in.

Managed to find a way in to this area and followed the arrow to GZ. Of course it's down there Razz. So off we went. Searched... and searched... and read logs... and searched some more. Still nothing. The vegetation has certainly taken off with all the rain and the creek is flowing strongly. Looked up and down the hill and still couldn't find it. Called our PAF (again!) who gave us some advice and during that time, Pagan had found it. Thanks happyharries. A lovely area.

22-Jan-11
I found my way into the area and started the hunt. My GZ did not yield anything. Odd. Checked the logs. Okay - its an ammo box. I was thinking some paint container or something. Started the hunt again. Still nothing. Noticed someone mentioned 10m out. Widened my search.. tripping and slipping all over the show. I finally found the well hidden beast. It was in good condition. Signed the log and slipped my way up the hill. TFTC happyharries Smile

#4503 Found this cache as part of a recent brissy raid along with Steeba and Big Matt. Accessing this are at present is a little hard but we were soon at GZ, then it took a while to locate as GZ was up there.
Good to see an ammo tin in use. thanks

Found this cache with steeba and The Rats on our 2010 Brisbane Invasion Trip.

Found at about 2:18 PM. Bit of a wander into this one. we then had a slippery trip to the GZ. These large caches are getting smaller everyday!

Thanks to happyharries for the cache.

Nice walk to the pump house, but why'd you put the cache "there"? I thought at the time that there's no chance of muggles finding it. Then I noticed the graffitti on the nearby tree Twisted. Well, no one ever said they were clever for spray painting stuff. TN/LN/SL. Bet the local kids love having this areas in their back yard.

Luckily for us MrMad has some mountain goat in him - he made the descent - as did BonkersBear but MadMoo and MrsMad sat halfway and admired the creek. With the tree ferns and the creek running, birds singing etc etc it was quite a lovely place to be this morning. We left a geocoin (kind of) behind as it is called Take me to the River. Thought this was a good spot for it. Finally can cross this one off - have attempted before but could not find a way in that day.

Entered into the book of LEDGIN'S. Wandered along the track to this cache. I was suprised to see a Hill's Hoist over-hanging the track. Maybe the back yard is too small. Found cache OK after a scramble down the hill. Great looking creek with plenty of water flowing. TNLN. Thanks happyharries.

15-Mar-09
The kids would have loved this one. We had a few drinks earlier near GCX9K7, so it took a little while... too relaxed. We did find it at 1600. A suprising beautiful location tucked away. Thanks.

02-Nov-08
A nice walk in and down the slope. GPSr had me a bit higher up the slope. AS I stood scratching my head, my gaze wandered adn spotted the black plastic bag. TFTC

30-Sep-08
Having finally found the right way it and passing by the fences of angry dogs, negotiating the slope was the least of my problems. Thanks happyharries.

14-Sep-08
Got to the cache location and there were people with kids mucking around in the creek. My son asked what the pump station was for, which was lucky as I knew a bit about it, so while we waited he got the run down. It help pumps sewage to the Cleveland Wastewater Treatment Plant if you wanted to know. Big Grin

The peoples left and after a bit of sliding etc we located the cache. Yet another special spot in the redlands. TFTC Smile

08-Sep-08
As I arrived near GZ, the GPS went stupid. If I had spent less time thumping and swearing at the GPS, I would have noticed the exposed cache only a couple of metres away a lot sooner. TFTC, it's no longer exposed.

21-May-08
Gosh, that last 20 metres is a doozie. Nice area. Thanks for bringing us here.

17-Feb-08
Ahhh! The peace and quiet! Only the peaceful sound of the bubbling creek - no geokids with me today. Just me and the 2 metre long carpet snake sleeping where I thought I had to go. Gave him a wide berth (just in case he wasn't a carpet snake) and discovered a better way to go. Found easily well away from Joe Blake. Cache was in good condition after all the rain. Took "Over the Hedge" dancing toy. Left a large lizzard and "Brown Owl" travel bug. TFTC.

12-Jan-08
Found in the company of KidzJCT.

Easy enough find bit steep at the end though.

02-Jan-08
Find # 18 for team Ksix. In our usual form, we seem to always take the hardest possible track to get to any of the caches. With the recent raind we have been having the cache was sitting exposed to anyone who may go that way. Have left in the same spot but covered with some leaves and sticks etc so it is no so obvious.

28-Oct-07
Well pump me, this is a nice creek, I might come and throw a few yabby pots in and try my luck. TFTC.

09-Sep-07
Had to engage 4WD mode on shoes. Unfortunately, jandles don't really do 4WD too well, and Mongy was slipping slightly down the slope. Cache was signed, Turtle was taken, skateboard was left. More hilarity ensued on the way back up (the old 3 steps forward and 2 steps backward).

21-Jul-07
Slightly disturbed by the house we walked past as we entered the area (which, as a kid, I might have labelled the witch's house) and being barked at by a vicious looking pig-dog, I was very pleasantly surprised to find the picturesque spot in which the cache was located. Steep? Oh yes, especially when you follow the least well-marked track of all. I suggest you follow the more obvious version Smile. Gorgeous little creek, pretty bracken, and an Oompa-loompa TB to take home. TFTC! ='.'=

Wow, that last bit was a challenge on me broken foot Smile I thought I took the easy way down, but it turned out to be anything but. I managed to only fall once, but managed to catch a tree on the way by and right myself. The walk back out was more straight forward, once I gave up on my path in. Cache is in good shape, TFTC!

What an amazing little area tucked away in here! Very peaceful spot at GZ.

Steve discovered his "all terrain thongs" were not the most appropriate footwear for this cache, but he managed to get the job done anyway. No swaps today. Thanks for the cache!

The wierdest part of this was the old guy in one of the houses that asked if I found what I was looking for. He is the Neighborhood Watch.
Up and down a bit at first but located the cache eventually.
Cheers from the Posspet Boys.
