This is our Christmas tree with our granddaughter in the foreground. Every year we get a real tree and it is a family experience - we pick out a tree several weeks before Christmas and on December 1st we head out generally under the cover of darkness to cut down our tree. It will be a self sown one beside the road somewhere. We get 2 trees - one for our son and his family and one for the rest of us. Often the trees look a lot smaller in the bush - thank goodness we have cathedral ceilings! Our four children, one daughter in law and one granddaughter all have a bauble with their names on it, we decorate the tree together and each one puts on their own bauble. Decorating the Christmas tree is one of our long held family traditions.
