This is a photo of the former Woolloongabba Police Station in Brisbane. The building was designed and constructed by the Dep't of Public Works in 1912 and continued to be a working Police Station until 1993. It was restored in 2001, removing some later additions and returning the old building as close as possible to the original plans. Even the colour of the paint has been matched to the original. The building is a rare surviving example of a suburban police barracks and of Police building design in Queensland from the early part of the 19th century. It is Heritage listed and is now a QLD Gov't building called Sports House South. Note the light towers of "The Gabba" Cricket Ground in the background.
