Logs for BigMatDozer

We tried to access this from a few different directions today in an attempt to avoid the Lantana. It probably didn't help that we only had things and were a bit weary of snakes. Thanks is for the cache!
It is always interesting to learn about the history of these smaller localities around the country.Found the container after a brief search. Thanks for the cache!
I'm sure it would be a good spot for fishing but it certainly doesn't look like a good spot for a swim. The unique cache container was a pleasant surprise. Thanks for the cache!
Out for a bit of a drive today so we decided to find some caches. This was a quick stop on our journey. Thanks for the cache!
A nice quick find here today. We did t know there was access tracks for the crown land here. We might need to come back and some point and do some exploring. Thanks for the cache!
An easy find here today. We disturbed a big cloud of insects when we brushed a tree on the way to GZ. Luckily they didn't seem to be the stinging type. Thanks for the cache!
An interesting building with some interesting information about the area. We pulled up and found the cache without any issues. Thanks for the cache!
No problems here. We Parked close by and made the fine pretty quickly. Thanks for the cache!
The road up to this spot could do with some repairs. Pretty cool tree, though, and it was a nice spot for a sit and rest. Thanks for the cache!

We found the cache on this distinctive tree. While we did have some spare things today, we were lacking in nails to secure them to the tree. Thanks for the cache!
The sides of the road on the approach to the bridge have been cleared lately so parking was good. After reading the plaque, we managed a nice quick find of the well stocked cache.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
We left the kids in the car for this one, but otherwise an easy find. Thanks for the cache!
We pulled up and found the cache without any issues, although the younger one did need a lift up.As noted the lid has a massive hole in it. It is perhaps more hole than lid really. Thanks for the cache!
After trailing a few complicated maths theories, we ended up reverse engineering the process to obtain the coordinates. After a bit of a wander and explore at GZ, we soon had the container, thanks in part to a recent bit of experience with this style of hide.It was good to explore places like this that we would otherwise probably never get to.Thanks for the cache!

This container gave us a surprise when it emerged with a big old brown spider attached to it. Luckily we shook it off without any further dramas and managed to get our names in the logbook. Now to continue this interesting drive through the wet countryside. Thanks for the cache!
Very waterey here today. We didn't spot too many birds, but to ve fair we didn't hang around for too long either. Thanks foe the cache!
Another nice little church with a cache on the grounds. The recent rain didn't leave us with the best conditions to search in, but we persevered. With the difficulty in mind we jumped straight to some of the harder spots and quickly had the container in hand. Thanks foe the cache!

After a bit of searching around we decided to widen the focus area and soon spotted something that warranted a closer look. Ants have taken up residence at gz, but the cache itself is still alright. We also now have the song California Dreaming stuck in our heads thanks to the hint. Thanks for the cache!
We initially looked at accessing this from the eastern side but quickly came against a locked gate. It was a bit late and hit for a walk so we decided to try at a later day. On the way home we decided to make a short detour to check access from the golf course and ended up drivng all the way up to GZ which was a nice surprise.Good views and a nice breeze up here.We found the cache and left a trackable for the next person. Thanks foe the cache!
This is a peaceful spot for a stop and think. We initially didn't have much luck, but in the end we trusted our caching instincts and a closer look soon had the cache out and signed. Thanks for the cache!
The kids were a bit sceptical of parking on the wharf, but the gate was open, so we went through. Luckily no one was in the homeless camp at the moment so we had the place to ourselves for the search. After a while we changed tactics slightly and found the cache. The kids also found a lounge and table in the water which they found fascinating. Thanks for the cache!
We have had troubles with these types of hides in the past , but luckily this structure is a lot less complicated than your typical war memorial entrant. Thanks foe the cache!
This is the second time in the last week that a cache has bought us to a commemorative plate that seems to have been put too far back in the bush. I guess the whipe bank was clear originally. At least this one has been cleared around, the other one was completely covered by the council planted trees around it.Thanks for the cache!

This is quite an impressive gate for a few beehives. It took us a little while to find this cache, but we got there in the end. Thanks for the cache!
We spotted this one from the car as we pulled up. The kids loved the cache and the hiding space. Thanks for the cache!
Parking was a bit dicey here. With all the wet weather we didn't want to head onto the low ground, but that didn't leave much room off the road. Luckily we managed to pull up and head down to gz.Thanks for the cache!
When we pulled up there were a few blokes having a chat across the road. Luckily they soon went inside so we managed to find the cache without too many troubles.Thank for the cache!
The mail box certainly stands out. It's quite well constructed as well. We stopped by the side of the road and after a bit of searching we soon had our name in the log.
Thanks for the cache!

We took the walk along the breakwater on a wet and blustering day. It was good to see the shipwrecks. Newcastle sure is serious about not taking responsibility for people getting hurt here based on the massive warning signs. We managed to make a nice quick find today which was good considering the weather. Thanks for the cache!
This was a nice quick park and grab as the rain started. We still stayed around a little to investigate the historical artefact. The plumbing actually looks fairly recent on this one. Thanks for the cache.
These finda often cause us some problems, and true to for Dad had nothing today. Luckily other members of our team have keener eyes and spotted it as soon as they got to the right spot. Thanks for the cache!
Tgis is a cool spot for a little hidden base. Today it helped to shelter us from both the muggles and the rain. Thanks for the cache!
After a very I interesting read we gathered the numbers did the maths and headed off to GZ. Unfortunately at GZ, while we did find the cache, the bottom half and the log were missing. We had a bit of a search around for the rest of it but we fear it may be long gone. Thanks for the cache!

There is a nice view of the city from this point for sure. The prominent position on top of the hill certainly highlights the power that the church had when building Newcastle. I guess that was the whole point though really. Thanks for the cache!
This cache was easy to spot but we didn't manage to find a way through private property to actually reach it. We suspect there is still a way, we just didn't have the time to find it today.
An interesting place for a trig. It field a bit weird stopping here, but there was plenty of space at least.
This was proclaimed as "the best cache ever" by one of the crew when they found it. We had nearly given up with the scratching around and moving leaf litter, but this was one of the few times when "one more, no more" actually paid off.
It's funny seeing this info plaque so hidden away, but it was an interesting read.
Thanks for the cache!
Oh and thanks for reminding the kids about that song. It returned to high rotation for the rest of the car trip.

We are not sure if this would be the best spot foe a picnic. The close overhanging trees make the bench seem a bi gloomy. Good spot for a cache though. Thanks for the cache!
This one took us a. it longer than the average test line trig as we initially tried to be clever and drove in from the wrong side. We briefly contemplated driving through the staff only gate. After all, as the younger one pointed out "you are staff somewhere"
In the end we headed back to the sports field and found it from that side.

It's not everyday that you find a trig point in the middle of a couple of soccer fields.
.Test lines may not be the most interesting journeys, but at least they are easy to find.
We managed to find the surprisingly clean looking cache pretty quickly thanks to the hint.Looks like some people have been driving a pretty gnarly steep track under the powerlinea here. You won't catch us on it though. Thanks for the cache!

We are having a quick overnight stop at Coopernook and took the opportunity to find our inaugural cache in this series. After a slight mishap with our cardinal directions we soon had the cache opened and signed. Now we just need to navigate all the bindies on our way back to camp. Thanks for the cache!
This was a nice quick find on the way down from trig hunting at the summit. All found in good order, signed and replaced. Thanks for the cache!
We have often looked at this spot as we drove past on the freeway, thinking that we should make the time to come up here. In past trips we have always had the trailer, or been under time constraints, but not so today.
It was a fun and scenic drive up here to an amazing view.

We ave often looked at the towers on the mountain as we drove past on the freeway, thinking that we should make the time to come up here. In past trips we have always had the trailer, or been under time constraints, but not so today. After visiting the trig points and the lookout we detoured past tgis picnic area for a quick snack and game of exploding kittens. It was a very nice spot, and the mozzie were slightly less annoying than they were at the lookout. The young one was confused about why both the hand printa were from the left hand, made it so he couldn't put a hand in both. Thanks for the virtual cache!
