Leaving Australia tomorrow morning for home in the US. Had a great time caching here in Melbourne and the Eastern Suburbs (oh, and it was really a business trip--got that done as well). This was a nice cache. Nice open area between some nice houses--like many geocaches, I was led to areas I would never have found otherwise. Eighteen caches over a two-week trip--thanks to Australian geocachers for the experiences.

Found this dark and rainy morning. Had solved the puzzle a couple days ago and abandoned a search due to dog-walking muggles hanging out too close to GZ. I thought I would have to return to the States without having another chance to find it, so I checked with the CO to confirm my solution, and then decided to take a shot at it in the dark early this morning. Did I mention it was not only dark, but also raining? After a few minutes of searching, I had the Aha! moment, and now I can take a smiley home with me. Thanks for the cache and a great hide!

I had seen the first stage in my travels, but never stopped and so never realized it is all explained on signs posted on the piece. Of course, even after reading them, I still haven't a clue what it's all about, but I'm confident life will go on without either my understanding or the functioning of the History Apparatus. Found the final stage cache quickly and was able to grab it on a late Sunday morning without attracting much attention. The log was dry, but is shredded from unstashing and restashing. Should be looked at and teh log should probably be replaced.
Nice place to visit, because I come from a place (Philadelphia in the Eastern US) that has a well known Boathouse Row. The find took a while on a Sunday afternoon, because my GPS was bouncing around a bit--seeming to indicate a hide in a place that seemed to private--and there was just enough muggle traffic to allow only short bursts of searching. I actually figured out where it had to be, but then had some difficulty finding and extracting it. But that's why I carry tools. Chose one that did the extraction, and then replaced the cache where I found it, but just a bit more reachable. TFTC.
#350. I went for this one the day before, but a bunch of kids were break dancing in plain sight of GZ and a couple of teenage girls were watching from about as close to GZ as they could possibly be. So I gave up on a Saturday afternoon/evening find and figured (correctly) that neither break dancers nor admiring teenage girls would be out and about early Sunday morning. Took a little time and a lot of care, but bagged the smiley. TFTC.
There are several other sculptures in the area that also are interesting. But this one invoked the image of whale tails, which would fit in nicely with the name of the sculpture. There was another visitor to the site demonstrating how the sculpture might be beneficial during a heavy rain... Email to follow with the answers to the questions.

Found on a chilly day. Nice hide. There was a tour bus parked at the curb. but I was able to use the body-screen technique along with the "isn't this a beatiful photo op--let me take a shot with my iPhone" ploy to grab the smiley without anyone seeing anything.
Great camo. This one took me a little while. No muggles about as it was threatening a bit of rain.
Collected the base information last week, worked out the solution during the week, fixed a couple of missteps in my first solution attempt, then walked right to the cache today. TFTC.
Walked right to it. One of those obvious, but not obvious, if you know what I mean. The log was damp--the plastic bag no longer seals, and I didn't have a replacement. I managed to dry it out well enough to sign it. TFTC.
After finding the Bushy Park cache, I drove off to find Exercise and Play and then Mont Court Reserve. Then my GPS brought me right back to the same parking spot for Bushy Park! Nice walk through the park to GZ, although there is a much better place to park as noted in the description. Had the right idea quickly, but for some reason didn't pick up the find immediately. Then the rain started, and I had to do the "I'm making a cell phone call and waiting for my ride in the rain" fiction as one car after another drove into or left the tip, or stopped off to explore the trailhead. Finally, the gray matter clicked and, with the help of nearby tools and other tools I brought, was able to make quick work of the find. Nice long walk back to the car in the rain. They don't call it wetlands for no reason! It was worth it for the smiley.

Nice place. There was no interest in the playground due to a drizzly morning and wet ground, so it was an easy and stealthy grab. TFTC.
I wondered what was up as I read the description-interesting song. Found a suitable carpark without the aid of a street map, walked to GZ and found the cache. With a map I might have had a shorter walk, but then I wouldn't have seen the extent of the park. Thanks for the clever hide.
Had to wait a few minutes for the couple to fix their camping trailer and drive off, then a few more while a family extracted their four kids from their SUV, then it was a quick find. TFTC.
This is my first cache during a business trip to Australia. Interesting building, made more prominent by its location. Fairly easy find, and fairly stealthy with reduced traffic on a Sunday. The log is quite damp, but I was able to sign it after a quick attempt to dry it a bit. I replaced it upside down in an attempt to keep it drier in the future. Thanks for the hide.
