Logs for vacula

Sadly, couldn't find the cache. GPS put me within several feet of GZ, but we looked and looked and could not see. Sorry. Will have to try another day. vacula.

Excellent, intelligent hide. Reasonably easy, after some pondering. TFTC. Vacula

A LONG-WEEKEND TRIP TO VISIT BROTHER & HIS FAMILY. THIS CACHE IS A GREAT FAMILY EXERCISE & BONDING CHALLENGE - WE DRAFTED IN YOUNG COUSINS TO HELP WITH THIS ONE AS WELL. GOOD WAY TO INITIATE NEWBIES INTO THE GEOCACHING WORLD. THANKS FOR THE EFFORT PUT IN TO SET UP THIS FIND. A GOOD TIME HAD BY ALL, AND SEEKING TO DECIPHER THE CLUES WAS STIMULATING, ESPECIALLY FOR THE KIDS. TFTC.

Thank you to Alsume for an excellent GZ and general location. I grew up around this area - but years ago when it was paddocks Y thistles. Good to return & see what some effort & cultivating by the govt/ dept has done for this beautiful area. Thanks for the cache! Vacula.

Success!!! (even though have to admit sought owners assistance for this!) Thanks Alsume. Another great hide & location. Today (after last fortnight's DNF) we approached from the west & were able to park pretty close. But then we did go hiking up the hill to re-trace "Aviator Training" search. left & took nothing. Cache is fine & dry & no probs. TFTC vacula. PS ( also need to confess it was not me but 12yo daughter part of team that located both caches today. Must be losing it a little! P

Set out with great confidence... only to have our dreams dashed on the rocks of reality. Spent nearly an hour here, but unsure of our calculations. Had no problems locating the main site - we used to play around here as boys, and the railway bridge was also a favourite haunt, before they fenced it off. I remember as a 10yo cautiously inching our way across the (inside) walkways, dodging broken planks, just to drop stones into the creek below. Ah, memories...

Now, I can't say whether the cache is still here or not. We searched high & low, under rocks, trees, seats, fences, stones, machinery etc... for quite some distance... and still nothing. The final co-ords need to be calculated and we weren't sure of our sums, so weren't that confident. Will try again. TFTC which will still provide us another challenge!!!!

Hmm. Had bad luck with two previous cache searches that day so decided to access this one (previous logs suggested it was 'an easy find.' Guess we wanted some sweetness to soften an otherwise frustrating day.)
Did not find. Believe we had the right location, (garmin said we did). We searched & searched - maybe for half hour or more - and were unsuccessful. But we are still very much newbies and could have skipped over it a dozen times without knowing (?).
End of a disappointing day of finding nothing. Another cache-that-got-away.

TFTC - see, we have to be appreciative. This cache has given us two opportunities to spend some time together out in the (urban) bush.
vacula.

Most disappointing day... 3 searches & 3 DNF's !!! Aahhh!!!
Anyway, it's obviously us, not the cache. Log shows someone did find it today (Sunday 29-5-11). But we're still very much the newbies! At this one, looked over, under, around, near (&far), ducking prying eyes of muggles etc... but still not located. Must have spent half hour there. Will return when weather & time are more forgiving.
TFTC ... which is proving elusive to us still!!!

excellent location - difficult challenge but well worth the effort. Most surprised by area... wasn't aware such rugged land this close to home. TFTC. Smile

ANOTHER GOOD CACHE. WELL PLACED... NOT TOO HARD. TFTC. THANKS. Smile

area covered with lots of vegetation washed down in last flood. Item might be there but too difficult & too risky to search better.

HI. SORRY ABOUT THE VAGUE DETAILS... DATE AROUND 2-5-11 BUT CAN'T REMEMBER EXACTLY. SEARCHED FOR CACHE WITHOUT GPS(DNF) AND THEN RETURNED WITH GPS (IT CERTAINLY HELPS!). FOUND IT AFTER A FAIR SEARCH... GOOD HIDE. TFTC.

SORRY ABOUT THE DELAY IN LOGGING THIS. FOUND (DATE APPROX... DON'T REMEMBER CLEARLY...) EXCELLENT HIDE. TFTC.

apologies about previous error on log. Searched for this cache - date unsure, but around 2-5-11. Searched and searched and searched but to no avail. Looked under, over, in, out, behind etc...at the co-ords. Sad you get the idea. Can't swear it isn't still there... just that two of us came up blank. Mind you, the location & view are great. This and the other valley caches gave us a new experience.

sorry... thought I had already logged this. Date approx. Good cache & hiding place. thanks for cache.

FIRST ATTEMPT TO GEOCACHE... BEFORE WE HAD A GPS. SO...WE WEREN'T CONFIDENT. TASK NEAR ON IMPOSSIBLE. DID NOT LOCATE. UNSURE WHETHER IT IS STILL THERE OR NOT. UNSURE ABOUT EXACT DATE... DIDN'T LOG IT AT THE TIME. SORRY.

all good. Easy to find, well located. Missing pencil/pen so bring your own. (we had to scratch note with muddy screwdriver!! )

could not locate. Believe GZ identified correctly, but likely position found empty. Suspect cache container missing. (??)
