Description
Nice place for a cuppa, a stroll and a flick.
Not many towns with a population of just over 500 can boast the biggest anything, but this town on the banks of this Creek halfway between Orange and Forbes is home to the largest Flour Mill in the southern hemisphere. The little town can also lay claim to the oldest running cinema in Australia. Allan Tom launched the Amusu (pronounced, of course, amuse-you) Theatre as a travelling picture show in 1923 before anchoring his projector in its current site in the centre of town in 1936. The great outdoors, too, beckon in the form of a couple of very pleasant, barbecue-appointed parks. Come enjoy a meander through this town.
Logs
Spent 5 wonderful days at St Arnaud for the mega and now on our way home. Stayed in West Wylong last night and staying in Tamworth today. 754 k traveled today and zig zaging as we find caches off the beaten track. This was an interesting experience. Searched up and searched down. I was seated when I was muggled. There would have been about 50 sheep walking along the track under the Bridge and they did not see me till I moved. Log n eeds replacing. TFTC

We were a on our way to Forbes so stopped nearby for a short break. This always means at least one cache hunt. This was the first. One of us went up the other went down. The other soon had the container in hand. The container was in good condition but the loose log sheets are getting tatty. A spring clean would do wonders.
Thanks for this cache The Sundowners. It was icy cold today so we had no trouble with muggles. Even the Mill, this side particularly was sleeping out of the wind.

Day 23 Mainland trip
On the road to Parkes and we stopped in Manildra to grab this cache. We did enjoy our meander down to GZ. After reading past logs on the terrain, we decided to go under and there was the cache. Thanks for showcasing this town. We stopped for morning tea at the park and watched a few trains moving carriages. TFTC

#GA3260 - 10:50; A plan was concocted with Sol de lune to hit the road for a few days to try and work out whether it really is the destination or the journey. We hit the road early on day one as we headed for Dubbo via Canowindra, Manildra, Yeoval and Narromine. After a couple of stops on the way through Canowindra, we arrived in Manildra as the rain was falling. Parked beside the road and headed off to GZ on the hunt. A bit of a hunt eventually turned up this cache with nearly 3 1/2 years unloved. Managed to squeeze ourt names onto the log before heading north for Yeoval. TFTC The Sundowners

Off on a 3 day road trip with LuckyL10n up to Narromine and Dubbo on day 1, then through Dunedoo, Gulgong, Mudgee before hitting Bathurst on day 3.
This one took a while to spot, however although it's been over 3 years since the last find, it was still there and not looking too bad. Certainly needs a new log, but apart from that it's all good to still be found. We noticed it's a dual listing on GC, however that listing was archived earlier this year, so now it's only a GCA cache, which is fine.
Thanks Sundowners...if you're in the area one day, we couldn't replace the log so hopefully you might be able to do so.

Found with Gangstella on our way back from the Dargan Arch event. It was quite dark when we finally arrived, but with torches in hand it was quick to find. TFTC
What an amazing place Manildra is
I have never visited this little town before.
I do know the name though and as I drove in from the west, was not at all surprised to see track loads of rail wagons, towering silos and massive industrial sheds
Somehow I imagined it would be out of town and not the centre of it !!
The main street of Manildra is classic old, sleepy Aussie town on one side, and heavy industry on the other
You normally only see this sort of mish-mash in North Queensland sugar towns !!
I found a nice little parking spot under a shady tree in a local park and wandered back towards the noise with GPS in paw.
A quick poke around soon had me a cache in paw.
Not quite a terrain 1 though
TFTC.

I did this as a GC cache few years ago, but I still struggled to find it today. After waiting for a few youths to pass, I finally nabbed it again. Thanks

This is an amazing Flour Mill - and in the middle of nowhere.
Found the cache but beware of all the guards for this cache - they are hanging around everywhere but if you leave them alone they will leave you alone. TFTC.

VERY LATE LOG.
Didn't realize that it was a double listing so thought i better log it on GCA also.
Remember it was a rainy day when I found it.

A review of the Needs Archiving log reveals a cross posted listing on GCA and GC, however this is not against any rules at GCA, so this cache does not need to be archived.
