Description
This is a locationless cache, which can be logged by anyone from around the world.
On recent visit to City Beach in Western Australia, I came across this intriging structure (see image). Something from the past? It made me wonder what other beach patrol towers are still in existence around Australia, New Zealand and other parts of the world, hence this locationless cache.
The given coordinates are for the tower at City Beach. You are welcome to log other towers subject to the following cache rules:
(a) A photo with your GPSr must be included in your log;
(b) An individual beach patrol tower can only be logged once;
(c) A caching team can log as many towers as they wish.
Any history you can include in your log would be greatly appreciated.

We went to Main Beach (Gold Coast) for a swim and this was the life savers tower near the flags.
Thanks Aushiker
PS visiting Muscle Beach didn't seem to gain me anything in the muscle department.

On day thirteen of our excursion out of Tasmania touring from Melbourne to Canberra and return via Gippsland we toured around Lakes Entrance, staying in the seaside town for two nights. We attempted many of the caches we previously had to leave as we travelled north to Canberra. After a wild night of wind and rain, it was a pleasant day – fine and cool. We spent the morning walking between caches and then used our car for the afternoon cache hunts.
After walking across the Lakes Entrance Footbridge we saw a very prominent beach patrol tower on Main Beach. We were very sure that this tower would have been logged already but, just in case it hadn't, we took the obligatory photo and measured the coordinates. Later when we went online to check, we were very surprised that this tower had not been logged. A find for us.
Thanks for an interesting locationless cache - really enjoyable.
Walking further up Kuta Beach after the "Surfer Crossing" sign we came across this Kuta Beach Tower - perfect !!
TFTC !!
On the Gold Coast for the weekend to attend a Wedding and managed a few caches at the same time. The beach was a busy place on a Friday afternoon.
Thanks for the fun...
The others have been logged already.
I'm staying here for a week and a quick walk down Hastings Street had me logging this find.

It was a Sunday arvo but we still had to pay for parking near the GZ. I decided to grab a photo of this beach patrol tower after we found the other cache to get some value for money from our parking costs. (OK it was only $1 so that would be 50c per smiley)
Fangsoki begrudgingly took the photo of me in front of the tower while muttering something under his breath about me and my silly camera.
TFTLC. Cheers
I wandered down to the beach after finding the cache and spotted this Beach Patrol Tower.
The Gold Coast on a nice evening is certainly a great place to be.
TFTLC. Cheers!
I decided to grab a photo of a Beach Patrol Tower before jumping back in my car.
I was hoping to find a helpful tourist to take the photo but they all seemed too busy looking at the surf or getting back to their tour bus.
I used the timer and raced in front of the tower for a shot.
TFTLC. Cheers!

Windang Surf Club is at the southern end of Perkins Beach, the longest in the Wollongong area at 6.6km. This end of the beach has developed since the war and the opening of the bridge across the lake entrance. Windang has a large car park, a caravan park on the northern side and the lake entrance channel on the south side, with park and picnic facilities along the shore. Waves are a little lower at this end of the beach however rips continue to dominate, with the intervening bars usually attached to the shore.
It is a great spot and you may even find a cache hearby.
At the middle of the photo is a long shot from further around the boulevard, with an arrow indicating the tower. To the right is a close-up segment of the same shot.

This cache has been on my to do list for ages,
so today i went and did it.
Since i am making the move North and to the outback, thought i had better log this one on the way before its too late! This surf life saving tower is located in Kingstone SE, on the dunes. I cannot say all the much about it but that it is typically australian!

Unfortunately forgot to include GPSr in photos as I only had memory to work from. Thanks to Aushiker for allowing the log.
TFTC and the trip down memory lane
When I used to live at Glenelg a year ago it didn't have a surf lifesaving tower. Was down there for work today and with the old surf club being demolished and relocated it seems to have gained one. This overlooks the beach volleyball courts, and probably has a great view of the beach scenery during summer!
