Description

Go for a drive up a hill! Then walk down a hill!

This cache is not far from parking at S35 20.750 E138 29.052 There is magnificient views from up here, of the southern end of the 'Mid Coast'. We originally were going to get 'Virtual Vacation' up and running with some maintenance, but it has totally been muggled. So we saw this hill and decided to place our first GCA cache here instead. It is still far enough away from the other cache to be more than a saunter over to claim (you'll see the gully when you get there!) This cache has an assortment of goodies, including: Patch, magnet, 'flat' marbles, water balloons, golfball, resus mask, bottle stopper, & a car wash token. Enjoy the peacefulness of being 'on top of the world'! PS: It wasn't windy the day we placed it! :-)

I could have found this several times over the years, but with the previous found log painting a grim picture, had never made the effort. Crying or Very sad

It was only a couple of weeks ago I discovered that this cache is listed on the 'merkin site, and that maintenance actually had been happening! Dancing

We took another drive up to this spot today, and after a short stroll, and nearly ending up on my arse a couple of times, I finally added our stamp to the logbook.Awesome spot for a cache, and glad we can add this cache to the control of clan Minotaur. Clan MinotaurClan MinotaurClan Minotaur

I've added a photo to prove to other potential GCA finders that this cache is more than just a lid. Clapping

Thanks Hurtle.

Was out caching with Liz & Bruce, Honeysucker, Shonky Logic & Team Unicycle grabbing 27 finds for the day.

Well we found the lid so I guess it needs maintenance. TFTC

Last time I was here I got to the parking area at the top of the hill, but with sleeping geokid in car it was too far to venture off.

But today was a different matter, so a nice easy find was in order after a startled kangaroo disappeared down the gully.

Beauitful view but couldn't believe the amount of trash in the area, especially the cars. Sad Sad to see it like that. Lucky we hop into Skippy’s 4WD, I had to close my eyes while drive up or down the hills but I am glad I came here. Thanks Team Hurtle for the hunt and cache Smile

Armed with a four wheel drive, four GPS units and a laptop, Team Waldron and I were hopeful of an easy find. But no, the gully looked just too deep. We had our fill of cliffs today! We will be back.

Good spot for a cache and some good exercise to get it. Did I mention the flies? Thanks Team Hurtle.

WOW what views from up here. What hard work to get a cache.
Parked at the parking spot and did the rest on foot. Down not too bad but getting back up had me beathing hard. Lucky it wasn't a hot day.

Great spot, but pity about the rubbish and the flies. Warm day - wanted to get this one before it gets too hot. TNLNSL. Thanks.

Easy find, Road is greatly improved, Always fun when they use it as one of the stages of the SDCC Rally at night!
Some of the cars are even hitting 180Kph+ on it! (Closed road of course!).

Drove to within 20 mtrs, TNLN, Cheers.

Drov up the hill on a road that has been greatly improved since I did the Virtual Vacation cache. Then parked next to a 4WD at the given coordinates. To my surprise they weren't cachers but just up there to enjoy the view and go for a little walk!
Once they disappeared cache was quickly located, swapped something! and then headed back down for some lunch.
Cheers, TFTH.

Found by Stanleys. glad to find that we were the first to find this one. Interesting drive up the hill from Main South Rd; I always thought the road stopped at the pub. Took the travel bug to set it back on its way, left nothing. Pity to see that people push cars over the edge around this scenic part of the Southern Vales. Thanks for the cache Team Hurtle (we seem to be doing a lot of yours lately) Stanleys

Whomever is ftf, please take the travel bug and move it on. We had a blonde moment and left it in the cache, forgetting that this is a GCA!
