Description
The amazing early bridge builders
The Neales River crossing is the largest water crossing on the Oodnadatta track and is located about 144kms from William Creek. Depending on the season this may offer a pleasant camping location with a water back drop, beneath the Algebuckina Railway Bridge, or it could be as dry as a bone. This 578 metre 'Old Ghan' bridge was major engineering exercise. It is the longest bridge in South Australia and, with soaring steel arches, makes a very imposing impression. There are graves at the northern side of 3 railway workers killed building the line. This cache complements the existing "Here Today, Ghan Tomorrow" cache situated at the other end of the bridge, and gives a good excuse to walk between the two. Dont try walking along the bridge track, though!

A quick find here after visiting the other end first. Impressive structure! Nice to find such an old GCA cache with still the original container to!
TFTC
This old bridge has always been an attraction out here. It has been awhile since this cache has been found, but it was there and is still ready to be found, even though it is almost as rusty as the bridge.
Thanks

My arm was just long enough to grab this one. TFTC.
Tin is rusty but was able to open it.
Contents are ok.
Signed log.

This location is close to the birdsvill track, no where near the bridge on the oodnadatta track.
