Description
After having a great deal of fun trying to complete a few of the locationless caches on GCA, we decided to have a go at creating our own.
The Goulburn Valley is noted for many things with many of them involving aspects related to the proud fruit and dairy industries, and more recently some of the magnificent wineries that have been developed in the area. Several years ago the City of Greater Shepparton and the Shepparton Show Me committee developed an amusing, and clever tourist attraction for the area.
This tourist attraction involved the placement of a large number or fibreglass cows that had been decorated by many artists including Ken Done, Ivan Durrant, Pamela Irving, Helen Geier, Judy Holding, Sharon Davson as well as local artists such as Angie Russi, Glenda Cornell, TANK, Joan Nish, Janet Fogarty, Gallina McKenzie, Lyn Patone and Suzanne Hayes. There are also great examples of local indigenous art, which was contributed by Kevin Atkinson and Melinda Solomon.
The goal of this cache is to log your 'find' with that being a picture of yourself/caching family and your GPSr with one of these cows (or similiar types of cows out of the area if it is too tricky).
Now this cows can be easily found in and around the Goulburn Valley area and they tend not to stay in the same spot all the time! They have even ventured down to the big smoke on occasion and it would be a clever find for one of these to be logged out of their usual surroundings. Each cow can be logged more than once as long as the picture includes the cacher/s and the GPSr, and one 'find' per cacher ID please.
Sometimes a few of the locals try their hand at 'cow tipping' and you may find the cows having a lay down which coincidentally tends to be on a weekend!
Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what sort of cows we are looking for:
Nicky Whelan also caught up with a couple of the cows at Fed Square. Bonus points for a picture of you and Nicky Whelan with your GPSr! Nuff said!
Now good luck, have fun, and happy herding!!!

Spotted and snapped for the Cacheopoly Game
There are a few of these cows in Tasmania near Ashgrove Cheese Factory but this one is in the Launceston Airport waiting area.
We came across this cow in Birchip, Victoria.
Thanks for the Locationless Cache
It's a scarecrow cow and was in the town of Tallygaroopna in Victoria at S36 14.340. E145026.023.
Photo shows Mr Beetle and the cow.
We’ve rounded them up and put them on the ferry, just waiting now for the water to come up so we can float them back to Shepparton.
Thanks for this fun Locationless Corey.
This is also at the start of a GC Multi cache
TFTC.
Found this true blue Aussie cow with her good mate drapped with luscious looking grapes and tomatoes at the delightful little town of Murchison this morning.
I've driven through here so many times without stopping, but today was the one to pull over, get out the bikes and ride the Rail Trail out towards the Warananga Basin, learn the history of the railway, the irrigation scheme, and them head into town for a pie and coffee - both excellent - and to stumble upon these girls I've been keeping an eye out for since the beginning of States of the Nation.
All in all a great visit.

I spotted this cow at the Christmas in the Park celebration today. So many people, food trucks and things to do. TFTC
Not just a mad cow, a mad cow seat - plus a couple of willing takers to try it out.
TFTC cdmark.
This one lives in the very urban suburb of Mortdale, NSW. It is part of an extensive front yard Australiana display. This cow is so mad that owners have it chained up, presumably to keep it from charging at pedestrians walking past. No GPS in photo as I use the phone.
Thanks for the cache CDMARK

Someone has gone to a lot of trouble building this.
Thanks for the cache CDmark
This is better than the real thing. At least they don't chew up your veggie crop!
Cheers cdmark, thanks for me notice more of the cows around us.

Almost a complete herd of metal bovine creatures complete with minder (dog).
A great find on a lovely sunny afternoon.

A lot of history here, woth checking out.
This one is located at Kiama.
The sculpture was built to symbolise togetherness and community spirit while reflecting the local areas dairying history.
The mother cow was finally finished in 1996 and joined by her calf in October the following year, with completion of the whole project in June 1997.
Thanks cdmark for the cache
On the drive back to Melbourne we came across several cows in Murchison.
