Description
This is a locationless cache, that can be logged by anyone within Australia.
There are a number of excellent caches (locationless or otherwise) that celebrate our colourful past and provide a record of our history. This cache is dedicated to the people on the land, who provided much of the strength and spirit of our country during the earlier developing years. The idea is to capture some of the character of traditional rural Australia - this is the world of "Jolliffe's Outback" and "The Man From Snowy River".
To log this cache you need to find an old style shed, out building or farmhouse (uninhabited); we passed an example recently that should give you a good idea.
The standard locationless rules apply:
(i) A picture with your GPSr must be included with your log (and coordinates)
(ii) An individual building can only be logged once
(iii) Only one log per user permitted please

Spotted what was left. Very eerie only the chimney. Makes you wonder why it is on the road still. TFTL Using for the Cacheopoly games

Have already claimed this one but would love to add another.
Pass this old hay barn most days and hope it stays as the property has been sold and is being developed as an equine veterinary centre.
It has such character and has the old pressed tin walls.
It can be found in the town of Forth at S41 11.444 E146 14.996
Thanks.

Since this one was published we must have passed hundreds of buildings that fit the criteria for it.
Today I finally got organised and stopped to take a photo of this old shed less than 500 metres from home.
We believe it was once a butcher's shop and it can be found at S41 15.738 E146 15.174.
Thanks.

We quite often pass some wonderful old buildings, usually left as ruins.
It’d be great to hear to stories of the families who lived out in these areas.
This farm house has been call Jacks farm house, there isn’t any information on location , though it is on the road between Yalgoo and Morowa, WA
A beautifully built house, all built from stone.
I can’t image living out here
Our phone is our gps and camera.
Thanks for the Locationless Cache

We love travelling Aussie country roads and discovering old farm sheds and ..............
We used to drive past this old abandoned farm house at Claude Road every day. It's gradually getting more and more run down. Someone must have loved it once.
As we were driving up the Tasman highway, I noticed this wonderful old building, full of character and seemingly still in use. I think this example od Australiana deserves to be recorded here
I was in the company of red tag visiting a cache near to Forcett in Tasmania when I saw this shed on the side of the road. Looks like it is for sale too if anybody wants it...
Five of these kerosene huts were built in Morven to house Aussie battlers during the Great Depression around 1932 ... one one still exists made out of kerosene tins.

Found this while caching around Blowering Dam. This bush trig sits below the dam wall and sits atop a benchmark point.
Looks like it was made to be a visible reference point for the dam wall work.

The small country town of Corryong celebrates its links with the Man from Snowy River. In the grounds of the Man from Snowy River Museum is a quaint little cottage that was relocated there from an outlying farm in the district, in order to preserve this little farm house and save it from ruin. Only a couple of rooms, and an outhouse of course. TFTC!
On our way through No Where Else we noticed there are a number of old farmhouses, barns and other buildings which are no longer in use. Newer houses and buildings can be seen on the same properties.
An appropriate day to remember these pioneers on.

Hmm it seems many have missed the aim of this locationless:
"To log this cache you need to find an old style shed, out building or farmhouse (uninhabited)..."
Not sure a lot of things here qualify.

320. I walk by this one on my long walk and always have a look. It's totally fenced off now but I guess in it's past it was used as a horse shade? A bit worse for wear now.

Old farm outbuilding not far from the road on a still inhabited farm. Is just along Silver Hill Rd, near Glaziers Bay, southern Tasmania. Lovely area. Beach and agriculture right next to each other.
I drive past these ruins everyday. Having seen this locationless cache, I stopped by today to grab a photo. It's from the main road as the ruins are on private property. Photo's are of the ruins an nearby sign. Below is a brief description from the internet.
STONE RUIN, MUGGA LANE (BUILT PRIOR TO 1878)
Located approximately 4km from the Hindmarsh Drive junction and 1.5km from Long Gully Road junction. It is located on a privately leased farm so access is restricted but it can be easily viewed from the road.
Internet Description
The original two room cottage was built from stone obtained from nearby Mt Mugga Mugga, sometime prior to 1878. An additional two rooms were added later. The cottage was built as an out-station, or overseer’s house for employees of the Duntroon station. Although now in ruins, It is reminiscent of Blundells Cotttage (also Duntroon Station).

The first road across the Blue Mountains of NSW.
This was a major engineering achievement, and accomplished in a very short period of time.

I've been looking for ages for something worthy of this locationless. I see plenty of rundown sheds etc. but this needed something more. I reckon I found it in this small dwelling, clearly long disused, but which still shows how it must have been when first constructed and lived in. The area would have been very isolated, reached only by horse and cart, situated near a stream for water, with green hills for backdrop. I spent quite a while just staring at it, trying to see details. Would love to go back for a closer look. thanks for a top cache.

found this georgeous old farm shed after getting a trig at sandy creek. It is such a shame to see these old buildings falling apart.
here are the remains of an original mud brick & stone house in Gungahlin in the north of Canberra. Check out the google earth image for the floor plan. Not much let but there is an old child's bed and some bits of the old stove, plus some of the walls. I will update with the history of the building when I find it as there were no signs to tell me the story.

A lonely run down Dwelling on Pelverata Road. Thanks for the cache Red Tag.
This is the Oast House at Ranelagh, S43*00.929 and E147*02.431; that for years was used to dry the hops grown by Tom Frankum, who employed many of the valleys citizens to pick his hops and harvest his orchards. The hop kiln has not been used for may a year now as hops, not as they were through the 1950s,60s and 70s, are no longer grown in the Huon. TFTC OldSaint.
On my way to a camp near Burnt Yards when I saw this old butcher's shed (or meat safe) on a nearby property. It doesn't appear to be in use anymore. Have a look behind the screen!

Found this gem on a trip to Ravenswood, Qld. today. It is an old gold miner's hut and must have many stories to tell. This area was very rich with gold in the late 1800's and a large amount of gold has been extracted again during the last few years.
Elsey Station is now a national park and also the site of natural hot springs.
A replica of the original homestead of Jeannie and Aeneas Gunn, has been built at the site of the hot springs and was used in the production of the movie based on the book, "We of the Never Never".

OK, I've been really slack (It has been almost a year since taking the photo!) but I wanted to honour this one with somewhere special. Approaching the Florentine River from the Gordon River Road, you will come across this comfy little abode; I believe that it was used as more than just a walkers hut, but I'm sure someone will correct me if that is not the case! It just oooozes ozstraliana. Needs some work though!

We were passing through the mighty township of Osterley (six houses, one community hall, three chimneys, a herd of cows, and some sheep) and saw this fine piece of Australiana. This is Tasmanian high country, and it's hard to tell if the building has been accommodation or a shed, but it seems to have had some recent running repairs. Thanks for the cache, red tag.

Right in the middle of Queanbeyan is this block which is right out of rural Australia.... The woolly mowers are often seen however it was near me and would not move nearer the buildings for the photo. There is also an old grinding stone in the back also. The house on the adjoining block also is part of the setting. I could easily imagine back many years.

Dropped in to pick up a TB from a nearby GC.com cache, and saw this lovely view of something quintessential Australian. The photo was taking looking to the East form the fence of the property, about 30m from the cache itself.

Found this great one down south at the South Durras turnoff from the Princes Highway (between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay). Definitely fits the mark.
My favourite however was featured in a Ken Duncan photograph from ages ago that was on the road to Wisemans Ferry from Somersby(Gosford). I used to drive past it regularly and watch as it collapsed gradually over the years. Have to go back and see how it has fared in the last 7!

Spotted this shed/stable while I was driving in the bush today. Thanks for the cache.
The photo I took is the remains of`Gordonvale` in the Vale of Rasselas. This was the the residence of fossicker, Ernie Bond, Erni lived here from 1933-50, The timber farm complex included a bakehouse, butchery, office and `honeymoon` visitors accomodation grouped around the main residence. Until 1950, Ernie Bond lived an isolated lifestyle, selling produce at Adamsfield across The Thumbs Range to the south, and providing accommodation for occasional visitors and bushwalkers.
The last remaining building standing is believed to be Ernies office.
I first visited this place in 1987 and took the photo then. On visits since there is nothing remaining standing but still lots of Ernies things about too look at.

Seen 8 Mar 2008 nr Westaway on way to Strathgordon whilst on holidays in Tasmania - didn't realise there was a cache this could be attached to hence GPS not included - can't resist showing it though - its an old oast house, amazing that it still stands!
Found these stockyards while looking for Doeseboryou. Didn't realise they were in a National Park until a cache I had hoped to place at the Upper Ebor Falls failed the 'Umpire test'. These must have been used, obviously, but before the area was gazetted as Guy Fawkes River NP.
This house is located on Alpine Way between Jindabyne and Thredbo. It is no longer inhabited but I can remember when I first saw it in the 1960's that it did have residents.
We saw this on the way up the East coast of Tasmania.
Found this overgrown farm building near Kelso in North Tassie.
This old building called "Six Mile Cottage" was near Darkan WA beside a geocache GC16P78
I drive past this shed at least six times per year while working. It is in a paddock off the beaten track.
Dad found a different shed but this one is heaps better. We continued onto another cache before coming back to get pictures. I can also log 2 other locationless caches from the same spot. See The Little Grey Fergie and You've Got Mail. Thanks.

What country twon is complet without its own railway station? Tantanoola is on the Highway from Mt Gambier to Adelaide and is a quaint little town with a lot of hitoric buildings. These two are part of the railway station which is, in my opinion, very much charactoristically australian!

Cache #50, found on a caching trip to the Bathurst area. Found on Cow Flat Road outside of Georges Plains.
Can see this from midlands highway near Tunbridge, wouldn't mind to have a look in the house, Good to stop and have a look at these old buildings, Thanks for the cache
Found this one just outside Ross on the way down to Dippys Do at Richmond, Not sure what it used to be though, Thanks Red Tag for making us look more closely at what we would normally just drive past without giving it a second thought,
We found this beauty in the middle of Styx River Valley. In good times it was very comfortable for forest workers.
After missing that last great opportunity up the lakes way, was wondering where else I might find a good piece of "Australiana". Didn't need to go far at all. The obvious hit me and I just went for a walk while at Mum and Dad's to take a photo of the old dairy.
Great pics guys, just the sort we're looking for. And Dippy, we know about forgetting the GPSr; it's a bit like forgetting to brush your teeth.........
I've only just looked at this cache - took this gorgeous scene heading north from Waddamana after doing a cache there (even put the photo with that log). It would have been perfect for Australiana if only I'd taken coords etc! But I'll just post it again, because I think it's so lovely!
I have driven past this one for many years and even used the side road (where the picture was taken) for "Rest and Survive the Drive" on many occasions, just don't tell the boss....
Pity I can only log one, I know of heaps more.
Thanks red tag.
