Description
A nice simple near drive-by find to break up the long drive...
While driving south after a caching trip with Albida33, LuckyL10n and Sol de Lune we thought we'd add a few caches along the more empty areas to encourage people to stop for a rest and revive and survive !!
This cache is located slightly off the main road along a good dirt road. Not very difficult to find. You can park within 5m of the cache hide.
Please re-cover well to ensure this cache lasts.
Happy Hunting !!
My traveling mates will be claiming a find as they were with me when it was placed, but of course they will not be claiming the first to find.

Today as we headed from Blackall to Barcaldine and stopped to look for this cache. Alas the cupboard was bare or almost bare. No cache to be found but there was a spiral that could have belonged to a log book. Looks like this one may be gone.
On a trip out to the dinosaur regions of western Queensland, geocaching with newbie ScruffyMuffy.

We have travelled from A (our home in SW of WA) to B via the Savannah Way with a two week unexpected detainment in Mackay which has set us back, now sadly travelling back to A via the Outback Way from Winton to Laverton.
Head height for most isn't head height for a shorty like me but all good

Thanks for this one found after QOGM, on our way from Barcaldine to our next stopover at Blackall.
A nice little stroll in the bush uncovered this cache for me.

Completely missed all the GA caches on our previous visit. A quick DIDO and after adding my name to the log I replaced it in its hidey hole. TFTC Fitzy_1965

We were out and about today exploring the country side where a lot of travellers do not go, yet, to spy out cache placement spots.
On the way south we had a brief stop and soon had this one in hand. Not too much traffic out and about today.
Now onto the next one and as it is off road in the rest REA SHOULD BE A GOOD SAE ONE TO GET. TFTC FITZY_1965

#GA1760 - 00:00; I was with the CO when he placed this cache on Day 28 of our Alice Mega Road Trip. Now that it has been found, I'm claiming my find. The cache was placed as we headed south from Barcaldine along the Landsborough Highway through Blackall, Tambo and Augathella before turning onto the Mitchell Highway enroute to Charleville for the night. Augathella was pretty quiet. Despite driving right through the town we saw one person! TFTC fitzy_1965

With If getting the work done on this one, time for the Beta Testers to make their mark on the cache as well....
After leaving Mt Isa and heading down towards the NSW border, we found there was a definite lack of Geocaching Australia caches, so to help promote our local product we all managed to drop the odd cache. Hopefully this will entice those cachers travelling these sort of remote roads to stop, rest and find a cache or two.
And just for the record, there are still the odd one or two waiting to be found....and with the winter migration on, chances are they all be claimed soon.
Thanks for this one.....nice little spot.

What's this ??
A FTF on offer along the road to Quilpie ??!!
How could I resist stopping ??
A nice easy find here next to the quiet highway.
And a delightful spot to take a stroll through the Aussie bushland and learn about the flora in this part of the world
"Dead Finish" ... what a great name for a plant !!
How it got its name is a result of European settlement and drought
There are many other interesting bits of botany to read about out here too
TFTC.
OK !!
All you cache watchers who haven't really found the cache can go ahead and log your finds now
Beta testers !!
Should be banned !!
