Description
Fairly easy Traditional cache just outside of Mckinlay
A number of scenes of the iconic Australian film "Crocodile Dundee" were shot at the "Walkabout Creek" Pub here in Mckinlay. The pub itself is a great spot to stop during the long drive through here to anywhere where there are photos taken during the shoot.
The cache itself is off the road about 20m - there is a large sign at this location as an aiming point.
Drive safe and take a break and find a cache as a bonus.
Happy Hunting !
My fellow travellers Albida33, LuckyL10n and Sol de Lune will claim this find as they were there when the cache was placed. They of course will not be claiming the First To Find...

I replaced this cache on COs request. It was a mighty film and I love that line!
Looked for this one but could not find. There was a pile of rocks at a likely fence post though
Continuing on our trek east grabbing caches along the way. TFTC.
Interesting sinking to mid calf in the mud getting over to the cache

Arrived at GZ and searched the surrounding area to no avail. We have replaced the cache to keep it in play albeit with a smaller version (all we had at the time) [*FTF*]
Many thanks Fitzy_1965 for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience.

Alice trip 2017. Day 27. Today Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I traveled from Charlieville to Nyngen. A long day on the road with not much caching to do. I had to make sure there was at least one cache for me to find today.
I was here when the cache was placed, so not it has been found I am claiming my find.
Thanks.
Albida

#GA2911 - 00:00; This cache was placed on an expedition on the way home from The Red Centre Experience in Alice Springs, after a stop at the Walkabout Creek Hotel and having a first hand look at that knife! Anyway, it's been over a year waiting for someone to claim, I'll now log my find and leave it a bit long for a first find so to speak. TFTC fitzy_1965

Heading home from the Alice Springs event and a few days in Darwin in April 2017 with LuckyL10n, fitzy_1965 and Albida33, we decided that the outback roads of Queensland needed a few Geocaching Australia caches to give cachers something to stop for and to also have a break from the long drives between towns.
Of the caches placed and published, this one remains unfound after 12 months so I am now claiming a find, although NOT claiming any first to find status. Hopefully the cache will be found sometime in the near-ish future and someone will get that first to find.
As for the cache, everyone has probably heard the saying that the cache has taken it's name from....and while you are in the area you should certainly stop off at the Walkabout Creek hotel to actually see the 'knife'. Just ask the guys/girls behind the bar.
Thanks fitzy....a good time was had by all.
