Description

Bendigo Tramways has been in operation since June 1890. From that time, the citizens of Bendigo have experienced battery, steam and electric traction as the principal modes of propulsion for their trams.  The Posted coordinates will have you near the entrance to the depot and workshop where the world's trams are repaired and reconstructed.

Please take a phot of yourself somewhere in the area.

Two for one as we grabbed a stage of an Adventure Lab while here.
Late in the day so saw two trams come in for the night. Had noticed them as we cached in the city today. Grabbed the pamphlet in case we decide to take the one hour tram ride tomorrow.
It would cut in to our last caching day in Bendigo though. We'll make a decision in the morning.
Thanks The Morris.

After all the years of coming to Bendigo it was time to finally check this one off the list Smile

'Uncle Dan' finally decided to let us 'unclean' Melbourne Metro people to travel to regional so was great to be able to get back to Bendigo to catch up with family again and to grab a cache or two. Dancing

Many thanks again The Morris for highlighting this area. Clapping

Out and about caching in Bendigo. A good day to stop and do the new virtuals around Bendigo that have appeared since our last visit. Another interesting spot. No trams leaving when we were there. TFTV

When we arrived at this location today we were fortunate that a tram was there just about to take a group of tourists on a tour of parts of Bendigo. It is great to see that the tram heritage of Bendigo has been preserved as a living memorial. We lament that the tram heritage of Hobart (both single and double decker trams) is no longer active although they can be seen in a transport museum. A photo of Mrs y'stassie standing in front of the tram has been added to the Gallery. Thanks The Morris for bringing us to another wonderful spot in Bendigo.

A plea from our all-grown-up daughter to bring some of her stuff to Bendigo gave us an opportunity to find a few GCA caches during the rushed trip. Some planning helped us in not having to backtrack, although the showgrounds cache required a second visit due to the pony club meeting. We still managed to make it home in time for our afternoon commitment, and with 6 FTF's as well Dancing.

It seems that there's a GC cache near a lot of GCA caches. In this case we parked quite close to the GC cache and I skipped across the road for this photo.

Our thanks to The Morris for placing this GCA cache.
