Description
Access to this cache is via Westrope Road which turns off the main Western Creek Road. The access spur....Westrope 2 & Western Ck. track are well
sign posted. Parking area is at S41 40.568 E146 28.622
From the car park...please don't blindly follow the sign posted Western Creek track...as this is the old original track and quite rough walking. From the
car park facing the tiers...a newer track(part of the sign posted loop track) commences slightly to your left heading south from the car park. The
beginning is a little obscure...once found the track zig zags quite steeply at first then levels out to a more gentle climb. After 10-15 minutes a small
spring can be found which is the only water before reaching the falls. Their are small sections with some rock scrambling with the track a little obscure
.... but I've placed extra pink tape here. The falls should be reached in 40m or so. If you have pets or younger children... be careful here as you'll be
standing above the last section of the falls. The cache is on the approach side of the creek...so no need to cross unless continuing on to other caches
at Norms' Shack or Ironstone Mountain(part of Devils Gauntlet series).
The cache is a black 200ml sistema with logbook and pencil only.
Enjoy!

Made it to the hut but due to rain and poor visibility, that plan had to be abandoned.
Luckily all was not lost as he found this cache along the way. Not a lot of water coming over the falls today. A pleasant spot for a break.
Cache and contents in good condition.
Many thanks Sirius Tas for placing this cache.
Warning: The wire rope in some of the pictures is broken and coiled up in the tree on one side. There is nothing to hang onto when crossing at the moment.
We followed the recommended path in and found it to be a bit rugged so we were left wondering just how challenging the lower western path would have been. We left a fair bit of tape along the trail especially at the entrance and exits across the rock rivers so that the Eyrettes and other walkers could easily find their way back home.
Crossing the falls along the wire hand guide was the most exhilarating and frightening adventure that LilEyre has had so far in her short life of walking but now after a day rest after the walk she seems to think it was one of the highlights of the trip.
We loved finding these falls and were literally thrilled to cross the falls half up from the bottom. Thanks for placing this cache in an impressive place Sirius.
Thanks Sirius.
The little spring on the way was marvellous, we sat and ate lunch and drank cool, clear mountain water. The falls, when we reached them weren't much to look at as they'd dried to a trickling puddle. They tasted good, though. And were easy to cross.
Before heading on we took a dip in the inviting pool at the bottom, but the water was a bit too cold. Freezing water and blowtorch sun, not a great combination.
Somewhere in the blazing heat a cache was found and something scribbled in it. Was encouraged that the last person was March Brown, so we were still on track for 3rd...
Thanks Sirius
The falls were very pretty and well worth visiting.
Thanks sirius
Cache soon in hand, and on to Ironstone.
