Please note: Multigrip Pliers may be required to open this cache!
Burleigh Heads' surf break attracts surfers from the Gold Coast and beyond. At the headland of Burleigh, locally known as "The Point", barbecues and cricket matches are held, and spectators can watch the surfers. On Sunday afternoons, local musicians and fire-twirlers often come out to the park beside Burleigh SLSC for a jam and dance session.
Burleigh is like the Byron Bay of Queensland. A little bit quirky, hip and trendy, and with lots of good food to eat.
The area of Burleigh Head was formed between 20 and 23 million years ago from molten lava due to numerous eruptions of Mount Warning. Flowing lava reached the shore in the area to form Burleigh headland and Point Danger. There's an Earthcache™ to celebrate this fact, if that's your thing. (Well nowdays there's an Earthcache™ in every bloody council gravel quarry.)
Burleigh could well be The Gateway to Adventure. There are some beautiful parks just inland, perfect to have a Teddy Bear's Picnic. Just mind the trolls.
The cache is designed to blend in to its surroundings and is hidden in plain sight. Due to the nature of how the container is constructed, there's only room for a pencil and a logsheet. There is information recorded on the cache container that will assist you in finding the Gold Coast Beaches GeoTour Challege Cache. (If only it was an EarthCache™)

Thanks for the cache.
We grabbed a park in the carpark between 3rd and 4th Ave, plenty of available space, and walked further north to where the cache was. I admit this has been one of the few of these caches that I have used my GPS on. I knew it was within one of the walkways to the beach, but exactly which one. We had plenty of fairy wrens entertaining us on our journey either by the males showing off their blue and black plumage or singing from their hiding spots amongst the brush.
Thanks for the cache.
