Description

Take a photo of an old piece of agricultural machinery, on a farm, not in a museum.

There is possibly another locationless like this but there are so many pieces of equipment rusting away on farms that I reckon there’s room for another one, and this should be an easy one.

Having come from a farming family myself it never ceased to amaze me how these old machines worked, and how they continued to operate long after their invention, and the ingenuity of farmers keeping them going.

Almost anything on the farm could be fixed with a bit of fencing wire, a pair of pliers, and determination.

Congratulations to Celtical on FTF Honours, as the previous log by Old Saint was taken from the Memorial Oval, not on a farm as was specified.

We have passed so many things that would qualify as a find for this cache in the last few weeks but were either in a hurry or there was no where to pull over for a photo.
Today we saw this old tractor and ute cab parked in a paddock on the way to a cache. We knew we would be coming back past so decided to stop for a photo.
The tractor was found on South Road, between Ulverstone and Penguin in NW Tasmania at S41 7.900 E146 5.631.
Thanks.

Inneston, located at the bottom of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia was a town where they mined for gypsum. These days there's not much left and it's all just ruins that you can wander around and look at. Some of the older buildings include the bakery, school and the stables. Also lying around are many old farm machinery bits an pieces, which are lined up all in a row.

Thanks for another locationless Cybergran V...

As we drove home from Hobart today, we came across some relics of agricultural machinery in a paddock next to the road. With her farming background, Mrs y'stassie chose the seed drill to meet the requirements for this cache. She remembers the seed drill on her farm in the 1950s but the one we saw today was a much earlier model - even had a wooden draw bar which had broken long ago.As we were taking the photo, three very friendly lambs ran across to the fence. We thought that they were being bottle fed and that our arrival suggested to them that it was "tucker time". Alas, they had to be contented with a pat. Two photos have been added to the Gallery. Thanks Cybergran V for the nostalgic cache.
PS the machine in your photo looks a little like an old threshing machine used to separate grain from the straw.

Whilst out Geocaching with dalerious near Bendigo we saw this old relic on a farm, at Myer’s Flat.
It was made out of wood but I could not ascertain what it was used for.
Being on private property this was as close as I could get.
If anyone recognises what it was used for I’d love to know.
