Description
Have a photo taken of yourself or a team member at a street sign showing a French name.
Also find out what the name translates to in English.
Needing more caches beginning with V this is what I came up with today.
French style names are few and far between in our city but I managed to find one.
Having French ancestors on my father's mother's side I really enjoyed learning French at school, and was interested to see how many parallel words there are in both languages.
CONGRATULATIONS youngoldfella who claims the FTF

La Perouse Street in Warrane. La Perouse was a French explorer and according to Wikipedia what he did in Australia was "During the voyage, La Perouse sent back regular reports to France. The expedition mapped coastlines and explored uncharted areas of ocean. The expedition's scientists also spent time onshore at various ports, observing the habits and customs of local people and collecting natural history specimens" TFTL Using for the Cacheopoly games

LA PEROUSE STREET
MORNINGTON TASMANIA
I was after a recently published puzzle cache when I was required to drive down La Perouse Street.
Jean François de Galaup, comte de Lapérouse 23 August 1741 – 1788?, often called simply Lapérouse, was a French naval officer and explorer. Having enlisted at the age of 15, he had a successful naval career and in 1785 was appointed to lead a scientific expedition around the world. His ships stopped in Chile, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Macau, Japan, Russia, and Australia, before becoming wrecked on the reefs of Vanikoro in the Solomon Islands.

BELLEVUE AVENUE LAUNCESTON TASMANIA
Bellevue Avenue is in South Launceston. Bellevue translates to nice view and while there is still some view from this avenue I feel sure that it is not as it was when the avenue was made and named.

La Perouse Street Red Hill, ACT...
Name after Jean-François de Galaup, comte de Lapérouse, who was a French Naval officer and explorer whose expedition, it is believed, vanished in Oceania in approx 1788. Wikipedia (link below) tells his story and also comments about the difference in the spelling.

Always fun to read about the early explorers of our area, however I have to admit I had not heard of young Jean-Francois before researching this locationless.
Thanks for something to look a little more into than the usual Cybergran V

The naming of the suburbs and streets in Canberra follows a theme. The streets in the suburb of Charnwood are named after prominent early European settlers. Clambe Pl is named after a Frenchman Verincourt de Clambe. de Clambe arrived in Sydney in 1801 and was granted 100 acres by Governor King in the area between Old Castle Hill Road and Old Northern Road.

Right near my work (and right near Central Railway Station, Sydney) is Foveaux Street. I snapped a pic and wondered what the name meant...
A search on the 'net suggests "It's a family name, more usually spelt Fauveau (possibly it means some one with tawny-coloured hair - from the word 'fauve' a wild animal or some one who is unreliable)."
(And also "Foveaux is french, pronounced "Fo Vo"." ) TFTC!
EXTRA NOTE: I just had a look in the gallery for this cache (only 3 pics so far) and realised that the cross-street I was on was Bellevue St! I believe that is Frence for nice view!

Jacques. Looks like I am (FTF). I had a look at the street Directory for Bargara and Innes Park and Bundberg and I had several to choose from.
This one being the closest to home.
What is the meaning of Jacques?
Etymology & Historical Origin of the Baby Name Jacques. Jacques is the French form of Jacob and James, both of which are ultimately derived from the Hebrew Biblical name יַעֲקֹב (Ya'aqobh) which literally translates to "at the heel" or “one that takes by the heel” (derivative of 'aqebh meaning “heel”).

Bellevue is French for Nice View.
It may have had a nice view when it was first constructed but is now a well established area with lots of houses blocking the view in all directions.
