The naming of the suburbs and streets in Canberra follows a theme. The streets in the suburb of Charnwood are named after prominent early European settlers. Clambe Pl is named after a Frenchman Verincourt de Clambe. de Clambe arrived in Sydney in 1801 and was granted 100 acres by Governor King in the area between Old Castle Hill Road and Old Northern Road.
